Selected Bibliotherapeutic Works for Children and Youth in Leisure Education for Reading

The aim of this thesis is an introduction of the selected literary works that might prove beneficial in implementation for purposes of bibliotherapy in leisure education of literacy for children and adolescents. The thesis divides into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is concerned with bibliotherapy, its history, forms, methods and associated expressive therapies. The thesis then establishes selected approaches and methods commonly used in bibliotherapy, along with a preview and basic introduction into works that form the basis for completing methodical worksheets in the practical part. The practical part focuses on verification and reflection on methodical worksheets for middle childhood learners in after-school care.
Reading as Psychotherapy and the Role of Imagination in the Work of Catherine Storr

The aim of the bachelor thesis is a detailed analysis of Marianne Dreams by Catherine Storr focusing on the psychological meaning and therapeutic role of children's literature. The theoretical part of the thesis connects the issues of fantasy literature and psychology with respect to the role of psychotherapy, which is related to the escape from the reality, liberation through imagination, as well as the topics such as time travel and dreams travel. Particular attention is paid to the personal, literary and professional experience of the writer and psychologist Catherine Storr. The literary analysis of the novel, which links reality with fantasy, deals with the following issues: the portraits of the child and adult characters, the relationships between children, the role of particular motifs (bicycle, one-eyed stones, grid, etc.) and themes (illness, liberation, etc.). The conclusion sums up the representation of traumatic experience, recovery and renewal, and the moral meaning of the story. The thesis includes a questionnaire research dealing with the parents reading to their children, inspired by Catherine Storr's ideas and related to the importance of passing literature to children. This online questionnaire is processed through graphs.
The using of developmental bibliotherapy in stressful situations of preschool and primary school age children

The diploma thesis covers about the use of developmental bibliotherapy in stressful situations of preschool and primary school age children. In first chapter thesis defined bibliotherapy, especially developmental bibliotherapy. In second chapter thesis directed characteristics of preschool and primary school age children, characterizes the most common stressful situations, with which children of this age can meet - divorce of their parents, illnesses and quarantine, bereavement or toleration of difference. The goal of this diploma thesis is making the stories and accompany them with proposals of bibliotherapy activities for working in stressfull situations of preschool and primary school age children.
Bibliotherapy with abandoned children

Bachelor thesis "Bibliotherapy with children in children's homes" is about using the bibliotherapy for children in children's homes. The main target is sum up all theoretic information of bibliotherapy and children's home and then makes a suggestion of suitable bibliotherapeutics techniques and literature for children, who live in children's homes. This project should use as a inspiration for specialist and all people, who would like to use bibliotherapy with abandoned children. The secondary target is to determine the availability of literature and materials related to bibliotherapy. The project is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with bibliotherapy, its theory and examples of application in practice in abroad and in the Czech Republic. The second chapter focuses on the children's homes and in particular the problems of children, who place there. The final chapter presents a proposal bibliotherapeutics techniques, tailored directly to the specific problems of children in children's homes. The result is a proposal bibliotherapeutics techniques and literature focused on specific problems of children in children's homes.
Use of bibliotherapy with drug addicted people

This work named 'The use of bibliotherapy in people with drug addiction' deals with bibliotherapy in specific kind of people who are drug addicts. In the work is shown theoretical knowledge of the problems with drug addiction, the issues of bibliotherapy and the experience in usually used techniques of bibliotherapy with the drug-addicted people. The work also contains lists of appropriate literature with the topic of addiction from a different perspective. The main aim of this work is to suggest suitable techniques which can help to drug-addicted people using the bibliotherapy. These techniques are not tested in practice. Using of bibliotherapy for older school age children with ADHD

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of bibliotherapy and possibilities of its use in older school age children with ADHD diagnosis. The objective of this thesis is to create, to implement and to evaluate a bibliotherapeutic program for the defined group. The first theoretical chapters defines the concept of bibliotherapy, its types, forms, objectives and the process of compiling the bibliotherapic program. The next chapters describes the ADHD disorder, its etiology, diagnostics, ADHD manifestations and the treatment and education of a child with ADHD. The last theoretical chapter describes the use of bibliotherapy for children with ADHD in our country and abroad. The practical part occupies with layout of a bibliotherapeutic program and its implementation. It is focused on the development of social skills and self-reflection and also on attention training for children with ADHD. The program have been done with a small group of boys with ADHD aged 13 - 15. Structured and unstructured observations and unstructured interview was used as a research method. The results of the research refer to the benefits and risks of bibliotherapeutic work with children with ADHD.
Contemporary condition of patient's libraries in hospitals and possibilities of their next development

This diploma thesis deals with the current state of libraries in hospitals for patients and their potential future development. At the beginning deals the work with patient's libraries in historical context. The following part introduces to communication processes in hospitals and bibliotherapy. An integral part of the work are evaluated data collected during the survey among hospital patients. End of the paper offers some solutions and directions in which the library for patients in hospitals could go in the future.
Use of bibliotherapy as a form of reeducation in children with dyslexia

The diploma thesis deals with the posibility of using bibliotherapy as a form of reeducation in children with dyslexia. The diploma thesis contains theoretical knowledge about the isme of dyslexia and the definitiv of the expressive method - bibliotherapy. The theoretical part also presents findings from the use of bibliotherapy specifically in children with dyslexia. The practical part deals with the application of thein own bibliotherapeutic material in children diagnosed with dyslexia agend 9 to 11 years and its evaluation. The practical material is focused on the development of impaired congnitive functions in children with dyslexia. The main goal of this work is to evaluace the extent to which the propřed material can be used in reeducation in children with dyslexia. KEY WORDS dyslexia, reeducation, bibliotherapy.
