The Elements of New Age in Contemporary Judaism (so called Jewish Renewal)

Master thesis "The Elements of New Age in Contemporary Judaism (so called Jewish Renewal)" deals with mutual relationship between Judaism and New Age movement. In the first part it describes their main mutual elements such as holism, monism, environmentalism, tender issues and esotericism. The second part is focused on Jewish Renewal movement, which aroused in 60's of 20th century in the United states of America. This movement is transdenominational neoschasidic movement, which tries to renew Judaism through Chasidic and kabalistic thoughts adapted to present days, it emphasizes personal spirituality. The third part talks about the Jewish elements within new Age, which are mainly kabbalah and Jewish mysticism. The fourth part describes the phenomenon of dual religious identity, whose the best known groups are Messianic Jews, Jews for Allah, Jewbus and Hinjews.

A theological view of healing in Christianity and selected spiritual streams of the 20th century

DOLEŽAL Rafael: A theological view of healing in Christianity and selected spiritual streams of the 20th century, Praha: Teologická fakulta Univerzity Karlovy, 2012. The subject of the diploma thesis consists in study of healing, which is seen from a position of fundamental theology. Attention is paid especially to those claiming to be classified as miraculous ones. A theologically seized recovery is then compared with the concept of healing in selected spiritual streams of the 20th century, belonging to the group New Age. Unusual Spiritual Experiences in the context of Occulture

This work studies the environment of contemporary alternative spirituality in the Czech Republic, specifically unusual spiritual experiences and techniques for inducing them. It is based on long-term field research utilizing the method of participant observation carried out primarily in the environment of neo-shamanism, but also the use of psychedelics, dark therapy, and other movements and practices. I perceive and analyze these practices both as psychotechnologies - i.e. techniques through which their users strive to alter their thinking - as well as spiritual techniques aimed at establishing and cultivating a relationship with the spiritual world. The focus of this study is a comparison of neo-shamanism and other practices in three main aspects: the induction of experiences, the connection between spiritual experiences and the actor's life as a whole, and the changes in the perception of reality brought about by long- term practicing. I point out that in all these areas, techniques traditionally thought of as closely related exhibit fundamental differences. A non-negligible part of this study consists of methodological and theoretical considerations. Cathedral today

The main topic of the Diploma thesis is a complex design to rescue cathedral Notre-Dame in Paris. The work is firstly focused on the reconstruction of the structure including its collapsed parts and preserving a link to the destructive fire in 2019. The mainstay of the thesis is a design of new roof space and its use by broad public. Due to uncertainties about the structure stability disrupted by the fire a great emphasis has been put on the weight reduction of the newly built roof structure. The design makes a genuine attempt to be sensitive with respect to the spiritual function of the cathedral, thus the public roof access is separated from the cathedral itself thanks to a newly built underground spaces that are also included in the design.

Messengers of the Light: Angelic Spirituality in Czech Context

This thesis addresses non-traditional angelic spirituality experienced outside of traditional churches. This spirituality is specific for its everyday communication and contact with angelic beings. The present research examines contemporary angelic spirituality using a lens of relational ontology and semiotic analysis, focusing on how recurrent communication acts allow the emergence of specific subjectivities and identifies the main processes behind this phenomenon - recognition, interpretation and reaction. Research documents specific techniques allowing the formation of angelic subjectivities and redefinition of human subjectivities; prayer, reading cards, guided meditation, different types of clairvoyance and interpretation of signs. Deliberately using these techniques leads to re/definition of subjectivity of a practitioner (through clairvoyant insights into the past lives) and transforms him into human/incarnated soul. These communication acts further form a subjectivity of deceased souls, with which practitioners of angelic spirituality are often in contact, together with the subjectivity of dark beings, which cannot interact with a person without invitation it first and a subjectivity of angelic beings, which are defined by their unconditional support of their charges. Rainbow family: etnografické zkoumání jedné soudobé hippies komunity

This thesis analysis and describes contemporary hippie community Rainbow Family, using sociological methods and knowledge. It examines behaviour and motives of its members and attempts to understand their way of thinking. The findings were acquired during field research with the usage of ethnographic methods: participant observation and non-structured interviews with the participants of the meeting. A part of ethnographical research is also authors attempt to capture his/hers attitude towards the examined before and after own research. Considering the limited experience with field research, this thesis will be focused mainly on things that were possible to examine within the collected ethnographic data. In this study are confronted ideals of the participants on how the meetings should work with real experience from the research. Thanks to this, the weaknesses of the working of the community come to surface and so does situation where the structure of the community finds its limits. The author tries to capture the most complex situations he can, all of which form the experience of a typical participant of the meeting. The author does not aim to affect the laws that apply in the researched community. He aims to capture the authentic experience of meeting the Rainbow Family.
