Miková, Zuzana ; Kozák, Kryštof Přemysl (advisor) ; Smetana, Michal (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the psychological problems of American veterans from the war on terror. This work aimed to find out what mental effects soldiers take away from the conflict and what main reasons led to their creation. The bachelor's thesis briefly describes the context of the war on terror and new methods of combat used in this conflict, as well as the psychological consequences veterans are facing upon returning home. It introduces programs offered by the American government and ministries to assist affected individuals. The result of the research concludes with serious psychological consequences found among veterans of the war on terror, particularly post-traumatic stress disorder. This represents the highest number to date among all conflicts led by the United States. The major issue is the "unrecognized" cost of the war, such as increased rates of alcoholism, violence, or family breakdown. These consequences also negatively impact the wider society. There are several reasons for developing mental health issues from the war on terror, but the main ones include the prolonged duration of the conflict, new methods of combat and technologies, society's gradual shift towards war rejection, and a negative attitude towards veterans. However, it is also important to note that...

Once Upon a Time
Diplomová práce má podobu autorské knihy propojující vyprávění, koláže a ilustrace, v níž se noří do svých myšlenek a emocí prostřednictvím svého alter ega. Skládání různorodých prvků v kolážích zrcadlí proces opětovného skládání a tvoření života narušeného válkou. Prostřednictvím vlastní tvůrčí práce a kolážových workshopů pro ukrajinské děti autorka vytváří bezpečné prostředí, v němž lze zkoumat a formulovat své emoce. Propojením vyprávění s tvorbou koláží usiluje o podporu hojivých procesů a odolnosti zúčastněných.
Side Effect / This could be us
Masevnina, Polina ; Pustaiová,, Zuzana (referee) ; Klodová, Lenka (advisor)
My bachelor thesis Side Effect / This could be us consists of a series of photographs and the texts in the form of a visual intimate diary and focuses mainly on self-reflection. As in my previous works, I reflect on romantic and sexual relationships, changes in my mental and physical condition, whether caused by love affairs, any kind of addiction, or by taking anti- depressants. The side effect of medical psychotherapy affecting sexuality is one of the top- ics I reveal in my project. By creating my self-portraits and writing explicit notes, I satisfy the obsessive need to share my intimate life - digital exhibitionism has a therapeutic meaning in this case, it helps to ex- perience and cope with my current state. I interpret intimacy from the perspective of sharing a personal space. I explore the physical and symbolic nature of the text as the way of ex- pression and my own body as a tool for preserving and living memories. Focusing on the body I materialise it as the map of touches, I turn my experiences into a physical form.

Level
Mrňová, Petra ; Prokop, Tomáš (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
In her work, the student focuses on the objectification of personal perception of a specific conflict situation. She identifies a hurtful feeling that has stuck in her memory and constantly raises questions. With ignorance or unconsciousness of where the edge is and where it is beyond the edge. Describes and seeks mantineles of self-insight capacity. Where does the ability to control begin and end? The author tries to empathize with people who cross her imaginary edges in what is right, and asks herself if they cross their own? The performative placement of tempered glass in the crown of a tree serves for a materialistic grasp of the limits: "what can be carried", "where is the edge", "what is capacity."
