European capital of culture Košice 2013 - impact on tourism

The diploma thesis studies impacts of receiving the European Capital of Culture 2013 title by the city of Košice. The thesis analyses positive and negative impacts on different fields, mainly impacts on tourism and cultural life in the city. Questionnaire aimed at valuation of the ECC Košice 2013 project is also a part of the thesis. Respondents evaluated their satisfaction, success and fulfilment of their expectations according to this project.
Cultural aspects of international marketing communications companies L'Oréal and Oriflame

This thesis is focused on cultural differences and their influence on the usage of marketing tools of specific companies in various markets. The thesis evaluates the effect of the cultural environment on companies' communications with consumers. There are analyzed American, Indian and Chinese websites of cosmetics company L'Oréal and websites of selected brands of consumer cosmetics that come under L'Oréal. In the second part the German, Indian and Chinese catalogues of cosmetics company Oriflame are analyzed. Analysis of selected marketing tools of both companies is mainly based on findings of Geert Hofstede and the studies that follow-up his work and also on findings of Edward. T. Hall. The analysis revealed that both companies have shortages in the adaptation of usage of marketing tools in different cultural environment. Therefore, a proposal of conception that could help to eliminate the shortages and provide a better adaptation of marketing tools in different cultural environment was recommended.
Preference of Media in Different Cultures

This thesis deals with relationships of culture and media which are used by people of definite culture. In the research there is the most widespread media of present. It includes newspaper, radio, television and internet. The culture is assessed from the viewpoint of Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory. In this theory there are five dimensions which are Power distance, Individualism, Uncertainty avoidance, Masculinity, and Long Term Orientation. The methods, which were used for results, were chi-square and Pearson's adjusted residuals. The researched dates of quanti-tative research originate in Mindreader project of the company Mindshare which was taking place in year 2012.
Economization immovable monuments in the selected region of the Czech republic

The issue of economic utilization and cultural animation of immovable monuments currently affects mainly the objects of local significance. The thesis addressed the question of the efficiency of economization of architectural heritage in the administrative district of Prague 11. Based on the analysis of the region, the range of cultural products offered by the most important sights of Prague 11 is further examined in terms of content, attendence and capacity utilization. Based on the data and the results of the survey, the thesis brings proposals of Chodov's stronghold expansion with new attractive products. Ultimately, it is the recommendation how to increase attendance and overall capacity utilization of the stronghold.
Knowledge Management in Museum Environment

This master thesis is about knowledge management in museum sphere. The purpose of theoretical part of this thesis is to give readers an introduction about basic terminology concerning to knowledge management. This part acquaints with definition of information, types of information, then the mentioned assumptions and the history of knowledge management. The theoretical part devoted to the process of transfer of knowledge, influence factors, barriers and obstacles arising during the inmplementaion of the knowledge management in the organization. The practical part of the thesis is an analysis of the current status of the museum and galeries in the world and the possibility and necessity of using knowledge management in the context of cultural institutions.
Czech-Arab Cultural Standards

This master thesis is focused on Czech-Arab cultural standards. The main aim of this work is to define Czech-Arab cultural standards and compare them with the theory. The teoretical part of the thesis concentrates on culture, intercultural communication and Hofstede's and Trompanaars's cultural dimensions and also Thomas's cultral standards. The practical part of thesis is focused on the United Arab Emirates, basic information about Emirates, history, arab culture and religion and in the practical part are identified arab cultural standards and they are compred with theory. At the end of the thesis are provided recommendations to Czech travelling to the United Arab Emirates. Happy Season - project on the support of regional music bands from the Pardubice region

The thesis presents a project on the systematic development of possibilities of enhancing activities of amateur music bands in the Pardubice region. The goal is to investigate the situation of young bands with the regional scope of activities and based on the findings establish a project that would be able to support them in necessary areas. At the same time there is a goal to set project operation parameters so that the project would be economically stable. The thesis also surveys the possibilities of external financial support and proposes a strategy on the ways of obtaining these funds. Czech-Portuguese and Portuguese-Czech Cultural Standards

The aim of the thesis is to reveal Czech-Portuguese and Portuguese-Czech cultural standards by using the method of the in-depth interviews with respective respondents. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part introduces the important concepts underlying the practical part. At the beginning of the practical part, the author describes Portugal, its geographical, demographic, historical, economic, political and social background. The following is also a form of Czech-Portuguese relations since their establishment till the present days. The rest of the practical part is devoted to the methodology used, the target group, the description of interviews done and the research of Czech-Portuguese and Portuguese-Czech cultural standards itself. In conclusion, the author presents some tips and advices for Czechs planning to go to Portugal for private or professional reasons.
Cultural dimensions of Spain with emphasis on labor market

The work offers not only general information about Spain and about its culture but also focuses on its economy and current situation on its labor market.
The Significance of Public, Cultural and Economic Diplomacy in Terms of Czech-Korean Bilateral Relations

The Diploma thesis on "The Significance of Public, Cultural and Economic Diplomacy in Terms of Czech-Korean Bilateral Relations" is dedicated to the both official and informal relations between the two countries, the Czech Republic and the Republic of Korea. At first, the author focuses on the history of international relations and defines all related factors. This is followed by a comprehensive definition of each of the types of state diplomacy. The Thesis is also expanded by selected methods that enable to assess the overall perception of countries by the rest of the world. The primary objective of the thesis are Czech-Korean bilateral relations in the historical as well as contemporary context. Their development has certainly undergone significant changes within the last 25 years. The mutual relations are defined by strong differences, but also by surprisingly analogous aspects in the historical, political, cultural or economic fields. It can be assumed that the interfaces encourage further cooperation between the government, the business community and the public, too, creating productive and strategic partnerships with the impact on national economy.
