Public awareness and attitudes of teachers to children with ADHD
JANÁKOVÁ, Aneta
The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of public awareness and attitudes of teachers towards children with ADHD. The aim of my work was to find out how the public is aware of this issue and what influence the media have on the information provided. I also found out what experience and knowledge have with ADHD children kindergarten teachers. The theoretical part describes in more detail the issue of ADHD, from the beginning of the definition of ADHD to the current concept. The next chapters are devoted to the manifestations, causes and diagnostics of children with this syndrome. The whole theoretical part is completed with therapies that are used for the treatment and alleviation of ADHD symptoms. The practical part is divided into two sections. The first section is focused on kindergarten teachers, where I found out in the form of interviews what their experiences are with the education of children with ADHD and what attitude the teachers takes towards these children. These interviews were subsequently evaluated. The second section is focused on the public, which answered questions related to ADHD and the influence of the media in the form of a questionnaire. All the answers from the questionnaires were processed into graphs and then evaluated. The results showed that kindergarten teachers are sufficiently familiar with the issue of ADHD and know how to approach children with this disorder and educate them. Another part of the results shows that the public knows the issue of ADHD and can imagine what this disorder entails.

ŠKOPKOVÁ, Radka
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create didactic guidance according to the principles of Marie Montessori, who would support verbal development at children suffering from dysphasia. Data collected during analysis will be used to support decision which domains the guidance should be focused on. The guidance will be then created so it meets Montessori pedagogy requirements and will be shown to parents afterward. A qualitative survey is selected to achieve the objectives set. Results of practical part consist of multiple tools enhancing evaluation of the object size (big smaller - the smallest, small bigger - the biggest), colours, prepositions (above, bellow, in, besides, in between) and hearing comprehension. It is recommended to work with tools in predefined order and to begin with colours rather than with prepositions. All tools are motive active and built in three versions. Testing subjects worked with tools systematically, could focus on the task and finish the task successfully. Their performance was influenced by repeating activities and tools attractiveness as well as tediousness and surrounding environment. In conclusion, the investigation proved that verbal development at subjects suffering from dysphasia can be enhanced using Montessori tools.

Bachelor thesis "Social and emotional development with individuals with ADHD" (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders) addresses how individuals develop from birth until early adulthood, and what problems these individuals, their parents, teachers and the whole neighborhood faces. Given that from ADHD syndrome suffer between 3-5% of the child population, it is certain that almost every teacher encounters with a child suffering from the syndrome. Personality of a teacher has an important impact on a development of a student with ADHD syndrome and influences mainly whether a child with the syndrome receives at school appropriate evaluation, will perform with adequate results with regard to their intellect and whether a child will like to go to school or will only have bad memories of school. Syndrome of attention deficit disorder together with hyperactivity is also currently known as so-called ADHD syndrome. Children which suffer from this disorder tend to be hyperactive, impulsive and have attention deficit disorder. For this reason they have behavioral and learning problems mostly from the first grade of primary school. Despite the fact that the intelligence of children with ADHD syndrome is not affected by the syndrome and in most cases they have average to above-average intelligence the children do not reach adequate results at school. Often receiving bad grading or being criticized for bad behavior and receiving notes sent home. These children are identified by others as sloppy, fools, punk, thugs, cheeky, etc." This thesis contains overview of up-to-date knowledge of this area (issue), above all reasons for ADHD, diagnostics and kinds of ADHD, legislation, possibilities of how to reduce ADHD syndrome and influence positively at a child as of very early age until the completion of the school attendance. In my research I have concentrated on evaluation of the main problems of individuals influenced by ADHD syndrome. ADHD Children and Self-help Societies
KOŠNAROVÁ, Jana
Hyperactivity and attention deficit disorder belong to very complicated disorders which should be considered in a global view. At present no general or miracle medicine can be used. However, specific learning disabilities and ADHD are focused on very intensively at basic schools in the Czech Republic. Children´s aggressiveness, hyperactivity and difficulties in raising are discussed very often. No programme or method can substitute a nice family life, loving parental care and good relations in the family. However, many cases of destroying a contended family life caused by child´s disorders or disharmony are reported. Even the best family is not expected to be able to bring up a hyperactive child by itself. The dissertation is focused on children who suffer from functional disorder called ADHD syndrom. First part of the work is divided into chapters which detail ADHD terminology, its historical development, symptoms, probable causes, diagnostics and ways of dealing with it in general. Further chapters analyse specific learning disabilities which are closely related to ADHD. The goal of the work consists in emphasising importance of self-help societies and civic associations at local and national dimensions. Next part concerns with the study on current situation of the care and service provided for ADHD children and their families in the region of Česká Lípa.Children´s parents were asked to fill in the questionnaire in order to find out their opinions and needs, and if they are satisfied with services provided for their children. They were also informed about the self-help societies and civic associations and ways of establishing local ones. The work should draw attention to the disorders mentioned above and most of all emphasise the importance of civil sector which plays a significant role in dealing with these problems. The author would also like to refer to the necessity of improving lives of these childrens and their close relatives.
