Multi-function Cultural Centre "Creative City" in Brno

The aim of the Master thesis project is a reconstruction of former prison in Soudní street in Brno. The current building is a historical construction from 18th century and contains chapel. This building has an extension, which closes the block from the Bratislavská street. The prison has square layout with two inside yards and one yards between prison and the extension. The design contains new usage of the current spaces with extension of new floors on the prison building, demolition of the current extension from the Cejl street and construction of new building on created new space. On the current building is designed two floor structure from the Soudní street, the rest of the building has one floor. New administrative construction is connected with the old building by a bridge. The main purpose of new creative centre are spaces for artists, painters, architects, alternative actors, newspaper publishers, starting businessmen and other functions that relates to operation of the building. Other functions are living, permanent and temporary, atelier for public and cooking institute.
The Creative Centre Brno-Cejl

The main purpose of this project is reconstruction former penitentiary for a Creative Centre. The lokation is in Brno, between Cejl streer, Bratislavská street and Soudní street. The main idea of this project is „make the place with incubators for young architects, creativ persons and designers. The building program is adapted to the historical essence and construction and technical situacion of this building. There are designed spaces for their creations, exhibions, distributions and auctions of their artistic products. The idea of concept contains too the space for lectures, workshops, seminars, courses and untraditional educational projects, visual and acustic and different productions. There is too the possibility of short-term accommondation in attic. The part of this object is reserved for dancing lessons. All these spaces are designed for a rent. There are designed too new entrance spaces, parking places, technical equipment and facilities. The inseparable part of this project are inner atriums, entrance spaces and contunuity on public street spaces and communications. The complex of Creative centre is without mobile roofing and without covered passages. The main idea of this complex is to preserve the main square mass with the central wing, and is to clean up the less historical insignia extensions of the Cejl street and of the Bratislavská street. From the constructional poit of view consists this buiding two aboveground floors with used attic. The attic is coved with gabled roof made of interlocking tiles. The complex is based on stone basis with bearing wall made from full of burnt brick. The ceilings are made of wooden beams with arches of full of burnt brick. At the present the complex is without permanent using. The part of this complex was sold in personal property. Experience in The Artwork and in The Gallery Space

The theoretical part of the thesis is comprised of three interrelated areas: the exhibition as a medium, space, and curation. The chosen areas each include a presentation of the development of space. The thesis explores elements that transform the audience's overall experience of visiting an exhibition and the audience's impression of the displayed piece. The chapter which follows the facilitator's role in the exhibit determines the most common causes of the public's dismissive stance towards art. The third chapter is focused on curation and introduces the curator's role. The practical part of the thesis proposes solutions for a three-dimensional installation and offers means of linking artworks to their surroundings. In relation to the subject of the public's detachment from art, the thesis explores art from the viewpoint of the audience and the audience's experience. The thesis aims at designing an arrangement that aids in bettering the relationship between the public, the gallery, and art, through the use of gallery education. The practical part involves the author's project - a curatorial conception for which thematic series are provided in the didactic part. The bachelor's thesis deals with systematic description of contemporary three dimensional art in Ulaanbaatar and specializes in sculpture and installation. At first it shortly describes the history of mongolian sculpture. The following chapter focuses on the characterization of art scene in Ulaanbaatar through selected artists. It portrays the main topics and processes of creation of contemporary works of art. Media image of David Černý and his work in the zech press

This bachelor thesis "The medial image of David Černý and his work in the czech press" is trying to present the medial image of contemporary czech controversial artist in selected periodicals, formed both by the media and his personality. For specific documentation of the image, its changes and development while outlining development of periodicals themselves were selected two seasons; five-year period before the turn of the millennium (1996-2000) and equally long period after the turn of the millennium (2006-2010), the periodicals were chosen from among the most read newspapers (MF DNES, Lidové noviny, Hospodářské noviny and Blesk) and weeklies (Reflex, Respekt a Týden). In the first part is presented the biography of David Černý and his work, as well as some of the press trends since 1989. The second part of the work is focused on a specific period and personality in the monitored titles, the aim is to describe from selected articles the medial image of David Černý and describe, how it has been transformed, how has changed expression of the artist and which changes have occured in press. The Snake as Means of Reflection in the Texts about Artists from the German Romantic Period

The submitted doctoral thesis examines the function and performance of the motive of a snake in four selected texts about artists of the German romantic period and perceives the snake as an attribute reflecting the problems of the artistic existence and a way to the artistic work, possibly of the artistic work at all. When interpreting the single motives of the snake, three-phase procedure as applied by Erwin Panofsky in description of the motives in the pictures has been chosen by analogy for literary texts. The interpretation is based on the structural position of the motive of the snake in the text and its performance in the text. Subsequently, the principal role is revelation of contexts which updates the given motive of the snake - in particular they are biblical snakes, mythical snakes and a serpentine line as a line of beauty which was the subject of the period aesthetic discourse. The meaning of the motive of the snake in the texts is given primarily by the mutual interaction of theme contexts which is in the single texts realized by various ways. Daňové úniky v oblasti zdaňování příjmů umělců

In the text of the thesis there is described, how incomes of artists are taxed. There is also dealt with legislative rules in force in the Czech Republic and double taxation treaties. In connection with legislative rules there are described some legal cases with artists which were solved by the European Court of Justice. According to the theory of taxation there is sketched the problematic of tax evasion, how it is sorted, what is causing it and how to avoid it. In the practical part of this thesis there are analysed incomes of individual artists who provided information about their incomes for the purpose of this thesis. Moreover, there is represented the particularity of the artists’ field. At the end of this thesis, the tax evasion in this field is quantified, conclusions from it drawn and solution suggested.
Principy obnovy zahrad významných tvůrčích osobností

The diploma thesis is focused on the theme of the garden of artists and the principles of their renewal. The selection of artists, prominent creative personalities, was directed to represent as many artistic disciplines as possible. Selected gardens were analyzed; Studied the original condition, followed the development and, of course, the current appearance of the garden. It was studied whether the artistic focus in some way did not look like a garden, and whether the gardens fall or should fall under some conservation monument. As a result of this analytical part, it was the pronouncing of the connecting elements, the fact that the gardens are something specific, what their atmosphere, identity is. In the design section, three gardens were selected, where the type of renovation and restoration was appropriately selected. The selection of the restoration was based on the criterion of history, present, but also intention for the future. At the end of the thesis general principles were stated in the newly created interventions in art gardens.
