Legal aspects of gender reassignment
Dočekalová, Hana ; Frinta, Ondřej (referee)
Legal aspects of gender reassignment Abstract Thesis deals with legal aspects of gender reassignment, especially with legal conditions of gender reassignment witch are required by the Czech law. Furthermore, the thesis provides a general introduction to the issue of transsexuality, deals with the etiology of transsexuality, and defines its two fundamental types, namely the MtF and the FtM transsexuality. This thesis also recalls the position of transgender people in society, as transgender people continuously face various forms of discrimination. In particular, the text of the thesis is focused on the legal analysis of the issue of gender reassignment. The thesis deals with all legal regulations that contain provisions concerning gender reassignment. In this manner, it deals with all relevant legal provisions included in the Czech Civil Code, in the Act on Specific Health Services, and in the Registry Act. The thesis also deals with the possible future legal regulation of gender reassignment using the de lege ferenda considerations. This bill could adapt the Czech legal regulation of gender reassignment to the case-law of The European Court of Human Rights as well as the legal standarts in other european countries. In the thesis, there is also the whole process of gender reassignment including both the...

The Nazi ideology in relation to persons with mental disabilities
Kučerová, Zuzana ; Marková, Alena (advisor) ; Vávra, Martin (referee)
Diploma thesis "Nazi ideology in relation to mentally ill people" focuses on starting points and ideas of this ideology, which in its consequences led to social exclusion and subsequent systematic extermination of people with a certain handicap. Although the thesis is limited in time from 1933 - 1945, it also follows development line of selected scientific disciplines, which were significantly reflected in the Nazi ideology. Primarily it concerns historical science, medical disciplines, genetics, racial hygiene, eugenic origins and other related disciplines. The thesis also takes into account the economic situation of that time with its many social problems which arose as a result of the new geopolitical arrangement after the World War I and the changes in the social world of that period and it also captures the process of changes in the social status of mentally ill people in the course of history. Last but not least, it describes the practical consequences of these changes, which were "forced sterilization" and "euthanasia" of both children and adults. The Nazi ideology is viewed in this regard from three perspectives: legal, theoretical with a broader historical context and on the practical level in the form of the consequences of the two previous perspectives. Key words: nazi ideology, mental...
Study of chemical processes initiated by electrical discharge in liquids
Možíšová, Aneta ; Zlámalová Gargošová, Helena (referee) ; Kozáková, Zdenka (advisor)
This Bachelor´s thesis in the first part describes the process of ignition of the plasma discharge in water solutions, the generation of the particles that are generated during the discharge and their subsequent analysis by appropriate analytical methods. The second part focuses on specific cases of the use of the plasma discharge in the environment of selected electrolyte, phosphates were selected for individual experiments and for the comparison of sodium chloride. Phosphates were chosen mainly because of their stable pH as a possible benefit in discharge. The aim is to obtain the most ideal environment for the ignition of the plasma discharge and to optimize the method, which could subsequently be used for medical purposes, especially when sterilizing tools
Legal aspects of abortion, sterilization and assisted reproduction
Melčová, Barbora ; Šustek, Petr (advisor) ; Salač, Josef (referee)
Název diplomové práce v anglickém jazyce: Legal aspects of abortion, sterilization and assisted reproduction Summary: The thesis deals with the three topics from the field of medical law, particularly abortion, sterilization and assisted reproduction. The issue of giving birth is the key here. The new Special Medical Services Act regulating, inter alia, some aspects of sterilization and assisted reproduction came into effect in April 2012. The previous regulation of these matters was outdated and some legal issues were not tackled at all. The first part of the thesis focuses on legal regulation of abortion, which is contained in the act from 1986 and in the implementing legislation. Especially the conditions of intervention itself, payments and intervention on juveniles (under 18) and foreigners in the Czech Republic are tackled. The regulation of other countries is mentioned and compared as well. The second part of the thesis deals with the legal regulation of sterilization, conditions of sterilization and contraindication as well. The specific problem of illegal sterilizations of gypsy women in the second half of the twentieth century is pointed out. These disputes were present even before the European Court for Human Rights in Strasbourg. The methods of assisted reproduction, as a modern way of resolving...
The History of Documentation and Control of Sterilization Processes in Health Care
Sedlářová, Martina ; Eislerová, Iva (advisor) ; Hocková, Jana (referee)
The theoretical part reports on development of the first sterilization device and on intro- duction of the sterilization technology on the market in the Czech Republic. The complete sterilization process and its checking mechanisms are described as well as the sterilization process documentation and the options how to perform it. The results aimed to the theoretical knowledge of the Central sterilization department staff are presented in the empiric part. The sterilization technology, the documentation form that is used and the education and experience of the nurses working at the Central sterilization department are shown further in this part. Comparing the results is clear that the electronic documentation system has been used by three out of five hospitals. There was find out that the most commonly used sterilization technology was the steam sterilization. Concerning the theoretical knowledge of the respondents, we find out that this is at a high level. A few respondents are engaged in the lifelong education at the Central sterilization department, hence, there should be more attention turned to this education of the staff.
Utilization of genome editing technology to knock out \kur{dnd1} gene in sturgeons
VU THI, Trang
In this study, for the first time we used CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology in sturgeons i.e., sterlets (Acipenser ruthenus). The sequences of sgRNA and primers were designed based on published dnd1 sterlet sequence. Each pair of sgRNA oligos after ligation ready duplex DNA fragment was cloned into vector pX330-U6-Chimeric_BB-CBh-hSpCas9 backbone and thereafter the transformation to competent cells Escherichia coli DH5 was done. The plasmid carried sgRNA was extracted for downstream applications. We diluted extracted plasmid with 10% of 2 M KCl and injection into animal pole of fertilized eggs of sterlets at one to four-cell-stage, 4 hours post fertilization (hpf). At the same time, second microinjection with 2.5% FITC-biotin-dextrans was injected into vegetal pole for labelling PGCs. In the control groups, the eggs were only injected by 2.5% FITC into vegetal pole. PGCs of sterlet were visualized and photographed using a uorescent stereo microscope Leica M165 FC. To confirm the presence or deletion/insertion occurring in the target gene, we used MCE-202 MultiNA microchip electrophoresis system for DNA analysis, in which the targeted gene after amplifying by PCR was analyzed. Mutations in both treated and control embryos of sterlet were further assessed by Sanger sequencing of the PCR product. In present study, we successfully established basic protocols such as preparation of competent cells, construction of vector carrying sgRNA and its transformation into competent cells to carry out the CRISPR/Cas9 technology in sturgeons. Less number of PGCs was observed in embryos that were treated with CRISPR/Cas9; however, sequencing did not provide us a reliable evidence for mutation of the targeted gene probably due to an unspecific PCR. Therefore, more authentication of dnd1 knockout should be done in future by more specific PCR and repeated sequencing.
Optimization of air flow in hot-air sterilizer
Šťastná, Veronika ; Sekora, Jiří (referee) ; Provazník, Ivo (advisor)
The content of this work deals with the distribution of temperature, air flow and optimized airflow for medical and laboratory equipment. Especially in terms of using hot-air sterilizer chambers. The purpose of my bachelors thesis is the identification of the issues from the best theoretical description and explanation and my bachelors thesis includes picture with existing problematic . For this purpose I have dealt with the right choice literature and personally, I attended a business that is engaged in manufacturing various types of sterilizers.
