Proposal for group logopaedic therapy for people with Parkinson's disease

OF THE THESIS This Master's thesis is dedicated to providing a complete account and analysis of activities designed to tackle specific logopaedic difficulties associated with Parkinson's disease. The principal theoretical sections of this thesis are concerned with an in-depth overview of Parkinson's disease and hypokinetic dysarthia (a speech disorder associated with Parkinson's disease), the dynamics of working with a group of senior participants, the Parkinson Society, the place of logopaedic therapy in Society and of specific components of logopaedic therapy aimed at persons with Parkinson's disease. The practical section which follows then proposes and carefully outlines specific activities suitable for such therapy. Activities are classified by their objectives - areas they intend to exercise improve. Designs of two model lessons comprising a combination of the activities proposed in the preceding chapters are included in the final section of the thesis.

PaedDr. Jiřina Klenková, Ph.D. Abstract: The submitted thesis is focused on evaluation of lexical - semantic levels of language in children in late pre-school age, it specifically follows up their achievement in parts of receptive and expressive vocabulary. The measurement is implemented through the diagnostic test method which was compiled on the basis of foreign inspiration drawn especially from anglophone linguistic ambience. The lexicon is measured in intact population and in children with specific language impairment with the aim to compare obtained data. Developed findings should help to increase efficiency of logopedic intervention in content part of the speech. The project is based on the fact that currently there are no useful update tests available in the Czech Republic for global evaluation of lexicon. Development of perceptual skills at boy with developmental dysphasia

The thesis deals with the development of perceptual perception of a boy with developmental dysphasia. The work is divided into two main parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the definitions of communication disorder - developmental dysphasia. It also includes etiology, symptomatology and classification of the disorder. The second chapter is devoted to the diagnosis of developmental dysphasia from the special pedagogical view. The third chapter focuses on therapy of the above mentioned communication skill and each of defects . The practical part is devoted to research during six-month work with the boy with developmental dysphasia. The main objective of this work was to determine ways how to develop perceptual perception of the boy with the communication disorder. Practical research contains a case study of the boy and monthly schedules, which were compiled and evaluated on the basis of observation records and the results of tests of visual and auditory perception. Proposal of therapeutic materials for clients diagnosed with aphasia

The thesis with the topic of proposing new therapeutic materials for clients diagnosed with aphasia brings more profound understanding of separate field of speech therapy, which is aphasiology. The first part of the thesis introduces the theoretical basis to the issues of aphasia, concentrates on fundamental definition of aphasia, etiology and symptomatology. Moreover, the thesis describes the possibilities of aphasia therapy and lastly, it covers the differential diagnostics of aphasia. The second part of the thesis covers in detail the Boston Classification System of Aphasia, introduces to the reader the foundations that were the basis for the propositions of the therapeutic materials. The second part describes in detail the very process of designing therapeutic materials in general and it also provides concrete propositions of such materials with possible applications. The appendix includes examples of proposed materials, both theoretically explained and physically created for the reader to examine.
Speech therapy of children with developmental dysarthry

This thesis "Speech Therapy of Children with Developmental Dysarthria" deals with dysarthria and specific therapeutic methods that can be used in the context of speech therapy for children with this specific type of communication disorder. Part of the thesis includes the complete terminological definition of dysarthria etiology, its classification, its diagnosis and a detailed treatment of therapeutic methods. This thesis also includes supplemental methods, which is important for good child developmental and positively influences child speech. The main objective is to introduce potential therapeutic methods and subsequently analyze the frequency of their use in speech therapy. This thesis can be used as inspiration for speech therapists, who will lead therapy with children who have dysarthria.
Evalution effectiveness of the sfumato flowint reading method in preventing

In this Master's thesis entitled "Effectiveness Evaluation of Sfumato Metod of Initial Reading in Prevention of Dyslexia" we tried to find out, whether application of a certain teaching method of an initial reading eliminates presence of dyslexia. Thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part characterizes theoretical basis in the area of specific learning disabilities and education of initial reading with special focus on dyslexia issues and Sfumato Method of Initial Reading. The practical part is based on interviews and questionnaire surveys, which provides us possibility to compare methods of education of initial reading and evaluate them in context of development of specific learning disability - dyslexia. The thesis aims to evaluate of selected methods of education of initial reading in relation to prevention of specific disability of reading learning - dyslexia.
Developmental specifics of individuals with Angelman syndrome and Prader - Willi syndrome as the basis for special educator's work

Developmental specifics of individuals with Angelman and Prader - Willi syndrome as the basis for special educator's work The thesis deals in a complex way with the issue of two rare syndromes - Angelman and Prader- Willi syndrome. It describes the manifestations and genetic background, outlines the options for special education and rehabilitation interventions as well as selected medical and regime measures. The thesis informs about the category of rare diseases and also mentions the strategies for approach to these diseases used in the Czech Republic. It also comprises a list of organizations in the Czech Republic that deal with the Angelman and Prader - Willi syndrome and which associate parents and others interested in this topic. The end, the thesis comprises casuistry of two individuals, characteristic syndrome bearers, and conclusions of a questionnaire survey among parents. Surveys through questionnaires illustrate the specific characteristics of inidividuals that have been used to define areas of support. The goal of the thesis was to describe the possibilities for pedagogic and other interdisciplinary interventions, map the situation in the Czech Republic, and to provide more information about this issue to anyone interested.
