Post-girlboss memes as a form of subversive communication within the Slovak political context
Králiková, Zuzana ; Miessler, Jan (advisor) ; Jirák, Jan (referee)
S přihlédnutím k levicově orientovaným teoretickým pracím Gramsciho, Mouffe a Bakhtina, tato práce využívá visual grounded theory metodologii ke studiu obsahu a kontextu slovenských instagramových memů, konkrétně postgirlbossových memů.

Pre-election TV debates on the example of the 2023 presidential election
Preissová, Viktorie ; Nečas, Vlastimil (advisor) ; Jirák, Jan (referee)
This master thesis deals with the pre-election TV debates before the second round of the presidential elections in 2023 in the Czech Republic, when Petr Pavel and Andrej Babiš stood against each other. The thesis draws on political communication theory, normative media theory, agenda-setting theory and previous analyses of the TV debates. Using quantitative content analysis, the three selected pre-election duels are examined in terms of the moderator's agenda setting, the types of moderator's questions and speeches, the candidates' agenda setting, the candidates' running away from the topic, and the type and tonality of the candidates' messages. The results of the analysis show that each moderator gave different importance to each topic. However, the moderators most frequently focused on the presidency itself, the conduct of the election, the communist past of both candidates, security issues, and the current government. In most cases, their speeches were neutral and did not take the form of a question. The debate on Czech Television, moderated by Martin Řezníček, had the most even distribution of replicas on each topic. Nova and Prima TV had a less even distribution of topics, and two topics dominated both of them. On both Nova and Prima, the most frequently communicated instructions were those...
Československý NEI REPORT 1990 - 2012: From a hot erotic comet to a chilled body
Strejček, Jiří ; Štoll, Martin (advisor) ; Jirák, Jan (referee)
Title: Československý NEI Report 1990 - 2012: From a hot erotic comet to a chilled pornographic body Author: Jiří Strejček Abstract: The political-erotic newspaper Czechoslovak NEI Report was one of the first erotic titles to be published in what was then Czechoslovakia. Unlike other erotic publications, which wanted to give the impression that sex is something special and exclusive with a high selling price and chalk paper, NEI Report tried to present erotica and sex as a normal part of an adult's life. Efforts to make it easily accessible to the widest possible range of readers were subordinated to the cheap production of the NEI Report consisting of partially color, partially black-and-white printing on regular newsprint paper, which enabled its low selling price. In addition to depicting erotica and sex, the NEI Report also dealt with sexual education, which was spread by leading Czech sexologists. NEI Report was published as the press organ of the political party Nezávislá erotická iniciativa (Independent Erotic Initiative), later renamed Nezávislá iniciativa (Independent Initiative). However, when this party repeatedly failed in its intention to succeed in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies, NEI Report resigned to political ambitions and devoted space exclusively to erotica and sex.

The content also includes a historical anchoring and an overview of the development of television production in the 20th century, along with the characteristics and development of the sitcom itself. Finally, the thesis compares the analysed series The Big Bang Theory with Friends, which was also analysed in the previous thesis "The Problem of Ethnic Inequality and the Stereotype of Sexual Orientation in the TV Series Friends". The full conclusion then summarizes all the important information and insights that the thesis and analysis have...
