The GAP in Brno
Remutová, Petra ; Hrivňák, Vlado (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the completion of a gap in the center of Brno on the Cabbage Market. The main task was to find a suitable program for the building. Another important factor that influenced the design was the size of the gap and its possibilities of use. Due to the small dimensions of the gap, the building is situated in height. At the same time, emphasis is placed on preserving the character of the Zelný trh, so that the height of the building corresponds to the surrounding buildings and at the same time so as not to disturb the view from the town hall tower. The building also offers a viewing area. The concept of the building is based on the idea of a shared house. There are both shared workspaces and shared housing. Thanks to this concept, the house is fully used and at the same time it removes the barriers of individual anonymity and creates social ties between the users of the building. The construction of the house is designed to allow internal variability of space and possible adaptation of the house to the future to different user requirements. On the ground floor, a street parterre is preserved, which completes and characterizes the Zelný trh.

The GAP in Brno
Choutka, Jiří ; Selnarová, Elisabeth (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
In my work I deal with the design of an apartment building in a gap in the center of Brno at Kopečná and Husova streets. The gap is located on a relatively deep place, which is bounded on the northeast, from Husova Street, by a steep and high slope (the body of the road between the Main Railway Station and Šilingr Square). The gap is located in a busy place and is exposed to noise from Husova Street. There are important historical and architecturally valuable buildings in the area. The functional content of the building is housing. In the design, I try to respond appropriately to the surrounding situation and adapt the building functionally and operationally. The effort was to meet all the requirements of the housing operation and insert new value into the existing city structure.
The GAP in Brno
Šujanová, Radka ; Němec, Roman (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The task of the bachelor's thesis was to design a suitable structure for our chosen gap. My design deals with a gap on Sladová Street. Quite an unattractive location is hidden behind Mendel Square, but which is a great shortcut to Špilberk Castle. Nowadays, the gap is ugly, overgrown and fenced with corrugated iron, on which some "artists" decorated with their thought of art. The analyses I performed last semester showed that the plots never had a building on them. In addition, there is an exploration tunnel of the tram line. An insight into the zoning plan revealed that the tram line below Špilberk is still being considered, so I had to adapt the proposal to this fact. So, my design is a multifunctional house, which is mostly residential. I incorporated the tunnel into the house by basically making it an attraction for the public as part of a large cafe with an underground bar and club. The benefit of the design for the site should be to make the street more attractive, to fill an unsightly gap and to create new living spaces near the centre.
Mixed-use building in Mikulov
Lovečková, Martina ; Klimecký, Martin (referee) ; Gerö, Jiří (advisor) ; Brzoň, Roman (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the design of a new multifunctional building in Mikulov. The work is based on a study in the subject AG035 - Studio of Architectural Creation 5. The proposed building is located in the town of Mikulov. The building itself is on a slightly sloping plot under the castle gardens, on Alfonse Mucha Street. The terraces in the courtyard are already on a very sloping plot. The building consists of 1 building with 4 floors and an attic. One floor is completely sunk into the ground like a basement. It is used for underground garages and cellar nurseries for apartment owners. The ground floor has a public function. There is a newsagent, a beauty salon and a wine bar, which also includes a wine cellar under the walls. On the 2nd and 3rd floors, housing units of various sizes are designed. The attic is unused. The construction system is combined. The foundation structure is made of a tub made of waterproof concrete, the inner load-bearing walls are made of ceramic fired Porotherm brick blocks. In the basement, reinforced concrete columns with girders are designed. The ceiling structures are made of reinforced concrete slabs with reinforced concrete wreaths. The supporting structure of the roof is made of a wooden purlin system.
Children, Youth and Adult Leisure Centre
Prachař, Jakub ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Kacálek, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is based on my architectural study which was made in the winter semester of my third year. The subject of my thesis is children, youth and adult leisure centre, which is located in a gap between the apartment building and the gymnasium on Mojmírovo náměstí in Brno-Královo Pole. The building is intended to complement the needs of residents of this city district. Complex contains two buildings (building S01 and S02). Inside you can find large and small multipurpose hall, two music classrooms and 3 normal classrooms. Building S01 has four floors and has two separate operating units - large multipurpose hall and leisure center (class rooms). Building S02 is single-storey and contains small multipurpose hall. The street facade has white plaster that contrasts with the black aluminum construction. This element reflects with the park on Mojmírovo náměstí, but also aims to draw attention to the building and its content. On the roof is a terrace with shelter structure that allows climbing plants to grow up. This will create a small "oasis" on the roof in the middle of the city. In the courtyard is designed space with a fountain, which is located on the axis of a large window in multipurpose hall. An access pavement connecting this yard with Košinova Street on the northeast side of the plot is also designed for the axis.

Růžičková, Tereza ; Cahel, Tomáš (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor) ; Daněk, Lukáš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis was prepared on the basic of an earlier study in the subject AG32. This bachelor’s thesis develops study further into the level Building permit documentation and Documentation for execution of the project. The main theme of this work is the Kindergarten in Brno. The proposed kindergarten is located in the city centre of Brno, on Údolní Street. The land is bordered by a frequented road from the north side and the park Obilní trh, on the south side of the land the relief gradually rises to Špilberk Castle. The main idea was to create a kindergarten object and an ideal space for children’s upbringing and movement. The shape of the building reacts to the surrounding area. On the north side is only the entrance to the building and the school’s operational base. The main room of the school (the games room and the dining room) opens to the south side into the garden which goes further into the slope. The west wing of the building is extended to the slope and the construction continues to the original terrain and it’s possible to cross to the slope of the roof of the building. Roof is designed as a vegetation roof. The overall appearance of the building is of a natural character. It’s made of a wooden facade vertical tile. Only at the entrance to the building and on the other side of the building near garden are designed colour rotating lamellas. Children can rotate with them and change the appearance of the building.
Multifunctional building Jezuitska
Králik, Michal ; Elešová, Klára (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor) ; Šuhajda, Karel (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis is based on my earlier study developed in format AG34, which was further elaborated to a documentation of building permit and execution of the construction. The theme was to propose a polyfunctional house in the center gap of Brno by the Jeziutska street. The gap is situated on a very cut and deep plot where was important to ensure illumination in the central disposition and combine object operations. Since the parcel is in the city memorial reservation of Brno the endurance was put on suitable solution due to the historical stop. The functional content of the building is accommodation and public amenities in the field of culture. The main idea of the proposal was to build a building which will meet all the requirements of the given operation, function and will be a value and an appropriate part of the historic city stop. There was an attempt for a simple and functional form and a minimalist concept of the whole object. This polyfunctional house consists of two functions, public which serves as a gallery and living. The whole object is divided by these functions along the horizontal plane between third and fourth floor. Volume of the construction is based on paddle footprint and the Jezuitska street is adjacent to the sixth floor and the seven-storied. In the central part is atrium along three floors with the lightening and another six floors are following up in the rear part.
