Juchelka, Tomáš ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with an architectural case study of the city block in the Svitava industrial zone bordered by the Svitava river in the east, Ring road in the west, Milady Horákové street in the north and Zvonařka street in the south. Špitálka Smart City is located right in the centre of this area. The thesis is modeled on the Špitálka Smart City urban study, that was the outcome of the pre-thesis seminar in the winter term 2020/21. The urban study objective was the urban renewal of the Brno teplárny (heating plant) area and its surroundings as well as a design of a new urban boulevard. To effectively use the place a residential building with commercial spaces on the groundfloor has been designed. The building consists of four sections, which share two underground storeys providing parking space and space for building services. The case study further develops only the section that is labeled A in the study. Section A offers 23 housing units and a café. The design aims at high quality housing with a view of the city replacing the former industrial zone.
The new synagogue in Frýdek-Místek
Hanousek, Ondřej ; Baranyai, René (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor)
The thesis deals with a hypothetical project of a new building complex of a synagogue, a kosher restaurant and a community centre at the location of the former synagogue in Frýdek. The proposal includes a memorial of the destroyed synagogue and Jewish community, as well as the incorporation of the complex into the urban structure of the city. The project proposes a building distributed into three volumes. The restaurant and community centre are connected by an underground garage within a U-shaped floor plan. The buildings are axially symmetrical, white, with expressive rhythmical perforations of the facade. They surround the building of the synagogue in the shape of a seven-sided pyramid, which is clad with blue tempered steel and creates a strong contrast with the associated buildings. The whole complex is oriented towards the park and the chateau in Frýdek, from which it is clearly visible and thanks to its distinct volumetric and material expression and axially symmetrical composition creates a new landmark for the city.

The work may be protected as architectural work only in the case that it fulfills the conceptual traits of author's work stipulated by the copyright law. These are defined both positively as well as negatively whereas the copyright law exempts some author's work from the copyright protection.Accordingtothe copyright law architectural workis definedas unique work of art which is the result of the creative work of an author and is expressed in an objectively perceivable form. Copyright therefore does not protect architectural ideas (concepts, notions) as such, but only their outer expression. The value of the work and its social significance is not decisive for the...
