Title: The characteristics of precontest diet in bodybuilding and fitness men Goals: The aim of this thesis is to verify the latest information by non-fiction literature and scientific studies and to give as objective information and procedures about the methods of nutrition, supplementation and drinking regime in preparation for bodybuilding and fitness competitions as possible. Background: The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue of bodybuilding and fitness, both specific and general principles of nutrition, supplementation and drinking regime for adult males. The thesis clarifies particular patterns on this issue. These are e. g. the specifics of the pre-competitive diet, the intake of macro and micronutrients, the right choice of nutritional supplements to prevent muscle loss, the regeneration support, the fat reduction, the carbohydrates looping, the fluid intake. The next part of this thesis clarifies the current state of research, which is associated with this issue thanks to specialized books, periodicals and scientific articles. The assortment of OTC drugs and dietary supplements is still being spread in the Czech Republic. It carries benefits and risks. Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate current opinions, attitudes and knowledge of patients from the Czech Republic about OTC drugs. Methods: The data were collected at the hospital in Svitavy and at the Department of occupational medicine in Svitavy. The interviews were performed in April and July 2013. The data were analysed and described by means of the frequency analysis in Microsoft Excel 2007. Results: The answers were obtained from 169 respondents (44,0 % women and 56,0 % men). The average age of the patients was 50 years. 54,0 % of the patients preferred self-medication before the visit of the doctor. 85,0 % of the patients used at least one OTC drug in the last year. 77,0 % of the patients agreed with the statement that the self-medication could have some risks. The bacherlor thesis, Communication Activities of Walmark company in 2011-2012, describes communicative activities of the company Walmark. The company is a traditional producer of food supplements. The goal is a description of the marketing communication specifics, based on theoretical background of the particular market segment. The company uses all marketing mix tools. This fact defines the whole marketing strategy. The thesis analyses these basic tools, focusing on the most visible channels. Moreover, it defines legal boundaries of the food supplement promotion. Based on the primary research, the thesis evaluates if the brand and the communication strategy is well known among the consumers. It also studies communication focus within the product portfolio. The company also produces non- prescription drugs. The promotion of the non-prescription drugs is mentioned in relation to television commercials, due to their different approach to creativity and content.
Qulity of lipids in foods

The title of the work is "Quality of lipids in food". The work is divided into two parts. The first is theoretical, the other is experimental. The theoretical part is divided into two chapters. The first section describes general chemical composition and properties of lipids. This point is further divided into four sections, which are specifically focused on different groups of lipids. The second theoretical point of attention is focused on the importance of fat in the diet, the synthesis of fatty acids, lipid digestion and issues related to absorbancy and lipid transport. This section also contains a passage which refers to further dietary recommendations, among which highlights the question of the proper quantity and quality of fat contained in food. There are not omitted principles of proper use and storage of fat. The last section of this section deals with dietary supplements and functional foods from which the positive effect on human health is expected. The experimental part is based on chemical analysis of twenty samples of dietary supplements containing n-3 fatty acids. Title: Nutrition monitoring in top Czech Republic women white water slalom athletes in the race period of the season. Aim of the study: Comparison of actual quantitative and qualitative composition of the diet in the Czech water slalom paddlers (women) in the racing period to daily recommended standards for the population group of athletes with a corresponding energy output. Using the results, create both general and individual recommendations and assess the need for the use of supplements in the diet of water slalom athletes. Methods: The thesis is a case study and it is a kind of qualitative research. For our study we chose two main methods. Prospective study method and the method of interview. To determine the total daily energy intake and diet quality inventorial analysis of the four- day dietary record of the respondents was used. Consumer behavior in sport and a healthy diet

This bachelor thesis deals with consumer behaviour in an area of sport and healthy diet. The aim of this thesis is an identification of basic aspects of consumer behavior in the described area. In the thesis is also described the problematics of consumers behavior, there are mentioned factors affecting this kind of consumers and there is also described supply of the products and information about producers and distributors. For achieving the goal was done a survey. Analyzed results discute the problematics of the consumer behavior, their preferences and factors affecting them. Based on the survey were formulated recommendations for producers and distributors of sport and healthy nutrition.
Dietary supplements in sport nutrition

