The Master's thesis deals with the issue of social responsibility (SR) in selected private colleges and universities of economics in the Czech Republic. Based on classification and rating of SR activities in selected institutions that was reached through qualitative research (the analysis of the current state) in accordance with ISO 26000, there was suggested an official integration of SR principles to the organisations of tertiary education and CSR reporting. Furthermore, CSR should be integrated to study plans of private HEIs in form of a special course. The recommendations also aim to areas of communication with stakeholders, sustainable development, and community engagement.
The development of universities in the Czech Republic and the funding of tertiary education

This thesis is divided into two parts. First part describes the development of universities in the Czech Republic after the year 1989. It focuses on private higher educational institutions whose establishment has been enabled by the Higher Education Act of 1998. Presently, there are 44 private universities in the Czech Republic and almost 40 thousands of students who study at those universities. The second part describes the economical character and financing of private universities according the legal form. It also deals with the promotional and marketing communications to potential students and the public. The purpose of this thesis is to describe the development of private universities in the Czech Republic and to compare financing options of private and public universities.
Analysis of Advertising Communication of The Private Universities in 2013

The thesis deals with the advertising communication of private higher educational institutions in Prague in 2013. The theoretical part describes the character of the marketplace of higher education in the Czech Republic at first, where the private higher educational institutions have to compete with the state universities. The next theoretical part focuses on the theory of marketing for educational institutions, the marketing mix, promotion, communication mix, and on advertising in particular. The theory is confronted with the practical use of marketing at several private higher educational institutions in Prague. Lastly, in the theoretical part there is a place decided to lighting up the relation between advertising and image of an institution. The final part of the thesis is focused on the linguistic analysis of chosen print and outdoor ads. The analysis aims primarily at description of the character this type of advertising communication.
Information literacy of students of private universities in the Czech Republic: case studies of selected private universities and their libraries

(in English) The thesis deals with information literacy of students of private universities in the Czech Republic and presents the results of a survey of information literacy conducted in four libraries of private universities. The introductory chapter presents a brief introduction to the topic. The second chapter then deals with private higher education and the status of academic libraries of private universities in the Czech Republic. The third chapter is devoted to information literacy and presents international definitions and standards of an information-literate university student. The current status and activities in the field of information literacy in the Czech Republic are mentioned as well. The core of the thesis consists of four case studies of academic libraries of private universities (The University of Finance and Administration, Skoda Auto University, The College of Nursing, and The Metropolitan University Prague) and the results of the survey for each of them. The conclusion summarizes the results of the survey.
Academic libraries of the private universities in the Czech Republic

Diploma thesis on the topic "Academic libraries of the private universities in the Czech Republic" deals with libraries of the private universities. An introduction into the issue containing history, present, good and bad points of the private universities is mentioned at the beginning. Another part of the work contains information about associations and corporations where the universities are involved in. Foreign private universities and their libraries are also mentioned for better overview. The work describes particular law documents relating to library activities (libraries in general as well as academical libraries). The main part of the thesis is the review of schools and their libraries. The end of the thesis there is a comparison with one public university and one private university and their libraries. The position of graduates of public and private universities on the labour market

The work examines the diversity of the status of graduates of private and public colleges in the labor market. It describes the main differences between the two types of institutions. It includes argument for the existence of both types of institutions and the issue is viewed in terms of cost recovery of investments in education. As the main analysis method it is used questionnaires and structured interviews with personnel agencies. The main hypothesis of this study was proved. It means that graduates of private colleges are evaluated worse than graduates of public universities in the labor market.
