23. – 24. září se uskutečnila interdisciplinární konference „States of the Book“, jejímž hlavním organizátorem byl ústav pro anglickou literaturu a filozofii West Point Academy USA ve spolupráci s Mellonovou nadací. Akademici a vědci z USA, Velké Británie a České republiky se v pěti panelech zaměřili na metody a účinky, které měly a mají texty ve formě knihy a dalších tištěných médií na společnost v různých lokalitách od starověku po současnost.

Travel report FOSDEM 2019

Konference FOSDEM 2019 poskytla svým účastníkům širokou možnost konfrontace s trendy a posledními informacemi k tématu otevřených technologií s unikátním pokrytím jak co do hloubky, tak i do šíře informací. Součástí programu bylo několik desítek workshopů, stovky přednášek a řada praktických příkladů využití různých technologií, které NTK využívá. Součástí akce byla i prezentace sponzorských firem formou stánků. Na konferenci byl i dostatečný časový prostor pro osobní setkání s jednotlivými účastníky, přednášejícími a zástupci vystavujících firem.

Invenio v3 Bootcamp

The purpose of this business trip was visiting the Invenio v3 bootcamp event organized by CERN in March 2019 for digital repository developers. Bootcamp was conceived as a theoretical and practical introduction to the Invenio v3 framework with space for consultations.

Business report of 13th International Digital Curation Conference

The business report describes the course of participation in the 13th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) dedicated to data and data management plans. Participation in the conference was key to plans to build a new repository. The international trip brought a first insight into the issues and new trends at the international level. At the same time, it has made it possible to establish contacts between experts in the field who already manage their repositories. The findings and texts of the papers can be used as a basis for consideration of the possibilities of NTK in the field of research data and data stewardship, and they are also an inspiration for the next year of the international Conference on grey literature and repositories under the auspices of NTK.

Business report of Open Repositories 2019: all the user needs

The Open Repositories conference aims to bring participants the latest trends in digital repositories. This is a very important topic to the NTK that operates two digital repositories. The participant gained an overview of the latest developments in repository technologies and had the opportunity to establish contacts with repository operators around the world. The most beneficial was the section devoted to Invenio software, which the NTK uses for both repositories and is working on upgrade to version 3.
