Title: Use of dynamic splints for tendon injuries of the hand. Problem: There is a lack of complex information on methods and procedures of dynamic splint production in the Czech Republic . Aim: This thesis provides a complex overview of current possibilites in the area of tendon injury treatment. It also explores various procedures of production and application of dynamic splints. Methodology: The thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part contains a research. The practical one consists of a appropriate dynamic and night splint designs and production procedures. Methods of qualitative research in terms of collection, and secondary data analysis of scientific articles are used. The aim of the thesis is to create an occupational therapy program for a client with cerebral palsy, to achieve certain development of fine and gross motor skills of his hands during the performance of the occupational therapy activities and to provide the client with a sense of success, meaningfulness and usefulness of the accomplishment. In the theoretical part of the thesis basic concepts related to the definition of the cerebral palsy, educational opportunities of students with cerebral palsy, individual education plan, the role of assistant teacher, the definition of occupational therapy, objectives and components of occupational therapy will be presented. The practical part is dedicated to the use of occupational therapy for work with a client with cerebral palsyIn the thesis the following methods are used - analysis of expert sources, observation and direct work with a client.
The intervention in Occupational Therapy for children with perception disorder of body schema

This thesis deals with process of body scheme, its disorders in childhood and the possibility of influencing, mainly due to the sensory integration. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a synoptic manual on processing of body scheme from the perinatal period when the creating of body scheme is an indispensable component, to neonatal, infant and toddler age, when the possibilities of influencing the disorders are the most effective and provide good results. The thesis is divided into two parts; one is theoretical and the other practical. The theoretical part describes the commonly used terms relating to the body and body perception, perception development, specific diagnoses, where the body image disorder is present, methods of evaluation and therapy. The practical part describes two case studies of preschool children diagnosed with dyspraxia, in which the body scheme disorder is analyzed. For practical knowledge there is an importance of proper physiological perception and negative impacts of disturbances on motor skills in all areas. Occupational therapy application in addiction treatment

The Bachelor thesis: "Occupational therapy application in addition treatment" deals with medium-therm institucional treatment of dependants. The work contains justification of occupational therapy application in addition treatment. The theoretical part is devided to the two points. The part which deals with the addiction defines the main attributes of addiction, cause of addiction and addiction kinds. It defines in the organization of care for persons with addiction the treatment program for this target group with an emphasis on medium-term inpatient treatment, mentions phase of this treatment, concepts such as detoxification, dual diagnosis and combined therapy. It sets occupational therapy as part of treatment for people with addiction. The theoretical part is defined occupational therapy, defined its objectives, target groups, forms, techniques and describes the formation of the occupational therapy programme. Basal Stimulation in Occupation Therapy

Name of thesis: Basal stimulation in occupational therapy Aim: The aim of my thesis is to study the existing literature and find out, if there is any evidence, which can prove the effectivity of basal stimulation. Method: In theoretical part I focus on resources, which evaluate effectivity of basal stimulation. In the practical part I work with two patients. I have obtained the detailed information about patients by observation, consulting the documentation and interviewing with the patients' families. At the Clinic of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine I have worked on the casuistries under the leadership of the therapist Ms. Dvořáková. Result: Based on studying of the literature, I have found that the result of the research is especially the positive attitude of patients, but there is no proof that would confirm the effectivity of basal stimulation. The use of HandTutor in occupational therapy with people after brain damage

This bachelor's thesis deals with the use of HandTutor technology in occupational therapy with people after brain damage. The theoretical part describes HandTutor technology, brain damage and subsequent occupational therapy intervention. HandTutor technology is presented as an active rehabilitating system of upper limb including diagnostic and therapeutic part. The practical part contains the aim of the thesis, research questions and the methodology of the research. In my research, the progress of therapies with HandTutor technology is presented by two case reports of people after brain damage. The result of the research is the record of the changes in the parameters measured by HandTutor technology. The changes are reflected in the charts and visual supplements. The conclusion summarises the responses of research questions describing also the problems which can occur while using this technology. This thesis serves as an introduction HandTutor technology, specifies its use in occupational therapy with people after brain damage and recommends futher research of the diagnostic data analysis in an objective evaluation. Occupational therapy in pediatric rheumatology

The application of occupational therapy has been explored in pediatric rheumatology, with an emphasis to leisure activities and activities of daily living in junior school children with arthritis. The thesis consists of two parts - a theoretical and a practical section. The theoretical section offers a brief description of occupational therapy and juvenile idiopathic arthritis with a specific attention given to polyarthritis. In addition, this section describes occupational therapy for children with arthritis plus various examinations being used by occupational therapists in these children. (CHAQ (The Childhood Health Assessment Questionnaire), JAHODA (Juvenile Arthritis Multidimensional Assessment Report), grip ability examination and goniometry). The practical section includes six case reports of pediatric patients with arthritis, with a detailed description of leisure activities and activities of daily living. Examination outcomes of children with arthritis have been compared to a control population of five healthy children. The Quality in Occupational Therapy

The thesis described quality issues in occupational therapy. The theoretical part contained characteristic occupational therapy, quality and descriptions of stroke. The empirical part provides a qualitative research exploring the views, attitudes standard for occupational therapists in occupational therapy, based on which the pilot made standard in occupational therapy, a client with a stroke.
The Kawa model in occupational therapy

Name of thesis: The Kawa model in occupational therapy Aim: The aim of my thesis is to translate the basis of the Kawa model, to explore its application and evaluate the experience with this model and possibilities of its use in the Czech occupational therapy practice. Method: In the theoretical part of my thesis I deal with the issue of the role of culture in occupational therapy in the context of the cultural background of the Kawa model, circumstances and motives of its origin. Further on I particularly aim at the translation and interpretation of the basis of the model needed for its use in practice. In the practical part I present the case studies of four clients with acquired brain injury with whom I tried the method of guiding individual interviews on basis of the Kawa model. The conclusion of the practical part presents the evaluation of my experiance with the model maping the positives and negatives in the connection with the possibility of its use in the czech occupational therapy practice. Results: On the basis of my theoretical studies and using the model in practice I consider that the Kawa model is the method that can be used with Czech clients.
