The proposed multi-purpose building uses plot in the urban area and is designed as a selfcontained. It reduces transportation and cumulates more diverse functions in one place. It follows the surrounding urban areas. West facade respects the existing street line the MasnáStreet and its height fits the surrounding buildings. When forming materials, some spatial structuring principleswere used, namely: multiplicity, porosity and connectivity.

Uhrová, Veronika ; Drobníček, Ladislav (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Hradil, Dušan (advisor)
The polyfunctional building is designed on a corner plot which original use was as a parking area among Streets Křenová, Vlhká, Skořepka and planned city avenue. This proposal is based on the idea of two main functions, two different designs of buildings – housing, administration. The intended object would interconnect in the middle and thereby create a coherent entity. On the south side near Křenová Street, there is building with administrative and cultural functions located, thus creating sound barrier for the inner courtyard. In the second follow-up residential wing on the upper floors there are premises designated for residential units of various sizes and types, in lower floors premises for services. In the connecting part of these two buildings there are maisonettes and places for rent with wide use. The three floor underground garages, that meet demanded capacity, are designed under this plot.

Uhrová, Veronika ; Melzochová, Jitka (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
Thesis deals mainly obesity of adult people and the factors affecting it. Used panel macroeconomic data are related to 52 countries, observed in 2005-2009. For the purposes of the analysis, the countries were divided into two income groups according to the World Bank classification. During the analysis it was found that consumption of sugar, alcohol, meat and vegetables increases obesity. Percentage of urbanization, GDP per capita, average annual wage, spending on healthcare, the number of sold or registered passenger cars and the percentage of women in the labor market reduce obesity. Consumption of fruits in high-income countries increases obesity, unlike the middle-income countries, where obesity decreases. Education reduces obesity in high-income countries and increases in middle-income countries. There were not found many significant differences between the high- and middle-income countries in the area of obesity, except for the effect of education, which the governments of middle-income countries could use to reduce obesity of population through greater awareness of the obesity risks.
