Six Sigma and improvement of the specific financial control

The thesis, entitled "Six Sigma and improvement of the specific financial control" deals with the Six Sigma methodology in general in theoretical part. It defines the method, the objectives of its establishment, its history, next, theoretical part covers key aspects of Six Sigma, its principles and benefits, tools, management responsibilities for Six Sigma, the COQ in terms of Six Sigma philosophy and most important, the DMAIC methodology, which combines theoretical and empirical part of the project. Practical part illustrates the use of Six Sigma, mainly the process of DMAICR method for ongoing project of the accounting department of financial headquarter of no - named international company operating in Slovakia, which aims to improve the reconciliation process of the Hypotax account as the reason of identifying the weaknesses and significant deficiencies in the process.

Diploma thesis of "Management of Six Sigma projects" is dealing with possibilities of using this technique in specific continuous improvement projects. Main goal is to analyse tools of this method on real situation and proof that Six Sigma is usable to manage this kind of projects. This work will include necessary theoretical basics from project management scope based on generally approved PMBOK methodology. Part of this analysis will be concerned on comparison of PMBOK principles and Six Sigma method. Explanation of Six Sigma basics won't be omitted as well through the fact this method has achieved a significant value in recent times. Practical part of this paper will be composed as case study example of a logistics project in DHL Exel Supply Chain company where I have been employed in United Kingdom.
Corporate Performance Management in connection to Business Intelligence applications

The bachelor thesis is devoted to the issue of Corporate Performance Management (CPM) as a comprehensive approach to managing performance of the company including processes, metrics, methodologies and technologies. The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to bring out a comprehensive view to the questions of Corporate Performance Management, analyse the market and neccessery parts of CPM. The thesis is based on available literature and internet sources dealing with this topic. The thesis is composed of three basic parts. The first part of the thesis is focused on the definition of the Corporate Performance Management and Business Intelligence. It also defines the basic components necessary to successful implementation of CPM systems and differences between CPM and BI solutions. The second part of the thesis analyses in more detail the necessary components of the implementation of CPM, which includes processes, metrics, methodologies, technologies and basic types of applications needed to support the CPM approach. The third part of the thesis deals with the situation of the CPM suites market based on the Gartner's Magic Quadrant for CPM suites 2007 and 2009 and Forrester's Business Performance Solutions: Clash Of The Titans.
Metrics Model In Engigeering Company And Its Initial Implementation in Business Intelligence tools

This thesis deals with possibilities of strategic measurement of performance in Czech industrial firm and application of distinguished metrics using Business Intelligence tools. In particular it is a firm called Linde Pohony s.r.o. that produces axes and half axes for forklifts. This thesis is based on contemporary information about strategic performance management and its tools. The main aim of this thesis is to demonstrate possibilities of using Business Intelligence in order to measure key performance metrics. Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 with its Analysis and Integration services are used to prove it. It was necessary to create model of metrics at first. First part of the thesis deals with several ways and methods how to measure firm's performance. Then a proper method to measure performance is chosen. In following chapters ways how Business Intelligence tools can contribute to industrial firms are discussed. Then the real implementation of few metrics is described following with an outline of firm's software architecture. Main contribution of this thesis is particularly in demonstrating power of Business Intelligence tools when they are used along with Balanced Scorecard methodics in small or medium sized Czech industrial firm. Also Linde Pohony s.r.o. can profit from this work -- considering that many administrative tasks are much easier and faster and management has much better view into their firm. Six Sigma Project Management and its application within SAP

This thesis deals with the Six Sigma project management methodology. In the first part it describes its basic theoretical principles explaining the background and the roots of this approach as well. In the practical part the adaptation to SAP Sigma is described and discussed. Also a case study of the application of SAP Sigma on a particular project -- the FastClose project is introduced and further investigated.
Processes analyse of international financial institution

The final thesis is focused on a process management in praxes. The theoretical part of thesis concludes different techniques of mapping and analysing of a process. The practical part is focused on a practical analyse and mapping of the certain process in international financial institution. On the base of the process analyse are suggested changes to optimize the process.
In-plant logistics optimalization

In a theoretical part of this work there is introduced a general view on logistics and its development, than a view on creating value for customer, basics of lean production, lean thinking and following methods as Six Sigma and Value Stream Mapping. At the end of the theoretical part there is mentioned outsourcing of logistics services and view on relationship between logistics provider and a client. In a practical part there is introduced a project of in-plant logistics optimalization in a factory producing steel pannels for MINI Cooper production. At the beginning there is introduced the factory itself, logistics services provider and a background of the project birth. Than there is a step by step description of a work on the project respecting a DMAIC methodology, it means that it's a classical example of a Six Sigma project using a Value stream mapping tool.
Quantification of the Efficiency of Quality management Systems in a chosen Firm

Object of this thesis is to give elaborated view of ways and methods for officiating of the efficiency of quality management systems. This thesis is describing and evaluating the current state of quality management systems in chosen firm. In this firm are further applied chosen indicators of the efficiency of quality management. On the basis of quantification of quality management systems efficiency are exposed main problems in quality management in selected firm. This thesis contains proposed correctional remedies for chosen problems elimination. On the basis of repeated measures is further efficiency assessed for realized remedies and is discovered current efficiency of quality management systems in chosen firm.
Method Six Sigma in Business Use

The final part of the master thesis deals with practical implementatin of Six Sigma on a project called Reduction of manually allocated remittances in company Capgemini.
