Projects to support children's reading in kindergarten and the possibilities of cooperation between entities

The goal of my thesis is to describe which campaigns and projects support reader and which are suitable for work with children in the kindergarten's heterogeneous classes. As part of the thesis, project is created base of the studied literature which should support reading literacy in a kindergarten's heterogeneous class and cooperate on its implementation with other subjects. I define the terms closely related to the given topic in the theoretical part, namely literacy and numeracy, reading literacy (in relation to RVP PV). Focus is on the role of kindergarten and the necessity of developing a child in reading literacy with the emphasis on the heterogeneous classes. I also emphasize the role of the family in reading literacy. Finally, I describe specific campaigns and projects in the Czech Republic that support readership and reading literacy. I devote myself to the implementation of the project itself in the maternal Schools with heterogeneous classes in the practical part. In more detail, I focus on the Celé Česko čte dětem, Noc s Andersenem and Listování. While the Celé Česko čte dětem a whole range of uses, Listování and Noc s Andersenem serves as a mere addition to the development of reading literacy. I value positively the cooperation with the city's library and parents.
Fairy Tales activities in kindergarten: Hansel and Gretel

The thesis thema is "Fairy Tales activities in kindergarten: Hansel and Gretel". Theoretical part of this thesis displays the definition of fairy tale and specifications of the preschool age. The goal of practical part is to compare different versions of the fairy tale and chose the best one for preschool age childern. Next step then is preparation of project foccused on children skills developement by work with fairy tale Hansel and Gretel. Organisation of lessons in the ordinary kindergarden. Summary of the project and recomendation for praxis. Methhods as interview and observation has been used. Childern have been developping six types of inteligence by participation in this project, they also developed their ideas presentation in the group and also in comunication with the teacher. Reading to Young Children at Home and in Kindergarten

The aim of this dissertation is to discover what kinds of books are the preschool children read by both their parents and their preschool teachers. The theoretical part defines the preliteracy of the readers and the preschool age, and describes the children's contact with books both at home and at kindergartens. Defines a book in the terms of a medium being in contrast to other communication means. The practical part is based on a mixed design of the research: the quantitative part uses the method of a questionnaire, and the qualitative part draws on the in-depth interviews, the respondents being the parents and preschool education teachers. At first, the questionnaires are compared. The decisive factors in parents and preschool educators selection of the books are characterized afterwards. The children are most frequently read storybooks and bedtime stories. Preschool teachers read out fables, parents do not. Furthermore, parents read out adventure literature. Thus, the parents and the school complement each other. Both at home and at school, children come into contact with prose as well as fiction. Parent Involvement in Pre-reading Literacy

The aim of the thesis is to show how important is the role of parents in the development of pre-literacy reading. In the theoretical part, I focused on the definition of reading literacy and pre-literacy reading and explanation the difference between them. I also described components and phases of the pre-literacy reading and possibilities of its development. I tried to emphasize the role played in the development by not only teachers, but also by parents, and to describe the methods which can enhance readership. Furthermore, I mentioned the types of reading strategies. In conclusion of the theoretical part I pointed out the influence which the reading has on the development of children's personality and what the research says about the role of parents. In the empirical part I analysed questionnaires filled out by parents from kindergarten with an effort to develop a typology of parents who do read to their children and who do not. Additional conversations helped me clarify what affects the reading of the parents has - it turned out that it is all about relationship to reading; parents who were in childhood read aloud, now they read to their children. Reading Beads - a Project to Support Prereading Literacy of Preschool and Early Primary School Children

The bachelor thesis is dedicated to promotion of pre-reading literacy. This thesis describes current projects focused on development ofreading and pre-reading literacy. The thesis highlights the importance and impact of family and nursery school on development of pre- reading literacy and presents various ways of working with literature, as well as listeners' preferences of preschool children. The didactic part of this thesis refers to "Beads of reading" project, which supports both pre-school and young school-age children pre-reading and reading literacy. Czech deaf children and motivation to reading

