NÁVRATOVÁ, Jana
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of examples of the process of coping the family with the birth and subsequent care for a child with severe disability. The theoretical part of the thesis analyzes four types of disorders: Down syndrome, microcephaly, vigile comatose and Rett syndrome. First, these disorders are characterized and subsequently their causes, diagnosis, treatment, etc. are listed. The practical part informs about the results of the research using case studies. The strategy of qualitative research was determined, the method used is questioning and the technique of semi-structured interview. The discussion points to the appropriate practice of doctors in communicating a serious diagnosis to parents. The process of coping with a child's disability makes it difficult for parents, has a major impact on the family's lifestyle and educates them to verify the quality of the marital relationship. The involvement of his siblings, the wider family and the contacts with the surrounding society and its help play a significant role in the care of a child with disabilities.
A sibling' s life with a child who has one of a type of an autismus
MICHALCOVÁ, Šárka
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyse and describe the social aspects of the sibling of a child with an autism spectrum disorder (further referred as ASD). It describes how the implementation of care for a child with ASD through social services acts on a healthy sibling or whether he/she is involved in care in some way. Furthermore, this thesis deals with the financial side of the family. To what extent does a child with a disability, specifically a child with an ASD, influence a healthy sibling within the redistribution of funds. The qualitative research used techniques - semi-structured interview and focus group. The semi-structured interview is carried out with healthy siblings of children with ASD and their mothers took part in the focus group. Thanks to these techniques it was possible to conclude that a healthy sibling is not only neglected by society but also by parents. They unconsciously put pressure on their healthy children about the autonomy and future care of their sibling with ASD. The practical part presents the results in the form of open coding and categorization. The results show that siblings of children with ASD are heavily influenced and restricted. Parents put great emphasis on making everything fit for their children with disabilities and making their healthy children as independent as possible. From the results of interviews with healthy siblings, they feel like their "half parents" towards their siblings with ASD and they are aware of their concession in all respects.

The aim of this work is to map the possibilities and limits of dog-assisted activities and therapies in educational facilities from the point of view of special pedagogues. Through the research questions it was discovered how dog-assisted activities and therapies in educational facilities took place from the point of view of special pedagogues and what their experience with these activities and therapies were. The thesis is divided into two parts theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, readers are informed about the present state in this field. It consists of three sections. In the first section, fundamental terms of canistherapy are defined. It deals with its historical development, its methods and forms, and with the specification of a canistherapeutic team. The second section is focused on special pedagogy, its division and types of facilities. The third section connects canistherapy with special pedagogy. It focuses on disabled children as on canistherapy clients. The practical part is formed by the research. The qualitative research method the interviewing method was used in the research. The research group was composed of special pedagogues or educators from special schools or educational facilities in South Bohemia. The respondents were interviewed in a semi-structured interview. It was structured on the basis of the research questions of the bachelor thesis and targets set in advance. The research shows that canistherapeutic methods AAA and AAT are used in special schools and educational facilities, usually in a visiting form, both group and individual. The canistherapeutic experience of special pedagogues and educators is positive. The benefits of canistherapy are diversification of education, children stimulation, relaxation, improved motor activity and communication skills, and improved self-confidence. The disadvantage of canistherapy is a small number of canistherapeutic teams.
Specific features of communication of the social and health care worker with a disabled child's family.
PALASOVÁ, Andrea
The topic of my thesis is the Specific features of communication of the social and health care worker with a disabled child's family. The content of the theoretical part is the introduction of attitudes that make the family and the child with disabilities a close surrounding and a wider society. In this section we also find the phases that parents are going through when diagnosing their child. An important topic in this work has also been the way in which information on the diagnosis or health status of the child is communicated to its family members. In the theoretical part, I also dealt with the possibilities and types of communication both general and specific in helping professions. I mainly focused on communication in health care and social work. In the methodological part, I used qualitative research. In particular, I applied the technique of a semi-structured interview when I interviewed family members of children with disabilities and a structured interview with open questions led by doctors and social workers. The aim of the thesis is to identify which ethical aspects can influence the effectiveness of mutual communication in connection with the specific family environment of a disabled child. The work highlights mistakes in communication in specific situations and seeks the principles for the most appropriate communication with family members of children with disabilities. The result of the work is to find out what are the most common errors in communicating with the family of disabled children in the work of social and healthcare workers and what their ethical aspects are affecting them.

There were used these methods: interview, narrative inspired by life-story, questionnaire PTGI-CZ and PCI questionnaire. The data were elaborated by means of qualitative and quantitative methods. The aim of the thesis was to identify the coping strategies used by siblings and identify potential posttraumatic growth. The most considerable development was reflected in the areas of "appreciation of life" and "personal growth". The most helpful coping strategies were considered to be positive thinking and positive reappraisal of a situation. We believe that these research findings might be helpful in counselling for siblings or in the area of psychotherapy.
