Use of didactic aids for pupils with special educational needs in the Secondary Practical School

The diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the need for a set of didactic aids for pupils with different special educational needs, the creation and verification of a set of didactic aids for pupils in the field of 2-year Practical School, which can be used in the teaching of the subjects Sewing and Working with materials. Due to the lack of suitable aids in the field of sewing and working with materials for secondary school pupils with a wide range of disabilities and disadvantages, it seemed like an appropriate solution to invent and create tailor-made aids based on theoretical analysis of the issues of education of pupils with SEN, mostly with mild and moderate mental retardation, autism spectrum disorders and combined disabilities or with impaired communication skills. In the practical part, the method of observation, interview and action research was used to verify didactic materials in specific teaching situations with pupils of the 2-year Practical School at Secondary Vocational School in Liberec. Teaching assistant in a pre-school facility and a child with developmental dysphasia

This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of the work of teaching assistants in different kindergarten classes where a child with developmental dysphasia is enrolled. The theoretical part of the thesis will focus on two main topics, namely the teaching assistant and developmental dysphasia. Developmental dysphasia is a speech disorder that kind of impaired communication skills. In the first part, the thesis will focus on the teaching assistant, his job description, forms of cooperation and communication with other teachers. The second part will describe the issue of impaired communication ability and closer specifications to developmental dysphasia. Types of developmental dysphasia and the child with developmental dysphasia in preschool age. The research is a case study of three teaching assistants in different kindergarten classes attended by children with developmental dysphasia. The research is conducted through selected research methods, namely structured interview as well as non-participant observation. Possibilities of supporting children with special educational needs during the activities of the school club

The goal of the work was to prove whether there are possibilities of supporting children with special educational needs which are defined in the school law sufficiently reflected and used in school group. The author analyzes the lack of support for children with special educational needs in school clubs and points to a lack of information sharing between relevant subjects. The work emphasizes the need to optimize the information transmission system for more effective support of pupils with special educational needs in school clubs.
Education of pupils with special educational needs in a selected Montessori school

This thesis deals with the education of pupils with special educational needs in a selected Montessori school. The aim of the thesis is to examine the views of teachers on the education of pupils with special educational needs within the Montessori pedagogy, to analyse the implementation of support measures in a selected Montessori school and to evaluate the opportunities and risks that the Montessori system of education brings to these pupils. The theoretical framework of this thesis includes the study of special educational needs and support measures, defining the concepts of integration and inclusion in education along with the principles of inclusion. It also focuses on the characteristics of alternative schools, their function and role in education policy, including their legislative anchorage. The personality of Maria Montessori, the philosophy of her pedagogy and the principles of her pedagogical system are the central theme of the whole work. The practical part of the thesis contains the methodology and final results of the qualitative research conducted in the form of semi- structured interviews in a selected Montessori school. Primary school pupils with special educational needs at an outdoor school

This work aims to find out how schools in the context of the presence of pupils with support needs prepare for organizing an outdoor school in the 1st grade of primary school and then formulate practice recommendations. The goal was achieved based on a research investigation, within the framework of which two probes were implemented. Probe I includes structured interviews with educational counselors at five selected primary schools. It investigated whether a subsequent written inquiry could take place at the selected schools. Probe II includes an online questionnaire survey aimed at teachers and teaching assistants. Based on this, it was found that in the area of teaching, free time, ensuring self-service activities of pupils, strengthening the pupil collective, and communication with parents, teachers prepare for school in nature differently than for regular teaching. They are helped by the activity, independence, and creativity of teaching assistants if they are willing to help. In the area of preparation for teaching, in the context of cooperation with teaching assistants, it is recommended to set goals beforehand, with which all its participants will become familiar. Application of AAC in Special Education for i-CT Framework

This bachelor thesis focuses on analysis of communication needs in special education during sessions with mental disabled people and also focuses on application, which addresses this problematic. Developed application enables users to create sentences by choosing picture symbols representing words or their own creating and subsequent voice synthesizing of constructed sentence. This application is designed for mobile devices with Android and iOS operating systems and was develop in accordance with " Computer as Therapy " design principles and serves as extension (add-on) for i-CT Framework, which encapsulates and simplifies interaction and management among applications designed for special education.
Application of Music Therapy in Special Education for i-CT Framework

This bachelor thesis describes development of virtual guitar application for the purposes of music therapy in environment of special education for mentally challenged. Hence this thesis deals with issues of development of similarly focused applications, an analysis of some already existing applications of this kind and a design, implementation of a new application. The resulting application follows on design principles of " Computer as Therapy " project and it is based on i-CT Framework simplifying design and development of applications in indicated environment. The development is focused on multi-platform development with support for operating system Android and iOS. The verification of the application has been done in environment of mentally challenged people.
Development of i-CT Framework and Application for Communication of YES/NO Type

This master thesis deals with issues of development of applications for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) in environment of special education for mentally challenged pupils with communication disorders. Thesis presents issues of development contemporary applications and follows on design principles of Computer therapy project, which compliance during the design and implementation should prevent the current issues. The aim of the thesis is creation of application for AAC of YES/NO type and i-CT framework - framework simplifying creation of similar apps for described environment. Both apps works on iOS and Android systems and were tested in an environment of people with mental disabilities.

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the issue of educating students with special edu-cational needs in secondary schools. The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is to un-derstand, describe and interpret how their teachers approach the education of these students. In order to better understand the issue, the basic terminology and legal framework of the subject will be introduced in the first part of the thesis. Afterwards the various disabilities that special educational needs of students stem from will be presented, followed by an examination of the support options avai-lable to teachers from schools and other institutions. In the conclusion of the theoretical part, I will discuss various approaches to stu-dents with special educational needs from different perspectives. In the practical part of this thesis, I will describe the results of the exploratory sur-vey, which will be conducted by a qualitative method through semi-structured in-terview as its tool. The collected data will be analyzed using open coding metho-dology.
