Reaction time diagnostics of muay thai atletes

Tittle: Diagnosis of reaction level of fighters in Thai boxing Objectives: The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to diagnose the level of reaction ability of fighters in Thai boxing, who have been engaged in this combat sport for several years on a professional level. Partial aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out the connection of the diagnosed reaction time with the success of the fighters in the last three years. Methods: In the quantitative research where the Vienna test system- determination test (short form with adaptive input of stimuli) was used for obtaining results. In our case, we investigate selective reaction ability. We compare results of reaction ability with fighting success. The correlation between the reaction time and the success factor is calculated using the correlation coefficient. Results: Based on measurements, made by using the Vienna test system, we found out, that professional Thai boxing fighters, were diagnosed as having a response rate in the main variable as a better average compared to the standard area average of the standard scale. Comparison of reaction rate in children diagnosed with ADHD and common population of the same age

Title: Differences in reaction rate in children with ADHD and the general population of the same age. Problem definition: ADHD is a neuropsychological disorder occurring in part of the pediatric population (5-8%). The scientific public mentions the existence of the so-called hyperfocus, ie the ability to significantly concentrate in children diagnosed with ADHD, especially in the case of these children being interested in the task. Methodologically correctly compiled and performed testing of the reaction rate of these children could confirm or refute this assumption. Aims: The aim of the work is to find out whether and possibly what effect the diagnosis of ADHD in children has on the reaction rate. Hypotheses: H1: The reaction rate in individuals with ADHD will be on average the same or higher than in individuals of the same age of the healthy population. H2: The difference between the individual experiments will be greater in children with ADHD than in individuals of the same age of the healthy population. H3: The individual with fastest reaction ability with ADHD will have the same or better result as the individual with the fastest reaction of the same aged healthy population. Analysis of driver reaction to sudden stimulus

The diploma thesis deal with what ways drivers react to an unexpected stimulus. In the theoretical part, the analysis of the current state, reaction time, methods of reaction of the driver, stimuli from the environment and finally is being analyzed, the vehicle and its assistance systems. The analytical part of the diploma thesis was performed by driving tests, where it was found that the way the driver reacts from the distance to which they are obstructed and the speed of the vehicle. For that reason, a TTC dependency analysis was performed. It was found that drivers at low TTC values chose an obstacle in which they brake the need to move their foot from the accelerator pedal to the brake pedal and they have to brake sharply. At medium TTC values, drivers brake most often. In the case of a combination of conductors, they chose braking with avoiding at lower TTC values and avoiding with braking at medium TTC values. There was also a dependence of the method of reaction on driving experience. Inexperienced drivers rather choose braking, experienced drivers use combinations.
Analysis of driver’s conduct during solving of situations associated with pedestrians crossing the road

The doctoral thesis analyses driver’s conduct while solving situations associated with crossing of pedestrians across the road in cases of various design of pedestrian crossings and at different conditions. The thesis deepens the knowledge of the human factor impact on the occurrence of a traffic accident involved vehicle and pedestrian and thesis also complements knowledge for the needs of the analysis of traffic accidents, especially in solving the pre collision phase and at assessment of possibilities for collision prevention by involved participants. The thesis deals with driver’s conduct, various models of the conduct as well as the thesis focuses on the visual perception, the process of information processing, the driver’s conduct and the reaction time. In terms of the solution suitable types of experiments were designed and implemented. Based on performed measurements a method of processing and evaluating data on drivers’ conduct was found as well as more significant data set was obtained for a detailed analysis of drivers' conduct in different driving situations. The assessed quantities of drivers' conduct were analysed with respect to the dangerousness of driving situations. For these purposes, the categories of the dangerousness of driving situations were defined (situations completely safe, with increased danger, dangerous and critical), into which the analysed driving situations were subsequently included. To enable the quantification of this classification of situations into the categories of the dangerousness, the coefficient of the dangerousness (so called K) was defined. From the detailed analysis of the obtained data, the limit values of this coefficient were determined, and these were subsequently verified using data from the solution of real traffic accidents. Concurrently the analysis verified the suitability of using this hazard coefficient in the analysis of traffic accidents, especially for a detailed assessment of the possibilities of collision prevention.
Remanent magnetism of electromagnets of DC contactors

The master thesis is focused on a remanent magnetism of electromagnets of DC contactors. In the first part of the thesis deals with the formation of a magnetic field in different kinds of materials, description of their magnetization and sorting. The next part is focused on the principle and history of an electromagnet. Negative effects and remanent induction of the contactor are described in the end of the theoretical part. The second part is a practical part. First, the reaction times were measured on a pair of DC contactors. Using the obtained data, an electronic circuit was designed to minimize the difference in switching times of the given DC contactors.
Determination of duration that driver needs to assess the situation behind the vehicle in course of turning or overtaking manoeuvres.

