Role of the media in decision-making about charity to help the needy
Slabionová, Jozefína ; Smékal, Vladimír (advisor) ; Sládek, Karel (referee)
"Role of the media in decision-making about charity to help the needy" This thesis deals with the role of media in decision-making of an individual relating to charitable activities in the Czech society. The theoretical part turns attention to both basic topics, ie, the media and charity. The part concerning the media tries to show the linkage and interaction of media, as means of communication, and society, as the object of their action and influence. It deals with means of communication and subsequent transformation of the society. The thesis does not forget to mention responsibility of the media and the related ethics of media. The part relating to the charity presents output data from realized research on the charity work in the Czech Republic, information on donations and on credibility of organizations providing assistance to the needy. Conclusion of the theoretical part focuses on cooperation of the media and charitable organizations in organizing the most significant charitable events. The practical part is devoted to the survey of public opinion itself through a questionnaire survey. In this investigation, the focus is on whether a person contributes to charity, and what the main impetus for a donation is. The thesis confirms the hypothesis that the media play an important role in...
Kinesiotaping
Bláhová, Štěpánka ; Ježková, Martina (advisor) ; Suzan, Zuzana (referee)
There are many factors defining the shape and configuration of the medial longitudinal arch of the foot. In the physiotherapeutical practice, we strive to alter and improve its supportive and propulsive function. Kinesiotaping, as one of the currently very popular methods, has still not been sufficiently elucidated according to the evidence based medicine approach. The practical part of the presented thesis contributes to a better understanding of the potential effect of kinesiotaping on pronated foot using quantitative and objective methods. We evaluated the parameters obtained by footprint analysis from an experimental group (n=12) in order to investigate if they improve after 3 weeks of kinesiotaping as compared to a control group (n=12). The relationship between static measurements and dynamic tests of foot postural function was also taken into account. The results may complement the study of Luque-Suareze et al. (2014) which presents short-time effect of kinesiotaping on pronated foot.
Estimation of risks associated with the occurrence of synthetic thyroid
PECH, Michal
The aim of this work was to provide a comprehensive overview of published findings regarding thyroid, thyroid hormones, their concentrations, stability in the aquatic environment and effect on fish. To determine the consumption of synthetic thyroid hormones in the Czech Republic, the data on the distribution of the drugs, in which they are contained, is analyzed over a period of five years (2011 - 2015). This has provided information about the issued amount of active ingredients i.e. levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3) for each year. T4 consumption increased over five years, except for 2013, with the highest consumption in 2015 corresponding to 34.6 kg of T4. T3 consumption ranged only in tens of grams before prescribing drugs containing T3 in the Czech Republic was ceased in September 2013. Based on the distribution of synthetic thyroid hormones, an estimate of concentrations that could normally occur in surface water was performed (PECRIVER). Two variants of the calculation were performed. The first variant was based on consumption of synthetic thyroid hormones. The second variant was based on excretion of thyroid hormones (including natural ones) by humans. Each of these variants was counted with the F value, i.e. the rate of removal of the chemical during the WWTP wastewater treatment process, from two different sources. The first source was the study by Svanfelt et al. (2010) where the efficacy of thyroid hormone removal during the WWTP purification process was 66% for T4 (this value was not determined for T3). The second source was EPI Suite software, which calculated the theoretical efficacy of removal of T4 and T3 at WWTP (35.83% for T4 and 5.36% for T3). The resulting concentrations were relatively low in the first variant. The median of the estimated concentrations of thyroid hormones in surface water with the efficacy of removing thyroid hormones during the WWTP purification process, taken from the study by Svanfelt et al. (2010), ranged from 0.6 - 0.7 ng-l-1 for T4. Using the theoretical value of the elimination rate calculated using the EPI Suite program, the median ranged from 1.1 to 1.3 ng-l-1 for T4 and from 0.0007 to 0.0025 ng-l-1 for T3 before it ceased to be used in September 2013. In the second variant, the resulting concentrations were somewhat higher. Median of the environmental concentrations of thyroid hormone with the removal rate taken from the study by Svanfelt et al. (2010) was determined to 1.5 ng-l-1 for T4. With the EPI Suite removal efficacy, the median was determined to 2.9 ng-l-1 for T4 and 0.13 ng-l-1 for T3. Estimated concentrations of thyroid hormones in surface water may currently seem relatively low to have a significant effect on fish, since the lowest thyroid hormone concentration at which any effect was observed ranged in tens of ng-l-1. However, it should be borne in mind that thyroid hormones enter the surface water as a result of incomplete removal during waste water treatment and fish are exposed to these hormones over a long period of time, meaning that even seemingly low concentration may pose a potential risk to aquatic organisms including fish. The fate of these hormones in the environment is therefore to be judged by further studies and toxicological experiments.
Choreographical strategies of aerobic fitness
Kobelková, Tereza ; Novotná, Viléma (advisor) ; Černá, Jana (referee)
Topic: Choreographical strategies of aerobic fitness teams Objective: To find out according to given criteria, which types of transitions from formation to formation in the competition FISAF fitness aerobic, have the highest impression (effect) on the observer. The types of transitions evaluated are; short and simple transitions, combination of transitions and long and complex transitions. Methods: Sequential mixed method was used to obtain the results. Three criteria, specific for the solutions of space and floor pathways, have been designed for indirect observation and quantitative analysis of the selected choreographies. Second criterion was evaluated by twenty experts through participatory observation and the results were quantified. Qualitative analysis was used in the second part of the third criterion and for all results of the quantitative analysis. Method of comparison was used to compare all results. Conclusion: Most effective showed to be the short and simple transitions, followed by combination of transitions. Long and complex transitions were least impressive for the observer. KEY WORDS: Space and floor pathways solutions, effect, choreography, aerobic fitness, creation
Effect of selected antiparasitic drugs on Trichobilharzia regenti
Lípová, Pavlína ; Horák, Petr (advisor) ; Chanová, Marta (referee)
Praziquantel is a drug of choice for the treatment of schistosomiasis caused by human species of the genus Schistosoma. The effect of the drug on avian schistosomes is not completely known. Monensin is a drug used for the treatment of coccidiosis, and its effect on avian schistosomes is unknown. In the thesis, we studied the effect of these drugs on avian schistosome Trichobilharzia regenti. Under in vitro conditions, both drugs were effective after 6 hours of incubation. Praziquantel causes an extensive vacuolization of the whole body, while monensis treatment causes vacuolization of the anterior part of body. Higher concentration of praziquantel causes depolymerization of myofilaments and separation of surface membranes. Monensin did not impair muscles, but caused separation of tegumental layer from the basal membrane. Schistosomula in ducks were not killed by the drugs under in vivo conditions, but the worms were damaged by the drugs. Praziquantel caused vacuolization of the tegument and separation of membranes from the surface. Only vacuolization of the tegument occurred in schistosomula from ducks treated with monensin . No damage to the muscles was observed in the case of both drugs. Histological evaluation of the nerve tissue showed that thero no difference between treated and control duck....

Modification of Vocal Tracks in SW Post-Production of Music
Trkal, Tomáš ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Černocký, Jan (advisor)
This thesis describes a design and an implementation of a vocal tracks processing application. The application consists of several sub-modules representing audio processors and effects. It is implemented as a plugin created with the VST technology. The plugin provides a simple control system and an integrated database of presets which help mainly less experienced users to significantly speed up the process of processing the vocal tracks. The user evaluation shows that application is successful both in creating demos and professional mixing of music tracks.
