Neničková, Hana ; Čapek, Jan (referee) ; Koráb, Vojtěch (referee) ; Molnár, Zdeněk (referee) ; Koch, Miloš (advisor)
The topic of the thesis is to build a business analysis methodology for the implementation of information systems in telecommunication enterprises in Czech Republic. This methodology is composed by qualitative research - grounded theory, supplemented by quantitative research and secondary research using an available literature. In the preparation of the methodology I have used the current needs of telecommunications companies, which are characterized mainly by high dependence on information systems, high flexibility, competition and shortening of the corporate strategy timeline. Business analysis in the telecommunications is mainly based on the strategic objectives and its task is to compile and analyze the business requirements that should be reflected in the new (upgraded) information systems while transforming strategic objectives into specific requirements for the operation of this system. Those systems should help fulfill strategic objectives. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first, theoretical part I was focuses mainly on the definition of terms, as well as the general methodology for conducting business analysis and their relationships with process and project management used in the implementation of information systems in telecommunications. Also I identified and explained the used research methods. The second part is focused on primary research. To obtain data the research was carried out interviews with 18 respondents from the telecommunications industry and their statements were subjects for quantitative and qualitative research. The data obtained were conceptualized, categorized and then coded into the resulting methodology. The thesis also includes a proposal for the use of the methodology in theory, practice and teaching.

Prokop, Pavel ; Molnár, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Hawlová, Kateřina (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of fraud investigation systems on the Czech mar-ket. The first part of the thesis deals with the purpose and function of the system in the present time, the reasons and the profile of motivation of fraudulent behavior and perpetra-tors. The next part focuses on the categorization of methods used to detect and investigate fraudulent behavior. In the last part, are compared the available solutions and how these solutions cover the system's needs in detecting the described frauds. Part of the diploma thesis is the design of the properties of these systems divided into defined sectors.
Possibilities of using open linked data in healthcare
Skůra, Tomáš ; Molnár, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Kučera, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with the possibilities of using open linked data in healthcare. The first part of thesis deals with the problematics of open linked data and defines major terms, legislative view and presents main benefits and risks from open data on research based on case studies and analysis. The second part of thesis deals with analysis of datasets in Czech Republic and abroad, focusing specially on datasets from healthcare. This objective is achieved by comparing and analyzing national open data catalogues in terms of categorization of its content, usage by applications and openness in terms of used data formats. Following third part of thesis aims to create a model dataset according to National set of indicators of health services. Its structure and generated physical representation from extracted and generated data is based on research of available indicators of health services quality in the Czech Republic and Great Britain. The last part of this thesis aims to create a design of web application, using said dataset, and its subsequent verification by implementation. The outcome is web application mediating catalogue of medical facilities in the Czech Republic and mechanism for comparing health care facilities by index of mortality.
Search as a Service
Veselý, Luděk ; Molnár, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Jelínek, Ivan (referee)
This thesis is focused on design and implementation of fulltext searching, which is provided as a servise. The searching itself is focused on the utilization in e-shops. At the beginning, the question of e-commerce is analysed, the related terms are explained and the requirements of searching are identified. Then, the theoretical ways of text searching in this context are described. On the analyse is created a conception of application, which is further implemented in the language Go with the usage of Elasticresearch. Finally, the application is tested, which should examine not only the quality and speed of searching but also the user-friendliness.
Rámec Test Governance pro vývoj IS formou outsourcingu - procesy řízení softwarového vývoje v sociálním kontextu
Doležel, Michal ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Molnár, Zdeněk (referee) ; O Connor, Rory (referee) ; Bureš, Miroslav (referee)
[Context] Outsourced information systems development (ISD) represents an important and widely used software delivery strategy for mid-size and large non-IT companies. In such companies, testing activities are conducted by a contracted party, and are hidden from continuous checks on the part of the client, who is typically only provided with insight during the system hand-over. Such an approach is risky; the testing activities might be executed in a loose and sloppy manner by the contractor. Consequently, the risk of unsatisfactory quality may be shifted de-facto to the client, who will bear any negative consequences (e.g., project delays, increased effort) during user acceptance testing (UAT). [Objective] The main objective of this doctoral dissertation is to design and evaluate a management artefact - Test Governance Framework (TeGoF) - that can be used by the client company; the framework thus focuses on client's perspective on exercising control. To this end, the artefact is evaluated in the context of three outsourced ISD projects. [Method] The research is grounded in control theory, which originates in organizational studies. The principles of design science were applied in the development of the TeGoF, and the principles of ethnographically informed action research were used to evaluate the management artefact. This form of evaluation underscores the social dimension of the problem. In particular, the concepts of trust, control, and power are examined using an interpretive epistemological position. [Results] Of a total of three projects, the TeGoF was applied successfully in only one case. A detailed analysis describes the factors contributing to the difficulties implementing the TeGoF principles in the two remaining projects. The resulting interpretation stresses the fact that such difficulties were caused by differences among the contexts in which the evaluation took place. Specifically, there were varying dynamics of the abovementioned factors of trust, control, and power. [Conclusion] The contribution of this doctoral dissertation consists in (1) the development of the TeGoF as a tool that pinpoints significant limitations in the current research related to control issues in the domain of outsourced ISD; (2) the evaluation of the TeGoF and analysis of the key success factors; and (3) a proposal of a novel methodological approach combining design science research with ethnographically informed action research.
