Influence of the Elements Surrounding the Road on the Traffic Safety
Bláhová, Eva ; Bradáč, Albert (referee) ; Semela, Marek (advisor)
The thesis deals with the influence of the elements in surrounding the road on the traffic safety, focusing on visual distraction of the driver. Within the theoretical part are characterized transport system and its individual components (driver, environment and road, means of transportation and transport infrastructure) with emphasis on aspects affecting traffic safety and visual perception of the driver. The analytical part draws from video records with driving tests provided by the Institute of Forensic Engineering of Brno University of Technology. They were processed and the data were evaluated to determine mainly the length of individual driver’s gazes on particular elements in surrounding the road and their comparison with the time dedicated to driving. The conclusion of this part is intended for the studies of advertising signs as they are the elements with significant influence on driver’s distraction. Interpretation of the results followed by designing their applications to increase traffic safety is included in the last chapter.
Proposal of adventure sports complex in the village Štěchovice
Kohoutová, Kristýna ; Vomáčko, Ladislav (advisor) ; Blahová, Eva (referee)
Title: Proposal of adventure sports complex in the village Štěchovice Objectives: The goal of this bachelor thesis is to design an adventure sports complex in the village Štěchovice. This can be achieved by careful placing of individual elements to attract and persuade people to spend their leisure time actively. This adventure sports complex should be suitable not only for children, but also for adults and seniors. Methods: During creation of this bachelor thesis, there was used a descriptive analysis of documents, various written materials, websites and links. There was also used another method - field investigation (to find a suitable space for the realization of the project in Štěchovice and exploration of nearby surroundings for any running or cycling trails). Results: The result of this bachelor thesis is a project that contains two proposals of adventure sports complex in the village Štěchovice. The proposal will serve as a basis for possible implementation of the project. The results of the analysis of documents can be used in the future for creating similar facilities in the Czech republic. Keywords: leisure time, outdoor activities, active lifestyle, playgrounds, physical activities
Development of voltammetric methods for detection of cholesterol and its prekursor lathosterol
Bláhová, Eva ; Schwarzová, Karolina (advisor) ; Fischer, Jan (referee)
Cholesterol is an irreplaceable sterol found in animal cells, lathosterol is one of its precursors. The first aim of this Thesis is to develop a method for determining cholesterol after liquid- liquid extraction from milk matrices by differential pulse voltammetry on a boron doped diamond electrode in the presence of perchloric acid in acetonitrile where cholesterol provides an irreversible anodic response at the potential between +1300 and +1600 mV depending on the water content. The second aim is a study of the voltammetric behavior of lathosterol on boron doped diamond and glassy carbon electrodes using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry mainly in perchloric acid but also sodium perchlorate where lathosterol provides an irreversible anodic response at the potential of about +1650 mV on the boron doped diamond electrode and at the potential of +1350 mV on a glassy carbon electrode. The effect of other acids - sulfuric, nitric and phosphoric - on the response of lathosterol was also investigated. The influence of the water content in the measured solution and the influence of the polarization rate on the response of lathosterol were studied. Furthermore, the calibration dependence of lathosterol was measured using differential pulse voltammetry after optimization of its...
Voltammetric behaviour of cholesterol on glassy carbon electrode
Bláhová, Eva ; Schwarzová, Karolina (advisor) ; Nesměrák, Karel (referee)
The aim of this Thesis is a study of voltammetric behaviour of cholesterol on glassy carbon electrode in the presence of acetonitrile and strong acid. The electrochemical oxidation occurs after dehydration of cholesterol induced by the acid. The study was performed using cyclic voltammetry, mostly in the presence of perchloric acid. Further, influence of other acids - sulphuric, nitric and phosphoric acid - was studied. Cholesterol provides in the presence of perchloric and sulphuric acid one anodic signal at the potential of +1400 mV vs. Ag/0,01 mol.l-1 AgNO3 in 1 mol.l-1 NaClO4 in acetonitrile. The influence of polarization rate, water content and concentration of perchloric acid in the supporting electrolyte on the oxidation signal of cholesterol was studied. Calibration dependence of cholesterol was measured using differential pulse voltammetry. The limit of detection was determined to be 4,83.10-6 mol.l-1 . Key words: Dehydration, glassy carbon electrode, cholesterol, oxidation, voltammetry
Taiwan women dress during the colonial era (1898 - 1945): social and cultural aspects
Blahová, Eva ; Lomová, Olga (advisor) ; Hudeček, Jiří (referee)
Thesis abstract The aim of the paper is to describe the transformation of female clothing in Taiwan during Japanese colonial rule and to evaluate how these changes corresponded to social and cultural changes over the same period. The author first describes traditional female dress during the Qing dynasty's rule in Taiwan with a focus on depicting differences in individual communities within the Han ethnic group (Fujianese, Hakka etc.). Differences within specific social groups are also examined. The author then analyzes and describes the metamorphosis of female dress that occurred under the female dress that occurred under the influence of modernization and Japanese cultural assimilation during the first half of the 20th century. The main sources for the thesis are period social magazine articles, including illustrations and advertisements. Key words Japanese colonial rule; traditional Chinese clothing; kimono; qipao; Han Chinese; Western style clothing; kōminka
Theme of alienation in Kazuo Ishiguro's An Artist of the Floating World and The Remains of the Day
Blahová, Eva ; Chalupský, Petr (advisor) ; Topolovská, Tereza (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse and compare the theme of alienation in Kazuo Ishiguro's novels An Artist of the Floating World and The Remains of the Day. In both the novels the main protagonists experience a sense of alienation from the society and even from themselves. The Theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the concept of alienation from the psychological perspective while using the categories of alienation as defined by Melvin Seeman. Furthermore, the thesis elaborates on the sociological perspective. The Practical part applies the types of alienation as identified in the Theoretical part on the two novels. The content of the novels is thus compared from the perspective of alienation. The thesis then proceeds to the comparison of stylistic features of the novels.

Puppeteer 1912-2012: 100 years of world's oldest periodical focused on puppetry
Bláhová, Eva ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Sekera, Martin (referee)
Puppeteer 1912-2012: 100 Years of World's Oldest Periodical Focused on Puppetry Rigorous Thesis Eva Bláhová Abstract The thesis focuses on the history of Czech Puppeteer (Český loutkář), the world's oldest continuously published periodical about puppetry. The first three chapters deal with its transformations between 1912 and 1950, the two following chapters describe in detail its existence from 1951 until 2012. The resource material consisting primarily of all volumes of the magazine served as the basis for historical analysis. The text also puts the history of the magazine into context with the development of Czech puppetry and it includes references to relevant literature. The magazine was founded by Jindřich Veselý in 1912 in Prague. After a short break between 1914 and 1916, it continued as Puppeteer (Loutkář), publishing articles about all aspects of puppetry. In 1940, it was replaced by Puppet Theatre (Loutková scéna). But Puppet Theatre was soon cancelled as well. After the war, the renewed Puppet Theatre (1945-1950) had to adapt to the new ideological demands and so it emphasized the role of puppets in education. From 1951 on, Czechoslovak Puppeteer (Československý loutkář, 1951-1992) focused fully on ideological issues, but it managed to maintain its professional qualities. Since 1993, the...
