Passing on the lifestyle in the club Wandering Wind

The thesis deals with describing the transmission of lifestyle within the scout troop Toulavý vítr in České Budějovice. The first part of the thesis describes the movements and organizations to which the troop adheres. The second part introduces the troop Toulavý vítr itself, its history, and present. The third part describes the features of the lifestyle and the way they are transmitted within the troop. The fourth part of the thesis compares the method of transmitting lifestyle within the scouting movement utilizing scout education with the method of transmitting lifestyle withinthe troop Toulavý vítr.
Program differences of the summer camps of the selected non-profit organizations

Name of Thesis: Program differences of the summer camps of the selected non-profit organizations. Thesis objectives: The comparison of the program differences of four non-profit organizations was the objective of the research. Method: All data were found out through the questionnaire, which was send by email through the home organization. These data were analyzed and the conclusions were deduced from therm. Results: The research proved that the program differences are very insignificant at these organizations. Each detachment has its specifics and it prepares the camp by its way, but the final orientation and also course of games are very similar. It doesn't matter so many about the organizations, to which the detachments are included, but rather about the detachment itself. Nature as Myth

What exactly do we mean by "nature"? What do people expect from "nature"? And how has our understanding of it changed? The M.A. thesis "Nature as Myth", using Barthe's two-tiered system of signs and myths as a methodological tool, attempts to answer these questions through an examination of various historical and literary sources. The thesis has a chronological structure, consisting of four parts: 19th century, 1918-1938, 1938-1989, and from 1989 until the present. It focuses on fiction, memoir, and the history of "back to nature" movements. It also deals with environmental and aesthetic issues. The last section touches on the representation of nature in advertisement. The thesis will demonstrate that in all four of the time periods the most common depiction of nature is as a place of escape - both literally and figuratively. key words: nature, hiking, tramping, scouting, woodcraft, recreation in the cabins and cottages, ecology
North American Native Religions as an Ispiration for the Educational Process

This diploma thesis deals with the study of selected principles of the spirituality of North American Indians, which it see as inspiration for the education and personal development. The theoretical part examines the basic aspects of Native American spirituality and lifestyle as part of the phenomenon called Indianism. It also takes into account the issue of the origin and development of the popularity of Indianism in our territory and its practical forms in the Euro- Indian movements. Particular attention is paid to the woodcraft movement and its educational dimension. The practical part contains research on the spiritual and educational practice of Indianism in woodcraft. The research is based on the analysis of semi-structured interviews with selected woodcrafters who have undergone this education or apply it to the education of new generations. The results of the research confirmed the living practice of Native American spiritual and educational ideas in wodcraft. This reveals the practice of Indianism in our territory, which is devoted by individuals living in the otherwise normal cultural conditions of our world.
Restoration of the Czechoslovak woodcraft movement after 1989

This master thesis maps out events and processes which are connected with the resurgence of the Woodcraft league of Czechoslovakia after the fall of communism in Czechoslovakia in 1989. It deals with woodcraft community and affiliated groups that intensified their activities during the last years of the period of normalization in Czechoslovakia. After the Velvet revolution, these groups and individuals represented basis for the resurgence of the Woodcraft league. Furthermore, this paper describes concrete steps connected with this resurgence, introduces prominent actors of this process and tries to explain their major steps. It does not omit controversial events, neither ideological cleavages linked to the resurgence of the organisation, which was gagged more than 40 years. Finally, this final thesis puts the focus on the evolution of the organisation during its first modern period when it has succeeded in establishing itself within the Czechoslovakian society marked by a newly gathered freedom, an uncritical euphoria and by the subsequent return to reality. The information for this study was collected using the method of oral history, more specifically through interviews with prominent actors of these events.
