99 Summary Buberův kulturní sionismus a Masarykův humanismus - komparativní studie Buber's Cultural Zionism and Masaryk's Humanism - Comparative Study Marie Venclová This thesis deals with various aspects of understanding the term nation, its roots and dimensions in the works of Martin Buber and Tomas Garrigue Masaryk. In these texts the philosophers present their attitudes and ideas about the meaning, origin and content of the existence of a nation. The results of the comparison show, that their points of view are similar in more than a few aspects and what most importantly bonds their ideas is the moral, spiritual and cultural understanding of the meaning of a nation. Buber's cultural Zionism as well as Masaryk's humanism are also concepts based on critical self-reflection and need of education, which serves to broaden horizons and identify positive values in one's own nation. Motivation for this thesis resided in unique legal position of the Jewish minority in Czechoslovakia after the First World War. Based on the results of the comparison we...

A set of three painted coats of arms in stucco cartouches on the triumphal arch of the Chapel of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles Borromeo in the former Vlašský Hospital in Prague's Lesser Town; 3. Heraldic coats of arms and insignia on ten wooden plinths of statues of Bohemian patrons in the archdeanery church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Tachov. The article yields a series of named sets of coats of arms, and the identification of most persons to whom they belonged to, including a comparison with coats of arms presented in other sources (seals, designs on deeds for coats of arms, old prints). Stryhal, Jan ; Sládek, Ivan (advisor) ; Huth, Radan (referee)
Temperature inversions in the boundary layer over Prague Abstract The main objective of this study is to analyze temperature inversions in the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) over Prague. In the first part, the concept of the ABL is defined and main theoretical aspects of air stratification are explored. The main part of the background research summarizes current knowledge of temperature inversions, especially how the landscape pattern influences their development and parameters under different synoptic situations, and methods used for their detection, measurement and evaluation. Considering the theme of the thesis, main geographic factors influencing temperature inversions in the area of Prague are also defined. The focus of actions is placed on inversions analysis based upon time series of Praha-Libuš rawinsonde station. Homogeneity of used data is tested and all inversions within the 2000- meters-thick-layer close to the ground are derived. Diurnal, annual and interannual frequency variations are described. Significance of long-term trends is tested and trends are compared to data from Prostějov and Kümmersbruck stations. Keywords: temperature inversions, boundary layer, climate, Prague
