Format of news programme Horizont ČT24 and its transformation

The object of this work is to analyze the international agenda Horizont CT24, particularly its new form, in which the program is broadcasted from autumn 2013. In its theoretical part, the text will define the foreign news in the relation with the audiovisual media. The theoretical segment will also include a basic specifics of audiovisual work, which will be also applied in the practical part of this thesis. This bachelors thesis will also implant the foreign news into the context of television broadcasting, it will briefly describe its meaning, origin, and the specifics of its evolution in the broadcasting scheme of the Czech television. The core of this thesis is to analyze the program - the author will focus on how it was created, which technologies were applied, the reporting methods, genres and the content and form. The author will also examine sources of the reports, namely the ones from foreign correspondents from the Czech television and the reporters placed in headquarters in Prague, who use the available foreign news agencies. The aim of this thesis will be, apart from analyzing the agenda, to describe the most important changes which the format has passed in the last year and a half of broadcasting. Comparison of late night talk show in Russia and the USA

The subject of this thesis is comparison of late night talk shows on major TV networks in the United States of America and Russian Federation. The focus of the research is in the extent hosts are willing to discuss political topics and joke about politics and how that correlates to political regimes in their respective countries, authoritarian (Russia) and democratic (United States). The first part of the thesis defines the necessary terminology pertaining to TV format and genre in the context of late night TV. One of the chapters covers forms and objects of political communication, analysis of the way messages are delivered, their content and influence on the recipient. Attention is paid to specific characteristics of political communication and the way they are realized in late night talk shows. Given the propensity of late night talk shows to discuss political issues in a light-hearted way, the thesis researches "entertainization" of political communications. The second part of the thesis provides qualitative and quantitative content analysis of the TV programs chosen as a subject of the research.. Last chapter contains results of that content analysis pertaining to primary characteristics of these programs.
The Role of The TV News Anchorman/woman. The Comparative Analysis Between Public and Commercial Television

The diploma thesis deals with the role of a television news anchorman/woman. It focuses on the origin of the anchorman, the main and characteristic professional prerequisites, and the differences between the anchormen of public and commercial television. The primary role of the moderator is to inform about current events. But in the same time be objective, neutral, and trustworthy, and leave a way expressing one's own emotions. However, these values may differ as to the television broadcasting system. As part of his role in television, they can be a suitable element in media self-presentation. The thesis focuses on work with commercial and public television, analyses the emotional and professional aspects of his work and his contribution to the creation of news programs. The research is also carried out among the public, which enables the main characteristics and functions of moderators.
Typology of series and programming structure of continuous broadcasting CT24

Typologie pořadu a programová struktura kontinuálního vysílání ČT24 Sára Klepáčová Annotation The aim of this thesis is to define and analyze one of the TV shows of the ČT24 news station - Studio ČT24. It is a specific type of continuous broadcast delivered by ČT24 to the viewers, as the only one in Czech republic, every day - seven days a week. In its way it is also unique among the TV shows of european public service media. Theoretical part deals with standart procedures in news broadcasting, starting with acquiring the information and its incorporation into the broadcasting script. This part contains factual notes provided by the ČT 24 news broadcast deputy editor-in-chief František Lutonský. Research aims on the structure of the show itself, particularly on the content, by means of the quantitative content analysis. It demonstrates the structure and composition of the continuous broadcast of the ČT24 news station on the sample of four whole weeks choosed from four programme periods. It also aims on the changes of broadcast composition in case of extraordinary event. in context of the viewership.
Subtitling and Dubbing on the Czech Television Screen

The present master's thesis named Subtitling and Dubbing on the Czech Television Screen deals with the attitudes and preferences of the Czech television audience from the point of view of audiovisual translation (dubbing and subtitling) and aims to identify the reasons for these preferences. The thesis also focuses on the impact of sociodemographic features (age, level of education, foreign language skills) on these preferences. The objective is to cover relevant matters of both audiovisual translation theory as well as practice abroad and in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part provides a systematic summary of studies and other relevant literature in the field of audiovisual translation. Firstly, the two main methods of audiovisual translation are introduced, including a comparison of their advantages and disadvantages for the viewer. This is followed by a description of the historical development of audiovisual translation in a global context and the current changes in the given field. Also other relevant audience studies are presented. The next part of the thesis discusses the specific context of the Czech Republic as a "dubbing" country not only from the historical point of view, but also from the present perspective. Twitter Connection with a TV Broadcast

This master thesis focuses on the possible connection between the digital television broadcasting DVB and the Twitter social network. The target platform is the Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV platform, which combines television broadcasting with a data received from broadband. The created system is composed of a HbbTV application and a server, that connects the application with the Twitter and searchs for additional data about the current video content. Usage of the resulting solution in real television broadcasting could potentially increase the amound of tweets related to the television broadcasting, increase the knowledge about HbbTV technology and attrack young generation of viewers. All that can result into slight increased number of viewers.
The development of the form of sport news from the start of broadcasting Czechslovak television to the present

The author of diploma theses The development of the form of sports news from the beginning of the broadcasting of Czechoslovak Television to the present describes changes in sports news in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic from 1953 to 2016 focusing on its form. The aim of this work is to write down how the form of popular news which has a longer history than common news has developed based on archive shots of Czechoslovak and Czech Television. The thesis deals with sports news in Czech countries since its inception. Then, it explains the creation of the sports department in Czechoslovak television and describes changes that have taken place during its whole life, especially changes associated with the emergence of the independent Czech Republic and creation of the sports channel ČT Sport. Separately, the author also focuses on the main sports session Branky, body, vteřiny. In the second half of the thesis, the author defines several categories that cover sports news from different points of views. These categories are divided according to the historical milestones which are important for particular category. TV Audience Measurement

Marketing research, as far as it exists, is definitely an essential part of every company that provides products or services to customers. Marketing surveys show exact data and give their submitters important information and feedback. However, the process of creating marketing research of media also brings certain difficulties and specialties, with which the media market deals these days. This diploma thesis focuses especially on the process of creating surveys concerning television broadcast audience. The diploma thesis deals with the matters of measuring TV ratings. The first part of the work focuses on historical progress in this field since the introduction of TV broadcasting, the earliest measurements of TV audience, up to its current electronic form ? all concerning the Czech Republic and other foreign countries. The contemporary, electronic form, is thoroughly described in the thesis. An essential aspect of the work is information about the usage of the collected data by TV and the advertising market. Another part of the work concerns international comparison of similar projects focusing on audience measurement in selected countries. The last part of the thesis focuses on possible future of the measuring of audiovisual content ? touching upon consumer behavior. The research is mainly based on controlled interviews with TV or research field workers and on an analysis of available documents concerning this topic.
