Visual Perception and Phonological Forms of Lexemes in the Czech Sign Language (A Frequency Analysis of Selected Parameters of Signs)

This bachelor work deals with problems of constraints in sign languages, especially the constraints of visual perception. Part of the work is an overview of general knowledge about constraints in sign languages. There are also presented results of frequency analysis of selected sign parameters in some foreign sign languages. Included is also knowledge gained from studies aimed at identifying locations of visual interest while watching sign language. Within own practical research, there are analyzed signs of three areas of Czech sign language: colours, calendar and time units and family, in terms of sign typology, handshape and location of articulation. There is also an experiment focused on detection visual locations of interest, while watching Czech sign language with occurrence of Czech finger alphabet. Interrogative expressions in Czech Sign Language

Anotation The bachelor's thesis focuses on the useage of interrogative expressions in Czech sign language. It provides an overview of the interrogative expressions excerpted from Czech sign language dictionaries and of a video, which was made in the context of research into the use and misuse of expressions that were excerpted from dictionaries. In addition, the thesis deals with the construction of the interrogative sentences in Czech language and other foreign sign languages. Part of the thesis is a DVD which captures examples of interrogative sentences in Czech sign language as performed by deaf respondents of a survey who use Czech sign language.
The Identity of Czech Deaf Roma

With the definition of Deaf people as a cultural and linguistic minority the research of Deaf identity became possible. Following this, questions of identity of minority deaf persons emerged. Do these persons affiliate to the Deaf community or to their ethnic minority? This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of Czech deaf Roma identity. The underlying assumption of the paper is that identity is a continuing process dependent on the interaction of an individual and society and that it constitutes of various levels different form each other. The research the thesis is based on aimed to collect data about experience, opinions and attitudes of deaf Roma. In analyzing the collected data, the process of identity development in these individuals was explored. Deaf community and Deaf culture is described from different perspectives and the results of present research of deaf minority members is summarized in this thesis.

Bachelor thesis on "The TV news in Czech Sign Language" in Czech Deaf Culture is about the media coverage in the Czech Republic, which is indicated by deaf moderators in Czech Sign Language. The thesis shows the importance of TV news for the deaf culture in the Czech Republic. The bachelor thesis is also about media communication in general as well as about existing media laws that are related to the news for the deaf. A large part of the thesis is a historical development of TV news with regard of individual changes. Another important part is a questionaire which covers representative samples of the society. The ending of thesis is a comparison of TV news in Czech Sign Language with foreign broadcast, especially of Finland and England.
Autotrophic microbial communities on needles of gymnosperms

This bachelor thesis summarizes available data on autotrophic microbial communities on needles of gymnosperms. This new phenomenon has been observed since 1980'. In my thesis the composition of these communities is described. In addition, their seasonal development, the correlation of species and abundance data with air pollution (mostly nitrogen and sulphur concentrations) are also referred. Except bioindication studies that used these epiphytic communities, similar papers using lichens were also included. The thesis also contains a chapter with detailed description of three most frequent green algae species occurring on needles. In my own work, relationship between epiphytic quantitave parameters of needle-inhabiting communities (thickness, cover, algae amount) of English Yew (Taxus baccata L.) were analyzed in relation to the air pollution data in Prague.

Thesis Lifestyle in magazine Květy (1960 - 1968) deals with the lifestyle in the years 1960 - 1968 in Czechoslovakia from the viewpoint magazíne Květy. The work examines how the magazine, presented lifestyle in the reference period and how they influenced the ideas of readers' lifestyles. Due to the great range of lifestyle related work has focused solely on housing, leisure and fashion. In the field of housing, work has concentrated on available housing, household furniture, decorations and articles of daily use. In the fashion most attention was focused on the clothing, hairstyles then in fashion and beauty treatments. Leisure time has been reduced to activities designed for relaxation, entertainment and distraction, prevailed in the area of recreation, sports activities and activities of various interest groups. Lifestyle in the analysis of the text was analyzed using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods of content analysis. Quantitative analysis is mainly concerned with the development of a range of lifestyle topics. Qualitative analysis provides information about the content of a particular lifestyle topics. Development of Perception of 6 to 10-year-old Children's Own Body as a Prevention of Food Intake Disorder

The topic of my diploma thesis is the development of the perception of 6 to 10-year-old childrens' own body as a prevention of the food intake disorder. The aim of this work is to discover pupils' attitude to feeding, to find out their nitrituous habits and the satisfaction with their own body with respect to the food intake disorder. The theoretical part deals with the food intake disorder. It describes the development, causes, reasons, diagnostic criteria, etiology, a process and a treatment of anorexia nervosa and bulimy. It also considers the way of the perception of one's own body-body image. The second part includes my own research that is directed to the children at primary schools (at the age of 6 to 10) with the aim to discover their nutrituous habits, attitudes to eating and satisfaction with their own body. In the last part of my work there is a suggestion of the programme for the prevention of food intake within the primary schools'children (at the age of 6 to 10). Influence of free time activities upon the lifestyle of children living in towns or in villages

In my work I wanted to deal with the idea how pastime activities influence the lifestyle of children living in towns and in villages. I examined if the pastime activities of children living in towns differ from activities of village children. I observed if these activities have a different effect on the children's personality progress. I monitored whether the environment and possibilities of towns a villages have diverse impact on the human behaviour.
Comparative studies of contemporary joke by select South Slavonic nations

The subject of the thesis is comparative study of selected South Slavonic nations' contemporary joke, its goal is classification and analysis of the presently narrated jokes in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia. The theoretical section of the thesis is based on Lutz Röhrich's, Gordana Ljuboja's and Jaroslav Otčenášek's papers. Suggested classification of the jokes is based on a field research reflecting the contemporary situation of narrative anecdotes in given areas. The field research consists in acquiring the anecdotes which are currently narrated in areas at issue. The anecdotes are classified in two main categories and particular groups of jokes are defined according to the content criterion. The conclusion of the practical part is focused on the special categories of the anecdotes and on the specificities of selected South Slavonic nations' jokes.
