Development of the selected city using methods of strategic management

The principal aim of the thesis is to evaluate the current situation of selected city by the methods of strategic management and design of optimal strategy for its further development.Fractional objectives were to determine the internal state of the city, through a summary of strengths and weaknesses, and to determine the external condition by transcrabing options, as well as threats that the city can expect. Another objective was to detect groups or organizations that affect the city or the city has a contrary effect upon them. Also, the aim was to determine the point of view of city management at their strategic management of the city and to determine the point of view of residents of the city at its course and services.
Socioeconomic analysis of Písek

The work is aimed for creating characteristics of town Písek through socio-economic analysis and the presentation and evaluation of strategic urban development plans, which are based on a SWOT analysis already created by the town itself. The demographic indicators, indicators of economic development, labor market and unemployment are step by step analyzed in individual chapters and compared to the same indicators of the South Bohemia and Czech Republic. The analysis also includes transport, technical and social infrastructure, culture, sport, tourism, crime and quality of environment. Finally is analyzed the management of town budget and is presented a current municipal government of the town. Most of the findings are the basis of the SWOT analysis, which corresponds with those of strategic development plans in certain areas.

The goal of this thesis is to analyze current activities of the company ARTE spol. s r.o. which operates on the market with construction, municipal and agriculture machinery with the aim to find and describe possible strengths and weaknesses and in the same time also possible market possibilities and threats. In the connection to this analysis I will try to create a strategic plan, consisting of a set of recommendations for the upcoming years of the analyzed company. This will be done considering the recent, a bit unfavourable, progress of the construction industry after the year 2009.
Strategic brand management in social networks

In my bachelor thesis I tried to describe the possibility of the brand support and strategic management in social networks. The theoretical part describes the psychological aspects of the popularity of social networking and includes several studies describing the psychological portrait of the potential users of social networks, which could help companies to understand who belongs to their target group in case of using social networking as a marketing tool. The thesis includes analysys of the social networking environment, so that czech companies of different sizes could understand the use of its potential. The questionnaire, which subject is the use of the social networking environment by companies for commercial purposes, is salso included in the practical part of the thesis. The answers are provided by the representative of Communications and Marketing Department at GE Money Bank Czech Republic, Mr. Jan Vyšehradský. The theoretical part and the example of GE Money Bank describe why it is appropriate to use social networking as a marketing tool, and what results from it can be expected. The main idea of the practical part of the thesis is creating a strategic plan that may be used as a guide to Czech entrepreneurs for establishing, evaluating and managing corporate pages in social networks such as Facebook.

In this work is analyzed Central Bohemia Region Developement Programme. The main goal is to become familiar with the contents of the plan. In the teoretical part are described theoretical basis of strategic planning. In the same part is provided short profile of the Central Bohemia Region: the characteristics of geografy, transport, economy etc. The practical part briefly summarized and evaluate the contents of the stategic plan. The specific project with grant request is based on the needs and critical parts, mentioned in the plan.
“The Development Programme of Vodňany Town” as an instrument for the support of a local business in town Vodňany

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate a local strategic document called "The Development Programme of Vodňany Town" ("Program rozvoje městě Vodňany") as a possible instrument for the strategic support of a local business in town Vodňany. The issue is examined primarily from the perspective of the local entrepreneurs and their intrinsic needs. The first part includes the basic theoretical background of the issue and definitions of the key concepts of this thesis, namely -- entrepreneurship, entrepreneur, business environment, business support and strategic planning. The theoretical part is followed by a characterization of the town of Vodňany and a basic description of "The Development Programme of Vodňany Town", in particular topics which are related with the support of entrepreneurship. The main part of the practical is a result of a probing survey of local entrepreneurs. The aim of this survey was to ascertain the views of the local entrepreneurs to local entrepreneurship support and the town development plan of Vodňany -- "The Development Programme of Vodňany Town". "The Development Programme of Vodňany Town" can be regarded as a good base for the support of a local business and for the strategic development of the local business environment. However, it contains a number of insufficiencies, which can substantially prevent the implementation of various measures to promote entrepreneurship in practice, and thereby reduce its real contribution. Examples of these insufficiencies are eg. absence of a concrete financial plan, the absence of criteria for evaluating projects, ignoring important factors which affect the business environment and lack of communication between the town and business entities. Materials for processing this thesis were obtained from literature, the available statistical data, survey and structured interviews.
Planning in Public Administration

The subject of the thesis is the description of the planning process at the level of strategic management in public administration and analysis of current planning documents at the municipal level of the 3rd degree in the Vysočina region. The first part defines the basic concepts of strategic planning at the municipal level and also defines the methods and procedures applied in the development of strategic plans. The second part analyses the specific strategic documents of municipalities with extended powers in the Vysočina region. At the end of the thesis some recommendations are proposed that could help municipalities pursue the process of strategic planning and management.
