IoT LoRaWAN soil moisture and temperature sensor
Pánisz, Peter ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor's thesis was to develop software and design a protective cover for a development board that measures soil moisture, air temperature, and humidity. The project addressed the connection to a low-power wireless network for Internet of Things devices, through which the measured data was transmitted. The received data needed to be processed and decoded through various applications, which also require configuration. The measurement results can be graphically visualized in the form of charts on a public website accessible via the internet. For the administrator, a private address with additional information is available. The thesis also describes concepts such as application containerization, the selection of a suitable low-power network, and solving issues related to a dynamic public IPv4 address.
Data acquisition, visualisation and data processing of measuring of electrical energy consumption in BUT buildings
Dvořák, Radim ; Bátora, Branislav (referee) ; Janík, Daniel (advisor)
This thesis focuses on implementing energy management within individual buildings and campuses of BUT (Brno University of Technology). Specifically, it addresses the deployment of detailed sub-metering for electrical energy consumption and the creation of a user-friendly environment for working with the collected data. The work also includes establishing a database for data storage and enabling communication between the BUT metering elements and the storage and subsequent visualization of the measured data.
Automatical plant growing
Stupka, Tomáš ; Dřínovský, Jiří (referee) ; Götthans, Jakub (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to design and an automated hydroponic station, which will be intended for the cultivation of herbs and vegetables for the purpose of user. The station will be controlled by a Raspberry Pi minicomputer, to which a number of sensors will be connected, which will check pH, EC, ambient temperature and other quantities. Furthermore, an external sensor with an ATMEGA328P control processor will be designed to check the ambient lighting parameters. A web interface will be created for the station, which will allow the user to follow the development of individual measured quantities over time.
Transformation of Control System Models among PowerDEVS, Node-RED, and 4diac
Sadílek, Tomáš ; Kočí, Radek (referee) ; Janoušek, Vladimír (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is design and implementation of a transformation application from  flow-based development tool PowerDEVS to Node-RED adn 4diac languages. This approach is based on the model continuity principle. The compiler is written as a terminal application using Python\,3 programming language. This application is tested on a model of the control system in the Smart Home area.
Coordination of MicroPython-Based IoT by Means of Node-RED
Kolář, Josef ; Peringer, Petr (referee) ; Janoušek, Vladimír (advisor)
The target of this thesis is to create means for using the Node-RED tool to coordinate physical nodes in the form of ESP32 chips in the Internet of Things. This is fulfilled by created Node-RED extension, the proposed MQTT channel protocol and custom firmware for these nodes. All of this suport deploy of diverse applications to nodes simultaneously side by side. The designed and implemented MicroPython firmware is capable of asynchronous operation of individual applications which provides an interface to communicate with the Node-RED. The functionality of this system has been successfully validated on the basis of two practical usage scenarios that demonstrate the possibility of direct use deployment system into practice in automation - even with the included firmware installer.
Design and realization of data processing system from environmental sensors in IoT environment
Maraczek, Patrik ; Bastl, Michal (referee) ; Věchet, Stanislav (advisor)
The master’s thesis deal with design and realization of measuring station, which process data from environmental sensors in IoT environment. Thesis includes research of sensors, cloud services for IoT, microcontrollers and environmental data available online. Thesis contains detailed procedure for realization of designed system, including code description for microcontrollers STM32W55 and STM32 B-L475E-IOT01A2 Discovery kit, configuration of IBM Watson IoT Platform cloud service and procedure for correct programming of Node-RED application responsible for logic of whole system. Source code, which might be used for simple implementation of designed system, is attached to the master’s thesis.
Distributed Control System with Dynamically Evolvable Nodes on RPi Zero Platform
Szymik, Michal ; Kočí, Radek (referee) ; Janoušek, Vladimír (advisor)
This work focuses on the development of a distributed control system that runs on multiple Raspberry Pi Zero devices and enables dynamic reconfiguration of its topology. The platform is implemented in Python in the form of a runtime environment. This work also describes how to develop applications for this system and introduces a script that facilitates the installation of an application onto the system nodes. The system described works and a sample application demonstrates its functionality.
Management and Automation of Enterprise Facility Heating System
Hartmann, Jiří ; Bardonek, Petr (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create a unified control and supervision system, SCADA, for controlling the heating and cooling of the company. The system is controlled by UniPi PLC units. Node-RED is used as control software. The user interface is created by an extension "dashboard". For communication between elements using the MQTT protocol. The InfluxDB database is used for data storage. The Grafana tool is used to visualize historical data. The majority of the created system consists of open software. The system is universal, expandable and it is possible to connect it with another system. The system can be used or adapted to similar problems of advanced heating control.
Well Water Level Measurement
Samek, Jakub ; Košař, Vlastimil (referee) ; Korček, Pavol (advisor)
This thesis deals with the well water level measurement. The main aim was to design and construct a device using proper platform and sensorics for measuring which is used for measuring the water level in the well. This device uses batteries. The expected battery life is several months. The device sends collected data via network to the server. These data are visualised in graphic interface using a graph. The system controls the water level in the well and battery level of the device. When the limit values are exceeded, the user is notified by e-mail. Based on this information, the user can decide how to be economical with the water.
Security alarm with IoT features
Kubů, Jiří ; Pokorný, Jiří (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the implementation of own design of an electronic security system with the possibility of extension with the elements of home automation. The control panel is built using the Raspberry Pi3 B+ with a touch screen that communicates with the sensors using Bluetooth Low Energy technology.
