Actors' behaviour and the militarization of space: Cooperation vs. conflict
Gréková, Lenka ; Doboš, Bohumil (advisor) ; Střítecký, Vít (referee)
The thesis deals with the question of militarization and weaponization of the outer space and it analyse the actor's behaviour regarding space militarization and weaponization. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether the key actors cooperate or not in dealing with the use of the outer space. The relations between the key actors are analysed from the perspective of the game theory, particularly with the two models of behaviour: prisoner's dilemma and the tragedy of the commons. These models are used based on the assumption that they best describe the relations between actors in international relations as either cooperative or competitive. The aim is to evaluate whether these two models are valid in researching the behaviour of the key actors in the question of militarization of space. The analysed actors are the United States, Russia and China, as these are the three most important and successful space-faring nations with the biggest potential in the future of space exploration. Analysing their relations, the thesis attempts to evaluate whether the two models of the game theory are valid or not. For evaluating the prisoner's dilemma, bilateral relations are analysed, for the tragedy of the commons, their multilateral relations are analysed. What we learn from the analysis is that both models...

Control unit for CubeSat
Stav konfigurace FPGA je pravidelně kontrolován a v případě zjištěné chyby dochází automaticky k rekonfiguraci FPGA a návratu jednotky do výchozího stavu.

The creation of the image of the race to the Moon in Wings of the Motherland and Aviation+Cosmonautics between 1961 and 1972
Čermák, Ondřej ; Cihlářová, Gabriela (advisor) ; Jirků, Jan (referee)
Bachelor thesis "The Creation of the Image of the Race to the Moon in Wings of the Motherland and Aviation + Cosmonautics between 1961 and 1972" deals with the development of the Moonrace between United States of America and their rival Soviet Union as it is described on the pages of the above-mentioned periodicals. These periodicals mostly contain topics that can be characterized as popular scientific or even purely scientific. In their early years they were generally oriented upon aviation and parachuting. During the 1960s as the public interest for space was growing the periodicals adopted astronautics into its range of topics as well. This paper tries to reveal if the mediation of the Moonrace topic somehow twisted its general image for the sake of USA or Soviet Union. At the same level it aims to tell what were the reasons behind and how much space did the Moonrace and its development occupy on the pages of these periodicals. This paper methodically analyzes the contents of each periodical that is tied to the topic of Moonrace. Afterwards it carries out comparisons and generalizations based on the results of the previous analysis. Equally there is performed a quantitative content analysis of the articles on astronautic and space in general to get objective data. The analysis is based on the...
Art, architecture and design in the space age
Wollner, Jan ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Hubatová - Vacková, Lada (referee)
Cosmic inspiration influenced huge amount of different artistic material. It was the only one topic, which went through categories such as high art and popular culture, fine and applied arts, all the medias, official and independent production, state ideology and interest of common man. Thesis tries to go through these categories high and low, fine and applied, official and independent. It divils its material into thematic chapters to achieve this goal. First of them Expand your mind deals with projects of visionary architecture, which does not try to create new "cosmic" kapes but expand - with Marshall McLuhan -man's mind and senses. Then Gravitationless state describes petting loose of Earth as principal feeling of space age. Peace and Freedom play role of contradictory ideological terms to fights between politicians, artists and spaceships. How Does Space Look Like is a question for representation of cosmic topics between abstraction and realism ant the last charter Space for Children does not show reduced version of space for children but "adult" ideological construction of connection between the youngest generation and future in space. Individual chapters are preceded by theoretical introductin The World Where We Will Live Tommorow and The Word We Live In. It is a confrontation of...
