Career workload challenges of selected principals

The thesis Vocational Workload of Headmasters at Randomly Selected Primary Schools deals with the structure of headmasters` vocational activities at fully organized public primary schools. In its theoretical part the thesis concerns with the institution of headteacher from the legislation`s perspective, further it describes individual occupational roles of a headmaster - a leader, a manager and a practitioner. The main aim of the theoretical part is to map the structure of headmasters` vocational activities and match them with individual occupational roles held by a headmaster. The empirical part focuses on investigation based on the data gained from half-structured interviews that we held with individual headmasters of randomly selected fully organized public primary schools in Prague 8. Analyzing the interviews, we were detecting the structure of the headmasters` vocational activities: Which vocational activities match with particular occupational roles of a headmaster, if the roles are equally divided and whether the workload of the headmasters is appropriate in its amount. The subject of the diploma thesis titled Analysis of approaches to strategic management in tertiary education is the analysis of approaches from the point of view of national and international strategies and also from the point of view of universities themselves. The thesis contains theoretical background, theoretical resources of the issue concerned focusing on strategic management in general and in concept of tertiary education. The theoretical part also presents the history of tertiary education from the first Czechoslovak Republic to the present form of tertiary education in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The bases for the researched issue, ie. the approach to strategic management in the field of tertiary education, are represented by conceptual documents focusing on the strategy and development of tertiary education in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, the attention is also focused on the tendencies within Bologna process. Applying quality management in the employee's adaptation process

Quality management in the area of human resources management was previously mainly used in industrial companies. At present it is also promoted in the sphere of state administration. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the human resources management process in the area of the adaptation process of employees of the central body of the state administration of the Czech Republic from the point of view of quality management and to propose recommendations to improve its efficiency with application of process management, change management in relation to ISO 9001 and Methodical Guideline for Quality Management in Service Offices (hereinafter the Methodical Guideline). Secondary School Self-Evaluation in Terms of In-Service Training for Employees

The diploma thesis comprehensively introduces the issue of in-service training of pedagogical staff with a focus on secondary school teachers as one of the areas of school self-evaluation. In-service teacher training comes to the fore as it goes hand in hand with the quality of training. In its first part, it identifies the basic definitions needed to understand the topic of school self- evaliation and in-service teacher training, then it defines the legislative framework ensuring in- service teacher training, strategic documents and other plans. Last but not least, it defines the objectives and forms of in-service teacher training and briefly outlines the situation in Europe with a focus on international surveys. Using content analysis, the thesis evaluates three annual reports of the selected secondary school. Furthermore, standardized structured interview was held with the school management and also a standardized questionnaire is distributed among pedagogical staff of the selected secondary school. Education and development of primary school heads in the context of strategic management

The thesis deals with the issue of strategic management in the work of the school head. In the theoretical part, we identify the position of the school head in terms of the prerequisites for managerial management and define the possibilities of his education. This part is conceived not only as a professional starting point for the practical part, but also as a means to obtain a basic overview of strategic management in relation to the performance of the function of school principal. The text is continuously moving from the professional definition to the main strategic documents in the work of the director. It deals with the prerequisites for the performance of the director's activities, the competency model and describes the current possibilities of systemic education of directors in the field of strategic management and planning, including the most frequently preferred methods of education. The practical part identifies and analyzes the importance of the strategic school development plan (school development concept) from the perspective of primary school principals through a questionnaire survey and subsequent structured interviews.