Bachelor thesis: Czech Deaf children and motivation to reading Klára Bohuslávková Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to study czech hearing impaired children's reading and their motivation to reading. In theoretic part it sums up knowledge about motivation to reading in general, after that it describes need to motivation to reading at children with hearing impairment. The thesis analyzes main motivation factor for reading - the task of parents, pedagogues and cooperation of peers. Then in theoretic part it describes existing projects, which focus on supporting children's reading in Czech republic, and also projects focused on reading of children with hearing impairment. In practical part a project, which was realized in the area of Municipal Library of Prague and which targeted children with hearing impairment, is described. Following that, an interview, which was held with children during and after the project and with their pedagogues - tutors and teacher, is analyzed. At the close the theoretical knowledge from professional literature and knowledge gained during the project are related to each other.
Support and the development of pre-reading literacy by way of modern authorial fairy tales

The thesis is devoted to the promotion and development of reading pre-literacy in kindergarten through modern authorial fairy tales. The theoretical part is focused on the development of preschool age children in various aspects related to the development of reading and language skills - in terms of psychology, early childhood education and Framework educational program for preschool education. With respect to the theme of the thesis is part of the theory also definitions of reading literacy and reading pre-literacy and its content in the context of selected procedures for development of reading in kindergarten. There are also itemized some of the methods RWCT (Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking), which are used in order to develop literacy skills. Theoretically, they are also gripped the literary and drama education in kindergarten, the specifics of the modern fairy tale and the role of projective methods in kindergarten. In the practical part there are present projects: What would happen, if there were walking around Brno giant and Lichožrouti. Reading strategies for preschool children which promote an understanding of text

The aim of the study was to demonstrate that the reading strategies can be applied even for the preschool children. These strategies help children to understand the text read out aloud. In the theoretical part I am devoted to define the concept of pre-reading literacy, its connection with critical thinking and introducing the program Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking. I also clarified the relationship between reading skills and reading strategies, approached selected reading strategies and possible methods for their development. In conclusion of the theoretical part I outlined some of the strategies that might be suitable for working with preschool children. In the practical part I focused on the acquisition of individual strategies for preschool children, for the exact strategies: connecting (text to self, text to text, text to world), visualizing, predicting, reasoning, summarizing and questioning. Each of them I presented on concrete examples. I also proposed an integrated project involving work with these strategies, which I realized and then analysed. Based on the results of research, I have concluded that preschool children can work very well with these strategies, while indicating that these significantly contribute to the comprehension of the text of preschool children. Asking questions as a support of understanding of the text read out aloud to preschool aged children.

This dissertation deals with the issue of reading skills of pre-school aged children, their abilities to understand the text being read out to them and answer the questions related to the text meaningfully, but also to ask individual questions. It addresses a possible usage of some methods of critical thinking for this age group in the field of nursery schools. The dissertation is based on the fact that the role of the pre-school education is irreplaceable in this respect. The theoretical part concentrates on the problems related to answering the questions and asking them, on the development of cognitive processes and speech, growth of self- confidence and self-assurance as an important precondition for a pre-school child's expressing and the creation of a positive pedagogical communication in the class. It offers opportunities to use some methods of the programme called " By Reading and Writing to Critical Thinking " (RWCT) at nursery schools. Influence of family and kindergarten on reading comprehension and literacy development of preschool children

The Master Degree Thesis focuses on the issue of pre-reading literacy and ways of its possible development in childhood. Its starting point is the fact that time devoted to reading aloud to children as well as encouraging them in playing with books is vital for their development and should be an inseparable part of a language learning process. The Thesis points at the imporant role of parents as well as kindergarten teachers in the process. Project "Every Czech Reads to Kids" is introduced. The aim of the last chapter is to show the educational process in the field of pre-reading literacy in particular Czech kindergartens. Role of parents is discussed, too.
