Biology Textbooks Evaluation from the Perspectives of Teachers

This diploma thesis focuses on selected textbooks used for teaching natural history and their evaluation by teachers who work with them. The work aims to find out teachers opinions on the quality and practical use of natural history textbooks from the publishing house "Fraus, Nová škola - Duha and SPN". The work is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part, the basic concepts related to textbooks are explained, and attention is paid to their evaluation and use possibilities. The research uses a questionnaire survey method to evaluate selected natural history textbooks by teachers. It focuses on specific work with a textbook, on topics that, according to the respondents, are not appropriately treated, and topics that are entirely missing or need not be in the book. The subsequent analysis of the collected data shows teachers' different approaches to using the textbook; some share only selected topics with their students, and homework assignments may also vary. In addition, most teachers think that not all topics are handled correctly, nor are they all genuinely essential. KEYWORDS textbook, natural history, topic, use, Fraus, Nová škola - Duha, SPN
Environmental Attitudes of Students at the Secondary Technical and Vocational Schools in the South Bohemian Region Using 2-MEV Tools

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of environmental literacy, or more precisely, the detection of the environmental attidues and nature relationship of the college and vocational schools students in the South Bohemia. Six secondary schools participated in the research - three of them environmental orientated, three schools without this type of orientatiton. Five hundred and twenty-seven respondents were involved in the research. The new current version of 2 Major Environmental Values (2-MEV) was applied. The fundamental goal of the thesis was to discover the connection of the school profiling, grades, genders, nature relationship and an outdoor activity of the respondents. Only a signigicant difference of the school profiling and nature relationship was identified. In this surveyed area the secondary school students with the environmental orientation achieved higher degrees than all the rest of the students. The gender role of the students showed no significant difference across all the school profiling. The school grade proved to be a statistical non important determinant. Last but not least, in the case of outdoor activities, a walk in nature dominates identically among all the respondents. Our Fungi around the School and Their Importance - Environmental Education Program for Pupils of Lower Secondary School

The bachelor's thesis deals with the design and verification of an environmentally oriented educational program for primary school students on the topic: Our mushrooms around the school, including their ecology, importance and protection. The main goal of this work was to create a teaching program that combines students' theoretical knowledge about mushrooms and the principles of environmental education with practice in the sense of teaching in the natural environment. Knowing the place where students move and realizing the importance of its protection. The theoretical part specifies environmental education at the 2nd level of elementary school, teaching mushrooms in connection with the topic of the work, the relationship of students to the environment in which they live etc. Furthermore, the work deals with mushrooms in the Czech Republic, their ecology, importance, protection, relationships in the environment in which mushrooms occur. Within the practical part of the work, a specific teaching program was compiled, which describes the goals, forms of work, aids etc. The verification of the program took place in practice in the forest ecosystem and the ninth grade of the elementary school was involved. Influence of the level of teachers' environmental awareness on the level of pupils' environmental awareness at the selected schools in the Žatec region

The thesis is focused on an assessing the impact of the level of an environmental literacy of primary school teachers to the level of the environmental literacy of pupils in primary schools in the region Zatec. This work continues on a thesis Silvie Svobodové (2013) The influence of environmental education at the level of environmental literacy of pupils in primary schools Zatec region and complements the conclusions on the extent of influence of environmental education on environmental awareness of the 2nd degree. It examines the extent of the influence level of teachers'environmental literacy to the level of the environmental literacy among students. The theoretical part includes a literature search, including the characteristics of the Saaz region. The introduction of practical part presents an overview of environmental education and awareness practiced in tested primary schools. Survey was carried out through sequential combined research, scheme QUAN-qual. The questionnaire was tested in June 2015 with 84 respondents, 13 men and 71 women. Structured interview in October 2015 attended 12 teachers, 4 men and 8 women. It is a measure of environmental knowledge, attitudes, sensitivity and environmentally responsible behavior. It represents a relatively broad multidimensional construct, which can be summarized into three main dimensions (cognitive, affective and conative). This dissertation is focused on the environmental literacy of ISCED 2 pupils in the Czech Republic and selected Central European countries. The main contribution of the work lies in the construction and verification of a sophisticated authorial analytical tool for comprehensive testing of environmental literacy and its application in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Austria and Germany. The tool is based on a range of tools established and published abroad, the applicability of which in the Czech environment has been verified, namely the Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey and 2 Major Environmental Values. Social aspects of language use in the Republic of Malta

The aim of this is thesis is to introduce and point out social aspects of language use in the Republic of Malta. English language is quite a big issue in Malta because the country used to be under the British influence, remaining until nowadays. Methods used in this work were based on searching mostly through the journal scientific articles and available literature. At the same time, specific researches dealing with language use of Maltese and English language are discussed in the thesis as well as providing different points of view on an overall language situation. English language has a big influence on everydays lives of Maltese population, both in formal and informal sections.
Strategic analysis and plan of a selected enterprise

Following diploma thesis provides an overview of external and internal factors influencing the operating of the company Trade Fairs Brno a.s. Theoretical part describes the background of strategic management and planning including the strategic methods used later in the analytical part. In the analytical part, PESTLE analysis, 7S McKinsey Model or Porter’s Five forces analysis are applied. The strategic plan proposed involves two alternatives and a SWOT analysis. The information used in the work are obtained from appropriate literature sources, Czech Statistical Office, Annual Reports of the company or directly provided information from the company’s representatives.
