Data Analysis on the Position of Public Transport Vehicles: A Case Study of Most and Litvínov
Zátka, Josef ; Lysák, Jakub (advisor) ; Svoboda, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with ex post (i.e. not real time) analysis of data on the position of public transport vehicles. The aim of the work is to design and implement spatio-temporal analyses of this data that will be practically applicable to real public transport networks. Their functionality is verified on data from public transport in the towns of Most and Litvínov, recorded during October 2023. The data is a point record with information about the location of the vehicle, the time and date of recording, the line number, the final stop, the last passed stop, the azimuth and speed of the vehicle movement and its delay. A total of 5 analyses are proposed. The first two analyses deal with the possibilities of effective control of the input data, within them algorithms for positional and attribute control of data are presented. The third analysis monitors and evaluates the spatiotemporal differentiation of delays, focusing on trends in the distribution of delays along the routes of individual lines over time of day and over longer time scales. The fourth analysis looks at the occurrence of delays at individual stops. The final analysis studies the reliability of transfers between public transport links at interchanges. The proposed methods were implemented through scripts written in the Python...
Micromobility in Brno
Honl, Tomáš ; Šebela, Kamil (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
The focus of the bachelor thesis is passenger transport and the related micromobility. Especially in large cities it is possible to use the so-called Shared Transport, i.e. one where a means of transport is rented only for the time needed for transport, after which it is immediately available to other users. Therefore, the first part will be devoted to the introduction of the different means, both conventional and shared. In parallel, some of the advantages and pitfalls of the different transport methods will also be outlined. In the second part, representatives of each category will be put to the test on predetermined routes to see if and how their use can be beneficial. The comparisons will include price and speed of transport. The result will then be an evaluation of each means of transport.
Design of Suspension Tram for the City Brno
Gálová, Kateřina ; Surman, Martin (referee) ; Křenek, Ladislav (advisor)
With increasing traffic density, automotive transportation in city centres is not only becoming inefficient, but also contributing to air pollution and health problems. In contrast, public transport promotes more sustainable urban mobility solution. A promising area for the development of public transport is currently the design of underground and above-ground systems. Overhead systems that are not constrained by congestion and that have a minimal risk of accidents can carry a comparable number of people as the metro. In addition, their construction does not require extensive ground excavation. Therefore, the design of a suspended monorail concept was chosen. This concept not only offers an attractive mode of transportation but also has the potential to attract more residents and tourists to use public transport. The design focuses on integrating technical and ergonomic requirements, thereby aiming to meet the current needs of modern urban mobility.
Study of Koželužská Street, northern part of Masná Street
Šebo, Martin ; Čížek, David (referee) ; Kosňovský, Michal (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor's thesis is the design of the intersection and its conceptual solution and the routing of the tram line on the northern part of Masná Street and Koželužská Street. The proposal deals with the width arrangement of the streets as well as the demolition or preservation of the corner house, according to the zoning plan. The reconstruction of the intersection includes the relocation of the existing boarding islands on Křenová Street and the construction of new boarding islands on Masná and Koželužská Streets to create an interchange. The arrangement of the lanes of the intersection and the possibility of cycling routes on Křenová Street in the addressed section are also discussed here. The contents of the bachelor's thesis are alternative solutions for the width layout of Masná and Koželužská streets, alternative solutions for the intersection and comparison of the individual developed variants and the subsequent evaluation of these variants and the selection of the best possible variant.
Accessibility of Transport Nodes from the Perspective of People with Disabilities
Baláž, Matěj ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Tichý, Jan (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the accessibility of public transport nodes for people with disabilities in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part is a review of Czech legislation related to the issue of accessible environment and theories for designing barrier-free environment used in practice. The practical part includes an analysis of the specific area of the Stará Osada transfer node and its connection to the Brno-Židenice railway station. It maps the barriers around the transfer node and the route to the Brno-Židenice railway station and suggests solutions for eliminating these barriers. It has been found that there are no adequate barrier-free adaptations in the Stará Osada change node to provide trouble-free mobility for people with disabilities. The outcome of the practical part is a design of modifications in the area in question to improve the current situation.
Dynamic Visualisation Tool for Brno Public Transport Data
Tram Transport - Public Transportation Backbone
Kopecký, Vojtěch ; Všetečka, Martin (referee) ; Valehrach, Jan (advisor)
The work Tram transport as the backbone of public transport deals with the issue of tram transport as the main mode of transport in the city of Brno. Emphasis is placed on the history of the Brno system, including its connection with trolleybus transport. Furthermore, the current state of the Brno street railway and fast trams and their supplementation by trolleybus transport are described in detail, including the processing of socio-economic data that determine the system. In comparison with other cities in the Czech Republic, but also abroad, its positive and negative aspects are identified. Based on this information, the potential future development of the system is processed, especially the construction of new lines and the improvement of existing tracks.
Revitalization of the Central Station and the Underpass Beneath
Richter, Jiří ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
Current Status Because we are waiting for transfer of the station, the railway is in a deplorable state. Technical and capacity (we can check 30 000 passengers per hour, during the fair is required 50 000 passengers per hour). During the reconstruction is needed to create a network of stations that are interconnected with the public transport. The train will become part of public transport and reduce the burden on the main station node. Move or don't move? The question which is difficult to answer. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages, and they are changing over time. The situation has changed very much in the advent of the financial crisis. Therefore, it should be professional discussion leading to the optimal solution. This does not happen, politicians are divided into two groups already know in advance that their pproposal is the best. Afterwards, looking for a reasons. I decided to check the option not move. The biggest drawback of this option is problematic construction (in service or temporary move). The biggest advantage is its link to public transport and the proximity to the town. Region Connection to the region is very important for me. This I see as a advantage of Brno, which should be further developed. Together with the development of public transport, automobile transport should be reduced. Barrier My work is trying to disprove the idea that the railway creates a barrier. On the contrary, I try to look at rail as a place that connects. Not only each stop, but the parts of the town as well. Construction Reinforced concrete arches are arranged in a triangle layout, creating a spatial truss. There is a train station in it. Trains ar placed on it. Typology The station is treated as free space, which is subsequently filled with different functions. These functions may be, if necessary, modified.
