Znalostní ekonomiky a implementace výhod na vybranou ekonomiku EU
Škrobáková, Eva
This bachelor thesis deals with the knowledge economy in the countries of the European Union. The aim of the work was to evaluate the level of this economy in the EU and then create a proposal for the least developed knowledge economy in the Union, following the example of the country with the most developed knowledge economy in the Union. In the search, I first define what the knowledge economy is. Subsequently, I identified programs to develop this economy within the EU, namely the Lisbon Treaty and the Europe 2020 strategy. Using the 4 pillars of the knowledge economy and knowledge indexes, I assess the level of this economy in the EU as a whole and in individual countries. Based on the results of the individual states of the Union, I chose Sweden as the most successful knowledge economy and Romania as the economy with the least developed knowledge economy. Subsequently, I described both economies and proposed changes for Romania. In the end I evaluated my proposal.
Corruption in Romania since its entry into the EU
Diatelová, Michaela
This thesis discusses the case of corruption in Romania with respect to the rule of law. It specifically deals with the issue since its entry into the EU in 2007. It aims to show the unpreparedness and the unwillingness of governing elites to fight corruption while indicating the rising number of civil movements, against it in recent years. Under the EU pressure, the perception of corruption and the need to do something about it have become more evident. Romania is still considered as one of the most corrupted states in Europe. After ten years of successful battle, the new government chose the path against the rule of law to decriminalize offenses. It deepened a gap inside the civil society and in the CSOs-elites’ relationship. Political parties have misused anti-corruption policies for spreading fake news and competing with their opponents. This is a qualitative case study.
Výskyt střevního prvoka \kur{Blastocystis} sp. u lidí a psů s tradičním životním stylem
ZIMMELOVÁ, Eliška
The main objective of this bachelor thesis was to investigate the prevalence of the intestinal protist Blastocystis sp. in healthy volunteers from Romania and their dogs. We focused on the occurrence of this protist in humans and their dogs in three regions, more specifically in two regions with traditional lifestyle (villages in rural areas) and in one region with a modern lifestyle (city). Based on the obtained data set, factors such as gender, age, and lifestyle were considered. Using the molecular diagnostic method qPCR, the prevalence of Blastocystis sp. was found to be higher in humans (36 %) than in in dogs (15 %). The primary factor influencing prevalence was the lifestyle (modern versus traditional), with higher colonization rates observed in rural areas for both humans and dogs. In addition, other factors such as traveling also found to play a role in the prevalence of Blastocystis sp. in humans. It has been suggested that contact with animals may also influence the colonization of humans with this protist. Differences in prevalence between age categories were observed in humans and dogs. A slightly higher prevalence rate was observed in dogs that live outdoors than in dogs thatlive indoors. No significant differences were observed with regard to gender in either humans or dogs.

Karásková, Kristýna ; Mlejnek, Josef (advisor) ; Perottino, Michel (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the comparison of the positions of the Prime Ministers of Romania and Lithuania during the reign of Presidents Klaus Iohannis and Dalia Grybauskaité. The work deals with the constitutional and practical position of the prime ministers of both countries. Both countries are part of the post-Soviet space and have gone through a democratic transition. At the same time, Romania and Lithuania are countries with a directly elected president and potentially fall into the category of semi-presidential regimes. The position of prime minister in these countries is specific due to the presence of a directly elected president. The work applied a comparative method, specifically a type of so-called contrast of contexts. This theory helps to understand a certain phenomenon through its context. The aim of the work is therefore to point out and understand the similarities and differences in the position of the prime minister, in practice and in the constitution, of these potentially semi-presidential countries. The work also points out to other institutional elements that prime ministers use to balance the presidential role. Attention is also paid to the phenomenon of cohabitation and the position of the prime minister in cohabitation with a non-party president.

Boudová, Kristina ; Bauer, Paul (advisor) ; Matějka, Ondřej (referee)
Mass protests in Romania and France: a comparison of contemporary anti-establishment movements Author: Kristina Boudová Abstract This thesis examines the divergence and convergence of two populist social movements: The Yellow Vests in France and #rezist in Romania, both of which emerged in response to political and economic grievances. The movements converge in their critique of elites, corruption, and social inequality while defining said elites differently. Through a comparative analysis of the movements' origins, goals, strategies, and outcomes, this research identified similarities and differences between the two movements in terms of their populist features. The findings shed light on the complex nature of populism as a political phenomenon that can take different forms in different regions and contexts.