Thesis deals with dietary supplements and their use by amateurs and professionals.The theoretical part is in the 1st part devoted to supplements and their legislation,forms and division.To the 2nd part was selected substances used by athletes and further discussed in terms of their function and effects on the organism.Within the general information was drafted in the 3rd part risks related to the use of dietary supplements due to wrong dosage or concentration and the issue of doping. Research was conducted through a questionnaire survey among professionals and amateurs.Questionnaire was created on the server google.cz and distributed in electronically and printed form.Respondents were south in several ways.There were used personal contacts and sending questionnaires to sport clubs.Research group contained 166 respondents-83 amateurs and 83 professionals.For evaluation were used basic statistical tests-pivot tables and chi-square test.The processing of results was made in Microsoft Excel 2013. Besides aims to map the use of supplements by athletes were expressed two hypotheses. The 1st hypothesis: There are statistically significant differences in knowledge of supplements between amateur and professional athletes.The 2nd hypothesis:There are statistically significant differences in the use of supplements between amateur and professional athletes. The 1st hypothesis was rejected.There were no statistically significant differences in knowledge of supplements between amateurs and professionals.The 2nd hypothesis was dealt separately for four seasonsfor the period of preparation before exercise/after exercise and for the period of the season, again before exercise/after exercise.In periods of preparation (before and after exercise) and after exercise in the season, there were statistically significant differences in the use of supplements between amateurs and professionals. In these cases 2nd hypothesis was confirmed.In the period of seasonbefore exercise was hypothesis rejected. In this period was no statistically significant differences in the use of supplements between amateurs and professionals. In the next question they were asked about learning about supplements.Most of the information were received from teammate/colleague. In the next part were surveyed effects of various factors for the purchase of supplements on a scale of 0 points (least)-10 points (most influence). Price is a factor that rather affects athletes but more the group of amateurs.Quality has a great influence on both groups. The country of origin is a factor which has by amateurs the largest representation at the point 0. Professionals find it like rather affecting. Brand name is a factor in both groups rather affecting. The package (label) doesn't rather affects athletes,more on amateurs. Recommendations known and previous experience are important for both groups of athletes.The influence of habit is not clear, almost all points are represented by the same ratio of votes. Discount and advertising are factors that affect athletes rather not.Influence expert forums and reviews on amateurs is not clear, professionals voted the most mean value. The most common reasons for using supplements are for both groups regeneration, energy source,adding vitamins and joint nutrition.Amateurs monthly invest in the purchase of dietary supplements less (500 CZK),professionals 500 or 1000 CZK. The most preferred forms of supplements are tablets,powders,capsules and liquids,including beverages.Sticks and gels are used more by professionals. Most of respondents use supplements by recommendation exactly or rather. The most common place of purchase supplements are for professionals specialized stores and for both groups also the Internet. Thesis could serve as an information resource for athletes to clarify that dietary supplements should take depending on what they want to achieve.Also it could be used as study material for courses dealing with nutrition and sport.
The Impact of Alcohol Excise Duty on Importers of Food Supplements in the Czech Republic

Bachelor's thesis deals with the import of food supplements from the European Union and third countries subject to excise duty on alcohol. The first part focuses on theoretical knowledge of indirect taxation, harmonization of indirect taxes in the EU, Excise Tax Act and particularly the excise tax on alcohol. The second part analyzes the impact of the Excise Duty on Alcohol Act and the Mandatory Labeling of Spirits Act on importers of food supplements in the Czech Republic.
Healthy Lifestyle as Disease Prevention

The content of the thesis is the research of lifestyle of working citizens of the Czech Republic. The principles of a healthy lifestyle, the most common infectious and non-infectious diseases resulting from non-compliance with these principles are described. Based on the survey results, a new preventive program (for health insurance companies) aimed at regular prevention is proposed.
