The Garden Town of Barrandov
Hamouzová, Iveta ; Dvořáková, Michaela (referee) ; Županič, Jan (advisor)
The thesis "Zahradní město Barrandov" (Garden City Barrandov) focuses on the emergence and subsequent development of the district in Prague, which is still popular today, until the period of the Second World War. The aim of the work was to depict and describe not only the initial plan of the building engineer Václav Maria Havel, the single author, builder and investor of the garden city, but also to investigate events related to the subsequent implementation of the plan. The materials and information have been retrieved mainly from the recollections by Václav Maria Havel summed up in the book entitled Mé vzpomínky (My Memories) and from testimonies by his contemporaries. Also used were the following primary sources: building designs, period leaflets, advertising broadsheets published by Obchodní kancelář (the Business Office of Barrandov), photographs and contemporary periodicals. Secondary sources focusing on interwar architecture and building trade in general, as well as suggestions by experts in the field, were also of help.
Family Guidebook to The Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague: An Example of the Lifelong Learning Concept Implemented in a Museum
Němečková, Jana ; Dvořáková, Michaela (advisor) ; Havlínová, Ivana (referee)
The thesis deals with the possibilities of supporting and enhancing the educational role of museums in the lifelong learning process, particularly in the process of family learning. The author defines the conditions of the preparation of a self-guided museum programme for families. The author presents an example of a family guidebook to the exhibition hall of glass and ceramics of The Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague (hereafter UPM). The family guidebook draws on the study of primarily British and American sources dealing with museum education and related disciplines. The thesis also features an analysis of a small visitor study of family visitors of the UPM and a description and analysis of a museum programme during which the guidebook was tested. According to the author, a self-guided museum programme for families should draw on family audience segmentation and on specific needs of this visitor group. Such a programme should motivate visitors to learn actively from the exhibits, to encourage cooperation and sharing of knowledge and skills among individual family members. The programme should make the visitors feel that the museum is a place not only to learn new things but also to spend enjoyable moments, and encourage them to repeat their visit.
Kostelec nad Černými lesy - A Guide-book for Teachers

The village lies on the border of middle and southern Bohemia, 70 km south of Prague in the district of Příbram. In the village live permanently over 2 700 inhabitants. The thesis is focused on the analysis of the investment action undertaken in support of the grant funds not only from the European union in the programming period 2007 to 2013 and the evaluation of their impact on the management of and development of the municipality. The result of the thesis is to assess the economic impact of the subsidies on the farming village and the assessment of the impact of the projects implemented through financial support from different sources on the development in the village, or on the quality of life of the local population, to which contributed the conclusions of a questionnaire survey conducted on the territory of the city.
Gluten-free diet not only in coeliacs
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Michaela
The theme of this bachelor thesis is a gluten-free diet not only in the medical treatment of the patients withceliac disease. The particular subject of the theoretic part is a description of the gluten-free diet and all other diseases for which treatment this diet therapy is necessary. It also outlines the contemporary trend of eating gluten-free diet. For the practical part, a qualitative research method was chosen. The research group was comprised of 15 respondents who enrolled in record all consumed food within two weeks. Using the program "Nutriservis", the diets were evaluated according to the average values of energy, proteins and dietary fiber, and, subsequently, compared tothe recommended daily figures. The respondents were divided into three groups according to alimentation. The first group was made up of people with a diet without restrictions, the second group of the patients who suffered from celiac disease andthe last group included people observing a gluten-free diet, without them being proven celiac disease or gluten allergy. The groups were also compared to each other. Next, it was analyzed through interviews why the respondents were holding the gluten-free diet, and whether during that timetheir healthwas changed or improved. The research part of the thesis was to chart the quality menu of the gluten-free diet. Comparing to the non-restricted diet, research has not reached large differences between the particular groups of respondents. The biggest problem of all groups was low fiber intake. From the interviews, investigating why the respondents observed the gluten-free diet and whether it had any positive effect, emerged different responses. For the problem of atopic eczema and migraine compliance, the gluten-free diet has proven a good effect. On the contrary, it is the problem with constipation or digestive problems. In one case, the respondent was convinced about the harmful effect of gluten and therefore had 15 months consumed only gluten-free food. Afterwards he felt less tired than before and, moreover, he should have reduced his weight by 4 kg.
Behavior of concrete at high temperatures
Dvořáková, Michaela ; Bruckner,, Dipl Heinrich (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to focus on the resistance of concrete exposed to high temperatures especially with focus of resistance against explosive spalling as well as clarifying the mode of action of various types of polypropylene fibres. The theoretical part is an introduction to the issues of explosive spalling, its mechanisms and majority influencing factors. Further description of the processes taking place in the structure of concrete under extreme thermal load, distribution and size of pores in concrete, thermal load, temperature-time curves and their applications, methods of elimination of negative behaviour of concrete exposed to thermal loading (passive and active methods), mode of action of polypropylene fibres and more is also included in the theoretical part. The main aim of experimental part is to verify the function of polypropylene fibers of various Melt Flow Indexes (MFI) and dosage. Primarily, the test samples with content of the PP-fibers are compared to the reference sample without fibers. Secondarily, the samples with standard PP-fibers (with MFI 25) with dosage 2.0 kg/m3 are compared to samples with modified PP-fiber (with MFI 2500) of dosage 0.9 kg/m3. Photogrammetric images were used for evaluation and comparison of spalled surfaces and its depth. Determination of the softening temperature and melting point of the modified and standard PP-fibers was made by using a high temperature microscope video. The second part of the experimental work was to define concrete permeability at different temperatures and pressures. Permeability was measured at temperatures of 20°C, 90°C, 150°C, 175°C, 200°C, 225°C and 250°C and at pressure of 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 MPa.
