Nanotechnology utilization in nuclear industry and research
Skalička, Jiří ; Štefánik, Milan (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
This thesis introduces reader to current knowledge of nanomaterials and their usage. It summarises production methods and usage of different materials in nuclear power plants, nuclear research and nuclear medicine. Theoretical part of this thesis is dedicated to possible usage of carbon nanotubes for neutron beam collimation and guides. In experimental part different materials were tested in measuring box connected to horizontal radial channel of VR-1 nuclear reactor and their influence on neutron flux was measured. Tested samples were non-oriented carbon nanotubes, carbon nanofibers, alumina nanowires, oriented carbon nanotubes with several angles of rotation and these samples were compared with results of graphite.
Power-producing and Environmental Strategy of Czech Republic
Novozámský, Jakub ; Lisý, Martin (referee) ; Špiláček, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with environmental and energy strategy of the Czech Republic. It discusses the issues associated a long-term energy policy. The main section is focused on topic about ongoing tender for the Temelin nuclear power plant. It also focuses on the legislative framework and regulations relating of the energy sector.
Future energy sources
Hatiar, Peter ; Moskalík, Jiří (referee) ; Škvařil, Jan (advisor)
This work deals with the issue of energy resources. It deals with the energy challenges for the coming decade, it briefly describes the various energy resources and assesses their potential. Given the scale of that issue, the work is focused on the use of energy resources, especially for electricity production.
The activities of the Czech ecological organisations: Case study Temelin
Novotná, Marcela ; Vymětal, Petr (advisor) ; Lisa, Aleš (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with activities of the Czech ecological organisations which were active in case of nuclear power plant Temelin after its breaking-in. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first one focuses on the definition of the ecological organisation (movement). In the second chapter, the attention is paid to the history of foundation and functioning of the nuclear power plant Temelin. The third chapter is about advantages and disadvantages of the nuclear power. The last chapter focuses on the analysis of activities of the Czech ecological organisations which opposed or supported the nuclear power plant Temelin.
Energy policy of the EU aiming at nuclear power
Číhalová, Denisa ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Burket, Daneš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to compare energy policy of chosen countries in terms of their access to nuclear power. In my thesis I have analysed the attitude of the member states of the EU to nuclear power and criteria, which influence them by decision making. For comparison, I chose four European Union countries - the Czech Republic, Germany, France and Great Britain, which have completely different attitude.
Providing emergency supply of nuclear power plants
ROZMILER, Jiří
Work "Providing emergency power nuclear power plant" describes how solving their own consumption nuclear power plant, as emergency power supply is designed and how it should be a solution of known states of emergency, having an immediate impact on the power consumption of their own nuclear power plants. The aim of this thesis is to propose options to strengthen its own emergency power consumption of nuclear power plants, one might say-more resistant to harsh extremes, which could lead to loss of employment, reserve and emergency power, that is the condition called Station Black Out (SBO) - total loss of power. The work also includes calculations of short-circuit ratios emergency resources considered as strengthening, as well as the calculation of acceleration heaviest drive and a summary of the overall impacts of the proposed hardening.
The Position of the EU to Nuclear Energy after Fukushima: Reactions of Germany and the Czech Republic
NEUMANNOVÁ, Nicole
The paper deals with the approach of the European Union or the approach of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Czech Republic to the nuclear disaster in Fukushima. The main aim is to describe and compare the reactions of these two states to the situation with regard to the historical position towards nuclear energy before the accident, but especially the political and social impact after the accident. In the first, theoretical, part the author presents basic information about nuclear energy, its advantages and disadvantages. This section also introduces a system for evaluation of nuclear disasters, along with examples of the most important accidents in history. The text also presents institutions and authorities which deal with nuclear power throughout the EU and the key legal texts that determine its official position and policy on this topic. In the second, practical, part the German and Czech responses to the incident in Fukushima are deeply analyzed. The author follows the development of perception of nuclear power in both states and the consequent impact on the common relations between the two countries.
Chosen logistics processes in Škoda JS
Kindlová, Kateřina ; Mervart, Michal (advisor) ; Bek, Petr (referee)
This master thesis deals with the purchase and sale process in Škoda JS company. The aim of this work is to assess whether the setting of the purchase and sale process is met by the company also within a real business case, in compliance with set controls, and whether the degree of perfect delivery is sufficient. In the introduction, the author specifies the basic terms: logistics, logistic chain, customer benefits, information systems in logistics, buying and selling. The following chapter introduces Škoda JS company, including the sphere of its entrepreneurial activity. This chapter also deals with the nuclear power industry. In the crucial chapter, the author describes the process of purchase and sale in Škoda JS company and compares it with a real business case. In conclusion, the author evaluates discrepancies and suggests recommendations to avoid them.
Current issues of Germany's energy sector
Zatloukalová, Hana ; Jiránková, Martina (advisor) ; Zapletal, Petr (referee)
The Bachelor's thesis deals with the current situation of the German energy sector, especially after the events of spring 2011 in Japan. Germany has focused on the use of renewable energy and alternative energy sources represent a significant share in the energy mix. The aim is to assess the current energy situation in Germany when the country gradually abandons the use of energy from nuclear power plants. I focus on German energy policy objectives, the cause of diversion of nuclear energy and the possible economic and technical impact of this decision. A significant part tells about Germany's energy sources and resources, both conventional and alternative sources. The first part deals with the energy policy of Germany and the various sources of energy. The second chapter addresses in detail the cause of diversion of nuclear energy in Germany and possible technical and economic impacts of this decision. The third part is devoted to renewable energy sources that are already widely used in Germany. Last but not least I would like to outline the prospect of future development of energetics in Germany.
Power Engineering in the EU and Development Prospects
Kučerová, Monika ; Kašpar, Václav (advisor) ; Vošta, Milan (referee)
This thesis deals with power engineering in the EU and aims to analyze energy resources and their characteristics, assess the current situation in the energy sector in the EU as a whole and in selected member states and outline possible future developments. The thesis studies problems that the EU must face in the field of power engineering too. The aim is also to point out new possibilities in power engineering, which are possible thanks to the progress in science and research.
