Czechoslovak-Cuban Cinematic Cooperation in the 1960s

The study analyzes the largely understudied cinematic cooperation between Czechoslovakia and Cuba in the first decade following the Cuban Revolution. It is based mostly on archival documents from the former Central Directorship of Czechoslovak State Film, the ministry of education and culture and the ministry of foreign affairs. Several chapters also draw from oral history, data collected from series of interviews with Cuban technicians and artists who have worked in Cuban cinema since the 1960s as well as Czechoslovak experts who worked at the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Arts and Industries in the 1960s. The Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (CICAI), founded in March 1959 shortly after the triumph of the Revolution, faced a shortage of human and material resources since its inception. The film industry, which had been mostly in the hands of the Americans before 1959, lost much personnel due to mass emigration. Later on, due to the American blockade and embargo, it also lost its most important provider of films, material and equipment. The majority of CICAI's technician and artists were just starting and were lacking in technical knowledge required to make films. China and the Global Rivalry with the United States: Taiwan as a Test of the Mutual Relationship

This thesis examines thematic-analytical practices related to the "Taiwan question," focusing on speeches, public appearances, concepts, and literature about the United States and the People's Republic of China. The work emphasizes key actors, their interests, strategies, and actions, as well as possible military plans and security concepts. The goal is to understand the role of "grand strategies" and other aspects in shaping the Taiwan issue. The thesis also focuses onAmerican and Chinese foreign policy, analyzing the main leaders of both countries through thematic analysis and disciplined case study. Another part of the thesis examines the global positions of the United States and China and their military-political potential. Key strategies and visions that influence Taiwan's politics and security are described and reflected upon, with implications for the roles of the United States and China in the region.

Development of Germany's approach to cybersecurity with the view of specific cyber attacks

German cybersecurity has undergone a significant development over the past two decades. This thesis asks whether there have been qualitative changes in the cybersecurity framework during the period under study. Specific examples from the discipline of cybersecurity are used to answer this question. The attribution of cyber-attacks is given the most prominent consideration. It is first theoretically grounded and then examined through specific examples of significant cyber attacks. The thesis also introduces the concepts of civilian power and securitization, which are operationalized for cyberspace. Based on appropriate criteria and through the analysis of significant strategic documents related to cybersecurity, this thesis introduces the concept of civilian power in cyberspace. Based on the methodological framework, it is then determined whether and to what extent Germany fulfils the ideals of a civilian power in cyberspace. The thesis comes up with the finding that, especially due to the impact of the war in Ukraine, Germany has deviated from the concept of civilian power also in cyberspace. The period of the Third Czechoslovak Republic in the context of international agreements and international politics

The Third Czechoslovak Republic Period in the Context of International Contracts and International Politics This thesis titled "The Third Czechoslovak Republic Period in the Context of International Contracts and International Politics" is divided into a total of five chapters. In the first chapter, or rather in its theoretical part, the author first defines the observed period of 1938-1948 and then defines the legal institutes with which he works in the thesis. In the second chapter of the thesis, the author describes the period of the so-called Second Republic and its political development. In the third chapter of the diploma thesis, the author describes the activities of the Czechoslovak authorities in foreign exile. In this chapter, he discusses the steps of the foreign resistance directing the Czechoslovak government in exile and the process leading to the denunciation of the Munich Agreement. In the last part of this chapter, the author discusses the influence of communist members of parliament on foreign resistance, the improvement of relations with the Soviet Union, President Beneš's visit in Moscow and the negotiation of an alliance agreement between Czechoslovakia and the USSR. Influencing International Relations in the South China Sea Based on the China's Food Policy

The South China Sea region is an important area of international events. In this area, the strained relations between China and the neighboring states sharing the given sea and the United States are reflected. Within the framework of the international political discussion, a great deal of attention is directed, for example, to the issue of Taiwan, mineral deposits and international trade. However, not much attention is paid to the importance of marine fisheries for China's expansionist actions, which is the focus of this work. This thesis deals with the question, "How does China's food security affect international relations in the South China Sea?" Using the approach of neo-Malthusian theory, it is possible to monitor the food demands of the Chinese population in the context of food security affected by a degrading environment. Using analysis and subsequent synthesis, sources and information related to food and international relations are examined. The results of the work indicate that China is food-insufficient in the long term and its protein supply is strongly influenced by protein imports, fishing and fish aquaculture production. EEC and CMEA in 1957-1973

The relationship between the European Economic Community and the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance went through a major transformation between 1957 and 1973. This thesis argues that the institutional interactions between these two organizations were a logical consequence of their internal development. Both represented a regional economic integration and despite political and ideological differences they have been forced to establish a certain level of cooperation, due to the expanding contacts between the member states. After the signing of the Treaties of Rome, which founded EEC, CMEA refused to recognize de jure the existence of the Community and condemned it as a discriminatory capitalist organization. At the same time the Council passed reforms that were supposed to link its economies and strengthen the cohesion of the Eastern bloc. By adoption of the Statute of 1959, the CMEA established its internal structure and operating principles. The first success of the EEC, the pursuit of its own reforms and the UK application motivated CMEA to revise its attitude to the EEC for the first time. The enduring concept of the security dilemma seen from the lens of the technological revolution in Information Security provides a different perception than the traditional version of the dilemma. Moving from apparent to perceived threats, the underlying fear and uncertainty between state actors in an anarchic system have witnessed an increase. This thesis has the objective to study the effect of the advancements in Information and Community Technology, particularly in Cybersecurity, on the perception of the security dilemma. A model of two-level politics: the case of I.R. Iran's nuclear program

This research undertakes an exploration of the intricate dynamics in foreign policy strategies between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic of Iran (I.R.), primarily focusing on the I.R.'s nuclear program. A game theory framework forms the basis of this study, helping to elucidate the complex interplay between international diplomacy, domestic political forces, and strategic decision-making mechanisms. After conducting a chronological examination of the nuclear issue, from its origins through to the ongoing negotiations, this study introduces several models. These are built upon the theoretical pillars established by De Mesquita's (2010) work on modeling I.R.-U.S. nuclear controversy and Putnam's (1988) analysis of the interplay between domestic and international politics. These models capture two significant elements: 1) the substantial influence of domestic politics within both countries on foreign policy outcomes, and 2) how shifts in each influential parameter within the model affect the outcome of the game.
