STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS IN THOMAS HARDY'S NOVELS
SUCHANOVÁ, Kateřina
The bachelor thesis focuses on the position of women in the Victorian Era, concretely found in the fiction of Thomas Hardy. The principle of this work is to analyse and characterise Hardy's heroines who, in defiance of the established Victorian social standards, stand out in a crowd. Thomas Hardy brought the female-related issues, at the time mostly overlooked, into focus. We reveal the dissimilarity of the heroines by comparing them to the traditional Victorian portrayal of women. The core of the thesis is the analysis of three feminine-centred novels with their protagonists - Bathsheba Everdene from Far from the Madding Crowd (1874), Eustacia Vye from The Return of the Native (1878) and Tess Durbeyfield from Tess of the d'Urbervilles (1891). The first chapter centres on the description of the Victorian era and its society, especially women and their status in a patriarchal society. The following chapters will be devoted to the above-mentioned female characters and their modern mindsets and attempts to defy the Victorian ideal. These women face the traditional gender roles of Victorian society and struggle for emancipation.

SUCHANOVÁ, Kateřina
This diploma thesis is focused on the topic of motivation and stimulation of members operating on a daily shift and firefighters at the Fire brigade service of the South Bohemian Region. It brings and analyzes a system for the leadership of the organization and then proposes changes in this area. The theoretical part concerning the given issue with connection to scientific literature is presented, the basic terms from Czech and foreign literature and from the online sources are explained. There is also introduced a Public Servants Act, from which the motivation of members must be based and at the same time comply with it. This thesis also analyzes the fund of cultural and social needs and the collective agreement. The research part is focused on the analysis of the current motivational and stimulating system so that survey questions are answered and the goals of the work are met. The evaluation has been done as a form of a questionnaire survey, participants were members of the daily shift. Structured interviews were also performed with firefighters and these two groups were compared with each other. The results for individual questions are processed in the charts. Based on this evaluation, it is found that the motivation of members of the daily shift differs significantly from the firefighters. Although the regulations in the form of the Public Servants Act and the collective agreement are sufficient, it would be appropriate to make changes to this legislation, which would be aimed specifically at individual groups of members. Changes in the motivational management system are proposed, these changes could improve working conditions and satisfaction of members of the Fire brigade of the South Bohemian region.

Suchanová, Kateřina ; Just, Vladimír (advisor) ; Sarkissian, Alena (referee)
The theme of this Thesis is the subject of propaganda and an attempt to establish the measures by which propaganda posed an influence on the form of the children's theater in the 1950's. The goal of this thesis is to capture the changes and the evolution of the Municipal Theater for Youth (prev. Theater of Jiri Wolker since 1953) during the time period of 1949 - 1959, using the analysis of stage drama and play texts of that time period. The author has chosen the Theater of Jiri Wolker because it was the single and only official professional drama theater that specialized exclusively in the production of performances for children in Prague. The author of this thesis will attempt to capture and show evidence of how the attitudes and stances of the authorities, during the given time period, have changed and morphed towards certain kinds and genres, as well as present the deviations and editorial changes that were made to the original texts (i. e. main character, motive, theme, language, the ratio of propaganda and art, life expectancy, ratio of czech and soviet titles, and the switch from a fable to a fairy tale genre).

The Design of the solution to the wheelchair access in the wide surroundings of Týn nad Vltavou square.
SUCHANOVÁ, Kateřina
This thesis includes a study of the chosen area in the town of Týn nad Vltavou from the point of view of barrierless conception. I monitored the starting state in this area and I compared it with all valid legal regulations and norms. I pointed out the weaknesses of the starting state in this area. The complex barrierless area could be established by removing these weaknesses. This new area could be open not only to healthy people but also to people with limited ability of movement and orientation. I determined the order of the changes urgency. This means which elements should be reconstructed and modified to the barrierless state as soon as possible. I was interested in the state of the footpaths, crossings for the people, car-parks, staircases and other elements. I was also interested in the accessibility of civil facilities {--} the medical centre, the pharmacy, the town laundry, the building with care service and the post office. I chose one part of the footpath for the technical solution. The barrierless solution is missing in this part of the footpath. I elaborated project documentation for this part of the footpath needed for granting the building permission because the footpath is situated in the direct proximity of citizens´ residences and infrastructure network leads through this footpath. The drawings have been processed by visualization cad application. This diploma thesis also contains the list of the valid legal regulations and publications which deal with the problems of the barrierless areas.
