Ciprová, Petra ; Sýkora, Luděk (advisor) ; Mulíček, Ondřej (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the relationship between culture, creativity and urban development with a special focus on the project of European Capital of Culture (ECoC) and its implementation in Pilsen. This study evaluates the positive effects and potential obstacles of this initiative, particularly in the case of Pilsen which has been awarded this prestigious title for 2015. This study discusses the state of the project and the situation in the city during the preparation period. It not only discusses the positive and negative aspects of candidacy, but it also attempts to capture some deep-rooted reasons that have led to current issues. The situation in Pilsen is becoming very problematic and further progress seems uncertain. The most burning issues in Pilsen that occur in other post-socialist cities as well, are lack of understanding, lack of political support, politicizing efforts, commercialization, parochialism and insufficient financial resources. Implementation of this project on a "European level", within these countries appears difficult. This thesis, therefore, proposes some recommendations that may conduce to a more successful realization of the project. Key words: culture, creativity, city, European Capital of Culture, Pilsen.

Its basic point is the notion of a socio-technological order, which works with equal access to human and non-human actors in social processes. The work is inspired by concepts from the selected studies, science and technology (Science and Technology Studies). Field research was based on monitoring the interaction of three key players in the process of programming: music, selector software (used for programming most music radio stations worldwide) and the music director. The observation of mutual cooperation, induced effects, pressures, manipulation and the transformation of actors provides a comprehensive look at the creative process in which the software is not just a passive tool in the hands of its active user and music is not just obedient material in the hands of the reigning human creator, the music director. Creative Confidence
Blechová, Eva ; CHRZ, Vladimír (advisor) ; ČUNDERLE, Michal (referee)
This thesis deals with the desire to create and how can the individual?s thinking about himself help to increase or decrease this desire, to keep it alive or let it die. In the tradition of qualitative research, I have conducted twenty-six semistructured interviews with creators and teachers of creative, in particular theatrical, disciplines. I analyse these interviews and propose classifications and models. These models are combined with my own experience as a creator and as a teacher, with relevant literature as well as with my own creative writing. Given the selected methodology, the text does not aspire to provide overall generalisation, but rather shows some principles that can be inspirational for creators and their teachers.
