Optimization of biocompatible Ti/hydroxyapatite-based composite blends fabrication
Slovák, Tomáš ; Matějková, Michaela (referee) ; Čížek, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with optimalization of biocompatible composite mixtures based on titanium and hydroxyapatite. The theoretical part is focused on biomaterials, specifying Ti and HA in more detail. The following section pertains to the principle of mechanical alloying. Preparation of the biocompatible composite mixtures by mechanical alloying and their following analyses are described in the experimental part. Results obtained in the experimental part are summarized in the discussion.
Fatigue Properties of Materials with Protective Thermally Deposited Layers
Matějková, Michaela ; Kovářík,, Ondřej (referee) ; Čížek, Jan (advisor)
Titanium powder was deposited into low-carbon steel specimens using three thermal spray technologies: plasma spray, cold spray (USA, Singapore) and warm spray (denoted as PS, CSU, CS-S, and WS, respectively, in further text). The aim was to determine the influence of the coatings on the fatigue lives of the specimens. The experimental work was carried out in a symmetrical cantilever-beam bending setup using a computer-controlled SF-Test loading device. Further to that, the micro-morphology of coatings structure, their respective porosity content and the fracture surfaces of both coatings and substrate materials was carried out.
Determination of optimal processing parameters of common deposit materials in cold spray technology
Antoš, Zdeněk ; Matějková, Michaela (referee) ; Čížek, Jan (advisor)
Cold spray is a coating method at low temperatures. In contrast to precedent methods, there is no heat influece on the initial feedstock powder material and the original chemical and phase composition is therefore retained. Main aim of this work is to understand the technology of cold spray and the production of the respective coatings, and classification of the optimal parameters of depositon, e.g. temperature and pressure of the working gas.
Study of preparation of ceramic membranes
Matějková, Michaela ; Částková, Klára (referee) ; Bartoníčková, Eva (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis the literature retrieval concerning the preparation of ceramic membranes suitable for power applications (membrane reactors, fuel cells) and materials suitable for their preparation, was summarised. Based on that literature retrieval the glycine-nitrate syntheses of selected ceramic materials were performed. As starting material was chosen zirconate structure (Zr-Ba-O), which was doped by cerium, iron, aluminium and manganese ions. The resulting powders were further processed to solid membranes by unaxial pressing and sintering (density of sintered bodies about 93 % t. d.). Then the influence of dopants on the properties of the powders and ceramic membranes were studied. The evaluation of properties (as phase composition, powders morphology and microstructure of ceramic bodies) was performed by x-ray analysis, scanning electron microscopy, a specific surface analysis and simultaneous thermal analysis.
Vestibular Function in Cochlear Implant Patients
Matějková, Michaela ; Čakrt, Ondřej (advisor) ; Koutná, Sára (referee)
Hearing loss is the most common sensory impairment. More than 5 % of the world's population suffers from disabling hearing loss, which affects approximately one third of people over the age of 65. In those cases where hearing aids are not a sufficient solution to these difficulties, cochlear implantation is the standard treatment. It replaces, at least in part, the function of the hair cells that are no longer able to stimulate the primary auditory neurons. However, there are concerns about the potential risk of impaired vestibular function and the development or worsening of non-vestibular problems such as tinnitus, vertigo and orofacial disorders. Aims: To provide a theoretical summary of fundamental information on the vestibular system and cochlear implantation and to assess vestibular and non-vestibular function after cochlear implantation and the impact of any abnormalities on patients' quality of life. Methods: All of the participants underwent subjective visual vertical examination, platform posturography and completed five questionnaires - Dizziness Handicap Inventory, Tinnitus Handicap Inventory, Facial Disability Index, Beck's Anxiety Inventory and Beck's Depression Inventory. Overall and partial results from platform posturography examinations were compared with a control group of...
Intertextuality in the Genre of Newspaper Commentary
Matějková, Michaela ; Schneiderová, Soňa (advisor) ; Chejnová, Pavla (referee)
My bachelor thesis deals with Intertextuality in the genre of newspaper commentary. The theoretical part describes the concept of Intertextuality in various Czech language guides and its interpretation. Further I clarify the genre of analytical style of journalism - the commentary - its basic features and distinctive position in journalistic style. Material for the practical part I excerpted from the daily press in its electronic form, in the period from August 2012 to March 2014. Specifically, I focused on the daily Mladá fronta Dnes and Lidové noviny. An analysis of the material revealed that the authors of very frequent use of intertextuality apply their general knowledge, give this genre a strong distinctive character, expressing a subjective evaluation and gaining the attention of the recipient. Intertextual links in comments across all topics usually appear already in the headline of comments. The most common forms are allusions, quotations or paraphrases. Serves as a source pretext original literary, film, music, as well as sayings and proverbs or biblical references.
Preventive program focused on strengthening mental resilience of lower-secondary school students
Matějková, Michaela ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (advisor) ; Zvírotský, Michal (referee)
This thesis discusses the topic of supporting the mental resilience of lower-secondary school students. It starts with a brief summary of the protective and risk factors and adolescent stress situations characteristics followed by a thorough overview of methods for development and further strengthening of mental resilience. Next, it describes the role of mental health in curricular documents. The work aims to develop a preventive program, put it in practice at a selected secondary school and evaluate its efficiency using repetitive questionnaires. The program further includes a thorough description of the methodology with attachments for teachers, who will guide the students throughout the program, as well as a portfolio for the student participants. KEYWORDS Prevention, program, mental resilience, lower-secondary school students.
Lower extremity musculoskeletal problems in ballet dancers
Matějková, Michaela ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Demeková, Júlia (referee)
Classical balet may be, in terms of its difficulty, compared to professional athletic disciplines. The inumerous repetitive movements balet consists of require both precision and fluidity, placing the dancer's musculoskeletal system under great amounts of pressure. The theoretical part of the paper focuses on the musculoskeletal problems of lower extremities that represent the majority of those that professional balet dancers cope with during the course of their careers. It further contains information about the causes of such injuries, their treatment, and methods of preventing their occurence. The paper also presents the results of the influence of targeted training with closed eyes on the postural stability of a professional balet dancer. It concludes that this type of training may have positive impact on the dancer's postural stabilization and help in reducing the frequency of injuries.
