Analysis of age structure of Premier League players
Jániš, Petr ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Hašek, Oldřich (referee)
Analysis of age structure of Premier League players Abstract The aim of this thesis is to describe the age structure of players in the Premier League. There were more than 14,000 observations from the 1992/93 season to the 2017/18 season in the dataset. Given that sport demography is rather a marginal theme of demography, this sub discipline of demography is presented in the theoretical framework. Other literature deals with the top age of footballers beginning football in England, including modern history since 1992/93. In the analytical part is used descriptive statistics, one-sample t-test and ANOVA. In addition to the overall age structure analysis, was also examined the age structure of domestic players and foreigners. The work showed that the weighted average age of all players in each Premier League season is significantly different from the theoretical one. In addition, foreigners are older than domestic players. Finding generations of football players is an important discovery. Key words: sport demography, age structure, Premier League
Development of population age structure in Litoměřice in postsocialist period
Jančura, Václav ; Pospíšilová, Lucie (advisor) ; Hulíková Tesárková, Klára (referee)
In the socialist era, the historical centre and the inner city of Litoměřice were neglected. The development of the town was focused on the development of blocks of flats, which provided facilities especially for young families with small children. In 1989, the socialist regime collapsed in Czechoslovakia, which led to the democratization of the Litoměřice society. Socialist blocks of flats lost their attractiveness of housing. The youngest parts of the city became rapidly ageing. On the other hand, the neglected historical centre and also the inner city of Litoměřice underwent the process of revitalization after 1989. Newly reconstructed apartments became places for life of many young people, thus the process of demographic ageing of these parts of the city has been slowed down. The spatially differentiated age structure of the Litoměřice population has changed since 1989 due to the process of the second demographic transition, demographic ageing and new urban processes. The aim of the thesis is therefore to describe and explain the evolution of the age structure of Litoměřice and its spatial differentiation in post-socialist period. Keywords: age structure, second demographic transition, demographic ageing, revitalization, postsocialist period, Litoměřice

Comparison of development of selected demographic characteristics in the Nordic countries since 1990 Abstract The objective of this study is to compare the development of selected demographic characteristics in the Nordic countries since 1990. In this paper the Nordic countries are defined as a five state formations in Northern Europe: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The analysis shows that the demographic development of Nordic countries is not the same and each state has its own specifics. As expected, the most distinct development had Iceland, which thanks to higher fertility rate had younger age structure. Different development had also Finland, which was aging the most and had a lower life expectancy at birth for men. Surprisingly low mortality rates were observed in Denmark, in particular for women. The curve of total fertility rate in Sweden, which was quite different from the rest of the Nordic countries, was following its rollercoaster pattern also in the period 1990-2011. The uniqueness in demographic behaviour of the Nordic countries was confirmed by the results of cluster analysis. In 1990 and 2011, these five states were in one cluster mainly due to the high percentage of live births outside marriage and in 2011 also due to higher total fertility rate. Because these states were...
