Teaching as a second career

The thesis deals with the personality of a primary school teacher for which teaching is a second career. The theoretical part is focused on general demands placed on teacher's personality, defines the term 'second career teacher', describes professional development of a teacher, gives potential motivators influencing the choice to become a teacher and also briefly introduces the system of professional training of primary school teachers in Czech Republic and some other European countries. The aim of qualitative survey performed by deep semi- structured discussions with 5 teachers about their live stories was to answer the research question: "What is the second career teacher like?" By means of partial questions the survey has uncovered the reasons that brought those teachers to career change, which benefits and difficulties following their decision they perceived, which gains from previous profession they can use in their new teaching career. Finally, the thesis brings the point of view of the respondents on their studies at pedagogical faculty. The analysis of the data enabled to investigate the decision-making process about changing the career from non-teaching to teaching one and identify the key moments which can influence the decision. Teacher professions from the point of view of pupils, parents and of teacher selected primary school

This diploma thesis brings information about the perception of the teaching profession by secondary school students, their parents, and teachers of a selected primary school. The aim of the work is to find out with the help of questionnaires, how pupils and their parents subjectively see and perceive teachers and how the teachers who teach pupils themselves see their profession as a teacher. In the theoretical part, I deal with the historical development of education and the teaching profession in our territory. I also deal with the characteristics of the teaching profession by clarifying the very concept, personality traits, and typology of the teacher's personality. This section also includes chapters on the competence of the teacher, his authority and motivation to choose the teaching profession. In the last part, I deal with the current form of the teaching profession in primary school, the requirements for the profession, and including selected problems of our education. In the practical part, I used a questionnaire survey to evaluate the data obtained by individual respondents among students, parents, and teachers and then I analyzed the data of individual groups of respondents and drew a conclusion. Case study of small-class primary school

This diploma thesis deals with education at composite school and its problems. It is a case study at a particular primary school, which is not fully organized. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part contains three chapters. In the introductory chapter there is described the current conception of Czech education system. This system is related closely to curricular system of education in the Czech Republic. The first chapter is also focused on curricular documents - The Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education and National Programme for the Development of Education in the Czech Republic (White Paper). The second chapter deals with a teacher's personality. The aim is to describe the teacher's role in educational process at primary schools. Concerning teachers, there is also described their profession, characterization of their personality and definition of the teachers' role. The last chapter is concerned with education at composite primary schools and it is aimed especially at the characterization of specific attributes of composite schools education. The second part of the thesis is a practical part and it has qualitative character. The practical part is a detailed prezentation of the case study of a concrete composite school. This part describes pedagogical-educational influence of the school on its pupils. There are also described local teachers, pupils and their parents. There were used different methods for this research - observation, in-depth dialogue and qestionnaire.

Author's reading - study of personality aspects

This Diploma thesis dealing with the author's creation was written in relation to human personality. The goal of the thesis is to determine student's motivation to author's reading. Further goal is a description of student's needs and area of progress of their personality. The thesis is divided into two parts - a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part the author describes the author's reading, including self - reflection and psychosomatics condition. Further there is description of human personality generally and also description of teacher's personality with focus on teacher's motivation, personality trait and voluntary characteristics, self - regulation characteristics - self-awareness, self-knowledge, self-assessment, self-criticism, conscience, self-concept and self-concept. Last part of theoretical part is about dynamical characteristics, temperament, performance characteristics and special characteristics. The practical part is basically a qualitative study which is further divided into two parts. The first part is concerned with analysis of semistructured interviews, the second part with analysis of student's self-reflections. Summary and comparison of the research results and author's own case study are at the end of the thesis. Subject of discussion is comparison to results of Bachelor thesis (2015) and results currently research.

The ideal teacher through the eyes of children at first grade of primary school

This bachelor's thesis is focused on discovery of possible "perfect teacher for elementary school children" based on results from qualitative research. Theoretical part of thesis is focused on, among others, the teacher as a person, his appearance and demeanor, teaching as a profession and teacher's authority. It's also covering topics such as specific pedagogic methods and skills, relationship between teacher and pupils, their evaluation and inappropriate behavior of teachers towards them. In this thesis, I'm working with children from younger school age, definition and further characteristics of this term is also part of the thesis. As well as some teacher's typologies. Empirical part on the other hand provides analysis and comparison of results from group activities of elementary school students. Research was conducted on two different elementary schools in Prague, where pupils (divided into two groups) were tasked with paining their visualization of perfect and worst possible teacher. After the painting was done, further discussion regarding specific remarks and reasoning took a place. Motivation of primary school children to sports activities

This thesis focuses on the motivation of pupils attending primary school towards the sports activities. The work is divided into theoretical and research section. The theoretical part explains the concepts related to the thesis itself, especially the concepts of leisure activities, physical activities and the concept of sport. Furthermore, the theoretical part is focused on the developmental stages of personalities, the concepts of motivations, incentives, needs, rewards and motivational structure of sportsmen. The aim of the research part of this thesis was to determine the current state of motivation of the pupils attending primary school towards the sports activities. To accomplish this aim, a method of questionnaire survey was used. The research section also deals with the relationships among the monitored variables in the survey. The results of this work provide new information about motivation of children towards sports activities.

Emotional intelligence of teachers

This bachelor thesis deals with the emotional intelligence of teachers. The aim of this work is how teachers perceive their competencies in the field of emotional intelligence. The theoretical part consists of three chapters which are devoted to emotional intelligence, helping and teaching professions and teacher's personality. The practical part is based on in-depth interviews and model situations solution. The research group consist of five elementary school teachers (three women and two men) and five elementary practical school teachers (also three women and two men) aged from 33 to 61 years, while the length of their practice is between 7 to 36 years. The data were analysed and classified into (After the data analysis were make) categories which are subsequently interpreted.

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out what motivational factors act on teachers in view of their further education. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part, which is focused on motivation and its internal and external factors, on the personality of the teachers and also on the possibilities of further education of teachers. Differences in educational styles of parents with and without pedagogical education

(in English) The design of the research pedagogical project deals with the way of raising children in families where the mother has university degree in education and in families where the parents do not have an education degree or teaching practice. The work focuses on discoverin differences in the upbringing of children in the sample families. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part includes definitons of key terms, characteristics of parental upbringing and educational styles. Firtstly, the work is focused on the issues of education from the point of view of the family, followed by characteristics of the teacher, his personality, typology of teaching styles, pedagogical skills and professional competence.
