Methodology of using low-temperature plasma in veterinary treatment
Dejneka, Alexandr ; Kubinová, Šárka ; Moravec, J. ; Bezděk, D.
The aim of the methodology is application of low-temperature plasma in veterinary treatment. Low-temperature plasma (NTP) has non-specific antimicrobial effects and it can be safely applied to living tissues without damaging them. The methodology presents the solution of dermatological problems with potential bacterial, fungal or yeast contamination. The method can also be used for antimicrobial decontamination and for the promotion of healing of chronic and non-healing wounds.
The sports centre
Moravec, Jakub ; Třeštíková, Ing Jana (referee) ; Berková, Petra (advisor)
This final thesis is a project of sports center in Brno Líšeň. This building has two floors and it is without basement. Building has irregularly-shaped floor plan. Main entrance is to ground floor. Hall with reception has no celling and it is opened up to celling of second floor. There is dominating flush facade in hall. Entrance to sanitary facilities and gym is from hall, next entrance from here is to wellness and office. Gym has higher celling height than others. This part forms ground part of building. There is staircase to second floor in the hall. In second floor there are some rooms for group physical excercising with lector. In second floor are next sanitary facilities Entrance to terrace is through gallery in second floor. Struktural system is created of sand lime blocks KM Beta. Sports center is roofed with flat roof, part of this is extensive green roof.
Role of Potassium Channels in the Regulation of Vascular Smooth Muscle Tone
Bencze, Michal ; Zicha, Josef (advisor) ; Moravec, Jan (referee)
In smooth muscle cells, potassium channels play an important role in the regulation of the membrane potential of smooth muscle cells, which is closely related to vascular tone. Four different types of K+ channels have been described in vascular smooth muscle cells. Voltagegated K+ channels (KV), which can be open by depolarization. Calcium-activated potassium channels (KCa), from the same gene family, are voltage dependent, and can be activated also by elevated concentration of intracellular Ca2+. Inward rectifying channels (KIR) display negative slope conductance. These channels amplify potassium flow and function as an extracellular K+ sensor. ATP-sensitive K+ channels (KATP) channels provide a link between cell metabolism and membrane potential. Function of K+ channels is also important in endothelium, which produces many vasodilatators and vasoconstrictors. Abnormal expression profile of K+ channels is part of vascular cell membrane remodeling.
Behaviour and ecology of leopard geckos (Eublepharis macularius)
Jančúchová Lásková, Jitka ; Landová, Eva (advisor) ; Moravec, Jiří (referee) ; Sedláček, František (referee)
During evolution, the natural selection favours individuals with the best survival strategy and the highest reproductive success. From the evolutionary point of view, hybridization plays an important role in the process of speciation. Avoiding predators by choosing the most appropriate antipredator strategy increases the animal's chances of survival as well. Studying fitness consequences of hybridization and predation in Eublepharis macularius (Eublepharidae) was the main objective of this theses. Compared to other vertebrate groups, the reliable records on hybridization and its effect on the hybrid's fitness (fertility, survival) in lizards are scarce, despite their ability to hybridize between genetically distant species. These effects were examined in two species of eyelid geckos (E. macularius and E. angramainyu). We aimed to discover whether they were willing to hybridize with a heterospecific species and how the fitness of the hybrids would be affected. Similarly, were studied more genetically related forms of E. macularius species complex, the potential precopulatory barriers, and fitness cost of this hybridization. Analysis of published data has shown that the lizards hybridize between very phylogenetically distant species and are even "more successful" than birds or turtles. Surprisingly,...
Object recognition using 3D convolutional neural networks

Title: Object recognition using 3D convolutional neural networks Author: Jaroslav Moravec Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: RNDr. Jakub Lokoč, Ph.D., Department of Software Engineering Abstract: With the fast development of laser and sensor technologies, it has become easy to scan a real-world object and save it in a digital format into a persistent database. With the rising number of scanned 3D objects, data man- agement and retrieval methods become necessary. For various retrieval tasks, effective retrieval models are required. In our work, we focus on effective classifi- cation and similarity search. The investigated approach is based on convolutional neural networks representing a machine learning method that boomed in recent years. We have designed and trained several architectures of 3D convolutional neural networks and tested them on state-of-the-art benchmark 3D datasets for 3D object recognition and retrieval. We were also able to show that the trained features on one dataset can be then used to predict class labels on another 3D dataset. Keywords: Object recognition, 3D convolution, neural networks
Bitcoin - Legal Aspects and Regulation
Moravec, Jiří ; Kohajda, Michael (advisor) ; Kotáb, Petr (referee)
in English The motivation for this thesis is to analyze Bitcoin as Bitcoin is still a new phenomenon and requires an economical, legal, and legislative evaluation. In this thesis we seek an answer to the question what is Bitcoin. This thesis is divided into three main blocks, within them we use analytical, descriptive, and comparative methods. In the first part, we aim mostly on the economic side of Bitcoin, comparing Bitcoin to money in general sense. In the second part, we argue whether Bitcoin shall be considered a thing in a legal sense under the Czech law. In the third part, we describe the current Bitcoin's regulatory situation and suggest a drafting of Bitcoin specific regulation. The conclusion of this thesis is that Bitcoin is a digital medium of exchange that cannot be considered money or currency. To the extent, Bitcoin might be interpreted in ways where it does not satisfy the legal definition of a thing in legal sense, but for regulatory purposes it shall be, at least for now, considered a thing in legal sense. We also suggest that Bitcoin shall be systematically regulated by imposing various duties on persons who's scope of business is relating to the Bitcoin.
Brontosaurus Movement as a phenomenon of leisure activities of Czechoslovak youth in the years between 1974 and 1989
Moravec, Jiří ; Havlůjová, Hana (referee) ; Hnilica, Jiří (referee)
The rigorous thesis deals with involvement of young people in nature conservation within the Brontosaurus Movement, both children under 15 years of age and teenagers. The work is primarily based on documentation of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, Socialist Union of Youth, Security Services Archive and on private archives of former activists of the Brontosaurus Movement and magazine Mladý svět (Young World). Structured interviews with the former Brontosaurus Movement activists are the most important source of knowledge. One of the main goals of the work is to map the history of the Brontosaurus Movement and the extent to which the movement activities were influenced by Party and Union bodies. The work was concurrently confronted with a wide variety of personal testimonies. The work should contribute to development of civil society and environmental education.
