Strategic management in the hotel industry

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of strategic management and strategic alignment of operating establishments in the hotel industry. The aim of this work is to evaluate strategic management in the company and business establishment and to propose recommendations for strategy and mutual strategic alignment. Literary research deals with issues on a given topic. It describes the basics of strategic management and introduces individual strategic analyses. Then the thesis mentions the possibilities of strategic alignment with the Balanced Scorecard. The practical part is then devoted to a specific selected company and business establishments. All the necessary external and internal analyses are gradually created to evaluate the current situation of the company on the market - PEST analysis, Porter's model, VRIO analysis, analysis of functional areas. All information is obtained from publicly available information or from an interview with authorized employees of the selected company. The result of this work is the identification of the strategies of the company and business establishments using a SWOT analysis. The selected company XY works with the SO strategy, business establishment XX works with the ST strategy and business establishment YY works with the SO strategy. Thanks to this finding, three alternatives are proposed for the strategic alignment of business establishments.

The second part of thesis is focused on analyzed company and information from theory which are used here to calculate financial analysis. Third part of thesis submits own proposals to improve current situation of the company.

This diploma thesis focuses on the creation of a business idea and a business plan for the establishment of a small business that will produce handmade soaps offered through an online store. The first part defines the main problem of elaboration, objectives, and methodology. In part two, the theoretical background of the topic is discussed and the concepts to develop a business plan are addressed. The third part deals with the analysis of the current situation around the future business as well as quantitative research. The fourth part uses insights from theory and results from the analysis and research to propose a viable business plan. The fifth section covers the timeline for the implementation of the business plan.

The bachelor´s thesis deals with the financial situation of the company LAPP Kabel Czech Republic, s. r. o. for the period 2018 to 2022 and derives proposals for improving its financial situation. The thesis is devided into four main parts. The first part defines the objectives and methodologies for the elaboration of this thesis. The second part focuses on the theoretical foundations, in which basic concepts are thorougly described and selected indicators are defined. The third part is practical, in which theoretically described concepts and defined indicators are used to compile a financial analysis of the company. The fourth and final part is dedicated to proposals for improving the company´s financial situation.

In the following chapter, analyses of the current state of the information system are elaborated. The third chapter identifies issues and suggests solutions. The final chapter evaluates the proposals from an economic perspective.
