Gealfow, John Altair ; Schüller, David (referee) ; Konečný, Štěpán (advisor)
This diploma thesis is proposing and evaluating a strategy of human resource management in the field of productivity of intellectual workers and students while using insights from scientific research on procrastination and productivity. The suggested strategy implements especially two methods that were found effective for lowering the rate of procrastination in latest scientific studies – the method of awareness and mindfulness and the method of journaling. This diploma thesis includes design and creation of an educational program consisting of video lessons in the field of time-management, techniques of mindfulness and awareness and the method of journaling. Furthermore, it includes running research with a group of students during an exam period, while all participants record information on using the above mentioned methods for the period of 15 days, while the logged information has combined nature between objective information on performance (data on usage of personal computer, data on the amount of work done and time spent on it) and self-evaluation information (subjective evaluation of daily performance and subjective evaluation of perceived daily happiness). This thesis evaluates the suggested strategy on the research sample of 15 university students and is using the methods of input and output questionnaire, same as analysis of the continuous data logged while journaling from the research participants, to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. The goal is to be able to apply this strategy in the business practice in human resource management. Another possible application is also improvement of study productivity of students using self-management techniques.
A View on Reflection in Nursing and Social Work Education
Čajko Eibicht, Monika ; Lorenz, Walter (advisor) ; Brnula, Peter (referee) ; Vacková, Jitka (referee)
In times of dynamic social changes and uncertainty, reflective practice becomes crucial for social work and nursing. This dissertation examines the epistemological foundations and the multidimensional nature of reflection within professional education from various theoretical perspectives tested through original empirical findings, which aim to prevent the reduction of reflection to a mere technique and instead promote dialogue, interdisciplinary cooperation, and participatory methods. Drawing on phenomenological and critical constructivist approaches deepens the understanding of educators' individual and collective experiences and reflective practices. The structure of the thesis corresponds to three empirical phases. The first phase investigates the characteristics of reflection and its developmental potential using SRIS and PHLMS questionnaires. The second phase, encompassing reflexive thematic analysis of interviews, addresses educators' views on reflection and their methods of promoting reflectivity among students. In the third phase, the work employs Q methodology to process and analyze various perspectives on reflection among educators. This method, still underutilized in the Czech context, allows for a deeper examination of the subjective aspects of educational practice. The participation...

Sikorová, Karolína ; Bačáková, Radka (advisor) ; Turčová, Ivana (referee)
Title: The impact of the Mindful camp outdoor course on conscious attention Objectives: To investigate the short- and long-term impact the Mindful camp outdoor course had on participants' conscious attention. Methods: This thesis uses qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews conducted with five anonymous adult participants of the Mindful camp outdoor course held 13-17 July 2022. The interviews were conducted before the camp, just after the camp, and five months after the camp. An open coding method was used to analyze and evaluate respondent's statements. Results: The three and half days long Mindful camp outdoor course had a positive short-term impact on the conscious attention of all five respondents. Only two of the five respondents felt a long-term impact on mindful attention five months after the camp. The other two were unable to assess the impact, and one respondent dismissed it completely. However, the outdoor environment was rated by all five respondents as very helpful and supportive of the process for practicing mindfulness and developing conscious attention, despite the perceived higher demands of the outdoor environment compared to the indoor environment. Conclusion It was confirmed that Mindful camp had a positive short-term effect on conscious attention for all...

The psychology of happiness: interventions Influencing happiness
Figurová, Mária ; Bahbouh, Radvan (advisor) ; Blatný, Marek (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of happiness and happiness increasing intervention strategies. The theoretical chapters discuss different approaches to defining the term and they are inclined to the view that the term reflects the subjective satisfaction with life of an individual. The thesis further deals with a number of major theories of happiness, analyzes its relationship to other variables, such as heredity, health, money or work and it gives an overview of the best known intervention strategies affecting experiencing happiness in the end of the theoretical part of it. Empirical research is aimed at testing the effectiveness of the chosen strategy - attentivenes - on the changes in experiencing happiness. Although the statistical analysis does not confirm the validity of the hypothesis of an increase in subjective levels of happiness after applying the intervention, the results tend to indicate the effectiveness of the method. Keywords: positive psychology, happiness, satisfaction, attentiveness.

Mindfulness based relapse prevention
Bentley, Anna-Alexandra ; Čiberová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Gabrhelík, Roman (referee)
This bachelor thesis summarizes the current state of knowledge in the field of mindfulness-based relapse prevention. Over the last few decades, mindfulness has become part of several psychotherapeutic programs and has shown promising results in the treatment of a wide range of chronic diseases, including addiction. The starting point for writing this work is the absence of a document that would summarize the current state of knowledge in this field and the possibility of applying a relapse prevention program based on mindfulness in the Czech Republic. In the first part of the work, we briefly deal with cognitive-behavioral therapy and its relationship to the issue of addiction. Subsequently, we present the theory of relapse prevention according to Marlatt and Gordon, which is the most commonly used treatment intervention so far. The main part of the work is a description of the 8-week manualized program Mindfulness-based relapse prevention (MBRP) and a proposal for the implementation of this program in the system of care for addicts in the Czech Republic. The partial goals of the work are to describe the proposed psychological mechanisms of action. Methods of source analysis and semi-structured interviews were used to meet the objectives of the work. The result of the work is a survey that provides...
