Clouds and Hills Generation Using Fractal Geometry
Tůma, Petr ; Zuzaňák, Jiří (referee) ; Venera, Jiří (advisor)
This work is concerned with generation of landscape objects using fractal geometry. In this work is explained what the fractal is and terms associated with them. The other parts describe basic theoretical ideas and implementation of these algorithms. The Capital theme is generation of models clouds and hills in values of input parameters, their presentation and date media saved there. The project includes my algorithm extension for hills generation of course. At the conclusion of this work are summarized tendencies of next development and my results.
L-Systems and Their Applications in Computer Graphics
Sojma, Zdeněk ; Čermák, Martin (referee) ; Koutný, Jiří (advisor)
This Bachelor's thesis describes deterministic context-free L-systems (D0L-systems), which function is parallel rewriting symbols in string for purpose of modeling plant-like structures, mainly plant leaves. Next it shows how to use such L-systems in computer graphics and explains usage of stochastic L-systems. They effect topology and geometry of plant by randomizing interpretation of the L-system and allow us to generate whole class of respectively different but still simile leaves. L-system interpreter is implemented in .NET framework with OpenGL library.
Fractals and Their Applications in Computer Graphics
Tesař, Martin ; Čermák, Martin (referee) ; Koutný, Jiří (advisor)
First part of this bachelors thesis consists of fractal theory, Hausdorff dimension and their applications in computer graphics. In second part is choosen idea for application. It is interactive creation of flame fractals. In this section, there is defined mathematical system of iterated functions, that is the heart of flame fractals. After mathematical examination follows analysis of original algorithm for creation of flame fractals. Thesis continues with methods for image improvement and suggests new enhancements.
Discrete Simulation of Programmable Systems
Mynář, Pavel ; Zuzaňák, Jiří (referee) ; Mlích, Jozef (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is the design and implementation of software library for discrete simulation of programmable units and their mutual communication and implementation of several illustrative examples based on it. The library is designed to be platform independent and as robust and simple to use as possible.
Multigrammars and Parsing Based on Them
Fiala, Jiří ; Lukáš, Roman (referee) ; Meduna, Alexandr (advisor)
This document deals with introduction focused on pragmatically oriented research at branch of theoretical computer science and with presentation of designed methods for chosen application topics. At this study the theoretical subject is represented by kind of generative system - multisequential grammar and application topics are chosen according to possibilities supported by multisequential grammars. In order to follow results published by Thompson (see [9]), Lindenmayer (see [26]), Mandelbrot (see [8]) and also studies published by Morneau (see [17]), which shows the relation between natural laws and human discipline - mathematics, we study the applications of multi-sequential grammars from two points of view: generative L-systems (which further includes applications of fractal geometry and biomathematics) and natural language processing (which further includes the design of proper abstract language). Some problems related to compiler construction are also mentioned.
Fractals in Computer Graphics
Heiník, Jan ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This Master's thesis deals with history of Fractal geometry and describes the fractal science development. In the begining there are essential Fractal science terms explained. Then description of fractal types and typical or most known examples of them are mentioned. Fractal knowledge application besides computer graphics area is discussed. Thesis informs about fractal geometry practical usage. Few present software packages or more programs which can be used for making fractal pictures are described in this work. Some of theirs capabilities are described. Thesis' practical part consists of slides, demonstrational program and poster. Electronical slides represents brief scheme usable for fractal geometry realm lectures. Program generates selected fractal types. Thesis results are projected on poster.
Geometry of Life-Supporting Forms in an Architectural Design
Volnohradský, Radan
Process of visual perception described in the first article is elaborately explored by neuroesthetic. It is a link to understand incoming images and reactions in brain. In this context it points out significance and beauty of fractal structures. Fractals and their use in urban design are content of next chapter. Than the focus is on explaining harmonic proportions (primarily Golden mean) and geometric forms which are mostly found in fractals. It is mentioned basic Pythagorean geometry with its metaphysical aspects. Same aspects are hidden in mysterious picture Flower of life and its geometrical transformation to Platonic solids - the matrix of universe. At the end the relation between geometry and architectural design is revealed and substantiated.
Fractal of DNA sequence data
Nedvěd, Jiří ; Čech, Petr (referee) ; Valla, Martin (advisor)
This project is looking for fractal structury in DNA sequence data, which be maped in square ACGT. First, this project is introduced in problematics of fractals and targeted on making of Sierpinski gasket. Second, the project is introduced in DNA and DNA sequence. Next is sketched now known fractal’s structures in DNA sequence data or fractal’s structure closed DNA sequence. Then will changed metod chaos game of Sierpinski gasket to square ACGT, in where will drawen map of DNA sequences. Next, these pictures will processed by Box Counting Method and Power Spectrum Method.
Special diffractive element based on fractals
Kala, Miroslav ; Bednář, Josef (referee) ; Kotačka, Libor (advisor)
This diploma project is focused on use the fractals in diffractive optical elements. Properties of diffraction patterns of various fractals are investigated. Properties of some simpler non-fractal structures are investigated too. Diffraction patterns are created by computer with program written in Delphi programming language. Potentialities of use the fractals in security optical elements (holograms) and their advantages against the classic non-fractal structures.
ECG Signal Compression Based on Fractals and RLE
Němcová, A.
Compression of ECG signal is up to date challenge. There are many methods for ECG compression. This paper focuses on fractal based compression method. The method is implemented in MATLAB and compared with results in source article. New single cycle method for ECG signal compression that combines fractals and run length encoding (RLE) is created. Both methods are compared with method based on wavelet transform (WT) and RLE and up to date wavelet based Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT) algorithm.
