Friendships and partner relationships in young adults with autism spectrum disorder

This master thesis examines friendship and partnership relationships in young adults with autism spectrum disorders. In the literature section, the definition of autism spectrum disorders according to the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems and the American Psychiatric Association's DSM-V manual is presented, the specific areas of autism spectrum disorders are discussed, with attention being paid mainly to the social area, and the chapter also focuses on diagnosis and support options. The next chapter covers general aspects of friendship and specifics in friendships for people on the spectrum. The chapter on partner relationships is divided in the same way. The literature section also includes specifics of relationships in the online world and concludes with a brief summary. The research section begins by introducing the research objectives and research questions. The research design was conceived as qualitative. The research was conducted in two phases, the first of which was an online questionnaire. The second phase then consisted of semi- structured interviews that aimed to deepen the findings from the questionnaire. "Polyamory Has Always Been There Somehow" - Women's Experiences With Polyamory

The bachelor's thesis deals with the phenomenon of polyamory, an alternative form of experiencing partner relationships in which it is possible and acceptable to love more than one person simultaneously. This thesis examines how women who have experience with polyamory relationships evaluate this experience, what meanings they attribute to their experiences with polyamory and how polyamory influences their construction of self. The thesis also focuses on the influence of social norms and expectations associated with partnership and female sexuality in Western society. Thus, the goal is to describe how women experience polyamory and to explain to what extent society stigmatizes this relationship arrangement and how polyamorists deal with it. The findings in the analytical part of the work derive from the analysis of nine in-depth interviews conducted with women who have experience with polyamorous relationships. These interviews were analysed using the qualitative method of segmentation and coding. The findings of this research are divided into four areas. Change od quality of partner relationship after the birth of first child

The work observes the development and changes of perception of the relationships of a couple in the period of accepting the role of a parent. In its theoretical part, the work considers the relationship of a couple within a wider context of a family, describes the relationship of a couple from its beginnings to the decision of establishing a family, emphasizes experience of the woman during pregnancy and after giving birth and also deals with the man's view of this period. The conclusion of the theoretical part describes in more detail changes of the relationship during the transition to parenthood and introduces foreign research of this topic. The empirical part then presents the survey itself, where women expecting their first child expressed satisfaction with their relationship both during pregnancy and after giving birth. The evaluated areas of the relationship of a couple include intimacy, communication, shared time, support, care and appreciation. The quality analysis of the statements of the female respondents with regard to the individual evaluated areas specifies the quantitative findings. The survey demonstrates a significant decrease of satisfaction of women with the relationship within the explored period, particularly in the area of intimacy, manifestation of love, appreciation,...

How are people with mental handicap informed about sexuality

This thesis deals with the awareness of people with mental handicap in the area of sexuality and relationships. In the theoretical section defines mental handicap and describes in detail the issues of sexuality and partner relationships for people with mental handicap. This description includes human sexuality and its importace, stereotypes about sexuality of people with mental handicap and its specifications, legal documents pertaining to this issue and its current status. The theoretical part closes the chapter, which charts the possibility of sources of information on sexuality and partner relationships for people with mental handicap. Practical work examines how people with mental handicap know about sexuality and relationships and what sources they draw information. The research method was semi-structured interviews with 5 women and 5 men with mental handicap. At the end of the work there are several recommendation for non profit organization workers how to work with their clients.
