The bachelor's thesis focuses on the death's concept in preschool children. We want to know the influence of family, culture, religion in making death concept. The survey in practical part confirms the importantance of the development of the educational methods, when children meet sensitive subjects. This thesis advises against death taboo among preschoolers.
Changes in conception of film fairy tales

The current generation of children consume more medial contents through television and movies than ever before. Many classical literature works are adapted in this way, although they have to correspond with preferences of audience and with socio-cultural values which shows the different view at the same topic subsequently mediated to the youngest audience. This thesis acquaints with history of fairy-tales genre and its various forms. In view of target audience of this production, thesis concentrates with the effect of content and media devices on children audience in theoretical part. Simultaneously the thesis efforts to popularity of cinematized fairy-tales in Czech environment. Practical part analyzes two film adaptations of the same fairy-tale's theme and efforts to point out to the differences in creative conception and values, which these movies represent. The goal of this thesis is to prove the changing views on the classical themes in the course of time the influence of the contemporary ideas and imaginations of the society on the adaptation for children.
Negative impacts of media fame

The main topic of the work is how Czech media inform about psychological problems of celebrities such as depression, manic depressive psychosis, addictive behavior, or suicide, and tries to answer the question of how much the media fame can affect these issues. The theoretical part summarizes concepts from media studies for better understanding media behaviors, for example media news selections process, concept of news values, the role of media in today's society and the difference between tabloid and serious media. From the psychological point of view, work summarizes the preconditions of psychological problems and their manifestations. It also provides brief pieces of information from official sources about lives and careers of selected celebrities. The second part of thesis is about analyzing the data, it means articles that informed about selected celebrities in connection with their psychological problems. The practical part is about finding there some common features and tendencies in media informing and also about showing differences between the ways of how tabloid and serious media present news. Primary school pupil and the world of fairy tales

This diploma thesis has been focused on the relationship of pupils in the 1. -3. grade of elementary school to the contemporary fairy tales. The theoretical part of my work is focused on the fairy tale as a genre (classic folk and modern fairy tale), on the media influence of the fairy tale, on its current status, development trends, the influence of recipient etc. My work has an investigative character too. It has been focused on the reading behavior of pupils, their behavior, the influence of family and school, on the development of reading, respectively focusing on this genre, on the influence of media etc. Based on questionnaires and interviews with pupils and their parents I will try to capture the current status. The research results are compared with the theoretical part and are supported with the attachment. The results are interpreted in the conclusion.

This master's thesis named The influence of communication channels on decision making of first-time voters shown on the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2017 focuses on the influence and use of the consumption of communication channels on the decision making of first-time voters. This thesis also portrays the phenomenon of contemporary opinion leaders, such as YouTubers, bloggers, and other Internet celebrities. The theoretical section of the thesis describes the organization of elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, defines the first-time voter in terms of psychological and sociological, discusses the impact of socialization within family, school, and media, presents the concept of political efficacy, and describes the electoral participation of adolescents. Media image of child sexual abuse in Czech TV news

The bachelor's thesis is focused on media image of child sexual abuse in Czech TV news. The thesis introduces the issues of this serious social problem, presents context of social sciences, rapist, victims and consequences of sexual abuse. The media chapter introduces possible influences of news about child sexual abuse on society. Quantitative content analysis was used for the research. Three of the most popular TV stations - ČT1, Nova, Prima − were included in the research. News transcription related to child sexual abuse was monitored from the beginning of 2010 until the end of 2015 with the aid of the Newton Media SEARCH database. The time period was chosen because of actuality and sufficient sample of news. Three large cases were chosen. Cases were connected with organizations (the Scout group, the BBC television, the Catholic church). These organizations should help and protect children. The affairs were presented, in detail, the data from the news were analyzed, then interpreted and compared. The aim of the analysis was to find if society is sufficiently informed about this problem, if news about child sexual abuse can transform the society's view and if the news had some taboo or stereotypes about this problem.
The social impact of the media coverage of world epidemics (exemplified on ebola and zika viruses)

This bachelor thesis focuses on the media influence on society during Ebola epidemic (in 2014-2016) and Zika epidemic (in 2016). The theoretical part describes the basic concepts and outlines the progress of both epidemics. Then presents a theoretical basis for the issue of the influence of media messages on the audience, society and the pharmaceutical industry. This part also briefly discusses the adaptation of reporting about diseases in the selected ethical codes (The Czech Television Code, BBC Editorial Guidelines and The Code of Association of Television Organizations CR). In the practical part, the findings from the theoretical part are applied in the case study, where the audio-visual news from The Czech television and Television Nova during Ebola and Zika epidemics are analysed. The thesis notices frequency of the news during these periods, the character of the news, language usage and the guests who appear in the broadcasting. The analysis is accompanied by a description of the editorial work in both televisions. Agenda Setting in the Issue of Refugeedom: Analysis of Connection Between Media Exposure and Perceived salience of the Issue

The diploma thesis concerns itself with the analysis of connection between the media exposure to refugeedom topics and the perceived salience of the issue. Combined qualitative and quantitative research designs ruled by QUAN → qual scheme are used in the thesis. In the quantitative part the effect of exposure to refugeedom-related news on the perceived salience of the subject is constructed using TV and newspaper viewing figures while controlling socio- demographic characteristics of respondents. Binary logistic regression was used to find the influence. The analysis shows that the exposure to content concerning immigration and refugees has influenced the rated importance of the issue. However, there are other variables not included in the model which are affecting the salience. The qualitative approach offers insights into the relationship discovered with quantitative methods. In-depth interviews showed people are aware of the media influence mainly regarding topics they are thinking about and discussing with their social surroundings. This thesis concerns itself with the effects of media on socio-cultural regulatives. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The first one describes the theoretical foundations related to mass media - their importance and power, their potential effects and how they can be analyzed. The work also deals specifically with printed media. The practical part is focused on the research. Two lifestyle magazines were selected, both of which are presenting values of the two main segments of the population (Elle for women and Maxim for men). The empirical part of the thesis thoroughly scrutinizes these two periodicals in terms of their content. This analysis led to the formation of hypotheses pertaining to customer behaviour and value orientation, most of which were verified thanks to the in-depth interviews that were conducted.
