How Educators of a Selected Elementary School Perceive Their Work in Respect to Their Former Ideals?

The diploma thesis deals with the question of how different pedagogical staff (teachers, school club educators, and teaching assistants) of a selected primary school perceive and experience their work in contrast with the ideas they had about the pedagogical profession. The core of the thesis is qualitative research (interviews with eleven respondents). The introduction presents the researcher's personal view of the subject before carrying out the research. The methodology and the course of the research are described in more detail in the second chapter. Next, the research findings are presented. The following topics were identified in the respondents' narrative: the feeling of lack of preparedness, (non)sharing of materials and aids, attitudes towards parents, colleagues and pupils.
Mental health of educators in the after school club

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of mental health of female educators working in after school clubs. The aim of this thesis is to find out how educators take care of their mental health, what helps them, how they deal with stress and whether they have personal experience with burnout syndrome. The work is structured into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, I focus on the basic characteristics of after school club and the profession of an educator. Then I examine in more detail the area of mental health and mental hygiene. I also deal with stress and burnout syndrome. The practical part of the thesis presents the results of qualitative research, which was conducted using semi-structured interviews. The grounded theory method was used for data analysis. In the conclusion of the thesis, the main results obtained from the qualitative investigation are presented and summarized.
The attitude of educators in children's homes at the end of their career

The aim of the work is to describe how educators at the end of their professional career perceive their work in a children's home. For this purpose, the principles of substitute care, especially the forms of institutional education, were described in the theoretical part. With regard to the target group of female informants, a separate sub-chapter was dedicated to the children's home. Because institutional education cannot fully replace family education, attention was also paid to the risks of institutional education, especially the psychological deprivation that children from orphanages are often exposed to. In the following subchapters, the specifics of the educator's work in a children's home and his risk of stress, which can be one of the many factors of burnout syndrome, were described. Therefore, attention was also paid to prevention. The creative part is processed in the form of a qualitative approach. Data obtained from semi-structured interviews were analyzed and then interpreted through open coding.
Digital technology in the life of Czech schools

The bachelor thesis examines the perspectives of pedagogues and parents towards the growing trend of strengthening digital competencies among pupils and teachers at the primary level of elementary education. The theoretical segment of the thesis delves into the historical progression in gradual penetration of recognizing the significance of technology in education as reflected in legislative frameworks governing schools, alongside an elucidation of emerging concepts frequently discussed in the context of technology in education during the recent decade of digitalization in Czech education. The practical component of the research employs qualitative methodology, conducting semi-structured interviews within both regular elementary school environments and schools with alternative profiles.
The Relationship between Curator and Educator in Museums of Art

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of relations and cooperation between curators and educators in art galleries. The theoretical part introduces both professions, presents their work activities and qualification and competence requirements. Furthermore, the theoretical part focuses on a brief overview of the ongoing transformations in exhibition institutions, specifically describing the related new institutionalism and the educational turn. The practical part presents empirical research, the main aim of which is to find out what the collaboration between curators and educators in selected art galleries currently looks like. The data for the research are collected through semi-structured interviews with curators and educators from the galleries; questions are directed at mutual collaboration as well as previous experience, education and work background. The information obtained in the interviews during face-to-face meetings is analysed and interpreted together with information from the websites of the selected galleries. The research shows that all the galleries surveyed offer a variety of active programmes for different target groups, which shows a reflection of the ongoing changes and a certain shift towards an educational turn. This bachelor thesis investigates the competencies and experiences of preschool teachers in addressing topics related to death. The theoretical part focuses on understanding dying and death, societal attitudes towards the topic of death, and children's perception of death. The work further examines the influence of media on children's conception of death. It provides an overview of the profession of a preschool teacher and approaches to teaching related to death, how to talk to children about death and how to help children in times of grief. It also presents a range of techniques and activities that can be used in preschools to understand and process death both in a preventive and interventional sense.
Personality of a preschool teacher

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to find out what personality types, according to the MBTI test, work in the position of a kindergarten teacher and how each personality type views this profession. The theoretical part focuses on the kindergarten teacher, his/her role, competencies, abilities and moral principles. Furthermore, the theoretical segment deals with personality, temperament and the description of different personality typologies. The practical section describes and evaluates the research, which consisted of quantitative and qualitative parts. A questionnaire was used for the quantitative portion of the research, while in the qualitative portion used semi-structured interview method. The respondents of the questionnaire were kindergarten teachers. Four female teachers were approached for the interview, representing some of the MBTI personality types.