The dissertation thesis deals mainly with determining of the duration that driver needs to assess the situation behind his vehicle at manoeuvers of turning and overtaking, based on the measurements made in real road traffic. These are common and frequent driving manoeuvers, which the driver performs while driving the vehicle in regular road traffic. For their safe execution the driver needs to have sufficient amount of information about the situation around the vehicle and especially behind the vehicle. This information can driver usually gain from devices for indirect vision, most often rear view mirrors. The time thus defined, suitable e.g for the needs of forensic engineering applications for the analysis of road accidents, has not been studied in detail yet. For the purpose of its determination, therefore, an extensive analysis of the current state of problematics related to the indirect vision from the vehicle was carried out. There were formulated influences on the time duration and with this related characteristics of humans as a part of the driver-vehicle-environment system in the thesis. The characteristics of human perception were investigated and the problematics of reaction time was discussed. Existing research focused on the duration of rear view mirrors glances was analyzed and possible methods of its measurement in detail were presented by author. Based on this, an experiment was designed and realized, the time necessary for rear view mirror glances was defined by the author. The results enable to quantify the time that the driver needs for assessing the situation behind the vehicle in connection of turning, overtaking and other driving manoeuvers when the driver needs to change the driving direction. The conclusions showed that the time needed to evaluate the situation behind the vehicle by means of the rear-view mirrors does not normally exceed duration 1 second.
Reaction time analysis on the basis of measurements in regular road traffic

This diploma thesis deals with driver’s reaction time in regular road traffic. The theoretical part of this work focuses on reaction time, such as various definitions, structuring of reaction time, methods of measuring or publications made by other authors. The practical part of this diploma thesis includes proposal and realization of experiment, based on analysis of the current state by the author of this diploma thesis, which focuses on driver’s reaction time in regular road traffic (various traffic situations). At the end, the practical part presents the results evaluation based on various traffic situations or headway.
Therapeutic game for reaction time measurement using the BITalino platform

This master’s thesis focuses on real-time detection of activity in electromyographic signal for reaction time measurement. For patients motivation there was designed and implemented therapeutic car game controlled throught the muscle activity. In this thesis were used three different algorithms for muscles activity detection in EMG signal. The best accuracy of this three methods has designed artificial network with U-Net hierarchy, which is used to segment samples into two categories - samples of signal with activity and samples representing calm. Accuracy of this method is 97 %. Later there were examined differences between groups of probands, different stimulus and the changes of reaction time over time.
Effect of alkaline water consumption on sports performance

Title: Effect of Alkaline Water Consumption on Sports Performance Objectives: The aim of the work was to find out the differences in performance after three days of intake of alkaline water in comparison with intake of water with normal pH. Methods: The thesis is conceived as an experimental study. A total of 12 participants aged 19-28 participated in the study. Volunteers were students of the UK FTVS military field. The testing included repeated crate outputs (Step-test), reaction rate tests on visual and auditory stimuli. Before and after exercise, blood lactate value, specific urine weight, and body diagnostics were recorded using a bio-impedance device. The study lasted a total of 3 weeks. Testing was performed with weekly spacing in controlled drinking regime of common or alkaline drinking water, always 2 days before testing. The obtained data were then analyzed and processed. Results: The average power of the Step-test participants in the first part of the measurement for both tests after the use of plain water is 718,8 W, compared to the average power of the participants after the use of alkaline water, which is higher and reaches 848,8 W. Choice reaction time comparision of Muay Thai athletes

Titel: Choice reaction time comparision of Muay Thai athletes Goals: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out whether oral tobacco has an influence on the reaction ability of a thaiboxing athlete (fighter) who uses it regularly and for a long time. Research compares selective responses to acoustic and visual stimuli among individuals who take oral tobacco while they are taking it and when they are without nicotine. Method: Its method of quantity reseach, where to get the results, we used method of testing by Vienna test, in which we have choosen determination test. The non- parametric paired Wilcoxon's rank test was used for data processing. Results: Based on the Vienna test system and further processed results by statistical method we have found out, that the results of thaiboxing athletes are not statistically significant and therefore we cannot say whether oral tobacco acts as a sedative or stimulant on thaiboxing athlete (fighter).
